Photo Album of Tinnitus Talk Members

Oh, what the heck....
That's me on stage, more than a decade ago, sweaty, with tinnitus BUT with noise cancelling headset though (and fitter to be honest) :D

Simply seeing all this copper hurt my ears now

Everyone looks so genuine and kind. I dream of the day all of us are smiling like that again.

First photo is me while I was a vet student, visiting Chicago for the first time all hopeful about my future life and the second photo is me today: world weary and usually can't be bothered with stuff like makeup or picking up my office.

Wow! Nice pic @FGG.

All this time I always assumed you were a man, I have no idea why. Beautiful. One of my favourite members of Tinnitus Talk with your knowledge and contributions!

Heh. I learned from Reddit years ago that every ambiguous screen name is assumed to be a guy :).

Fresh picture from today - 1st workday after a 2-week holiday break, so I am not extremely cheerful

Here's a happy me, when I used to practice more playing guitar.

And here's some of my gear that I occasionally play with:

As I have revealed myself at high resolution here, I took the opportunity to lower the resolution of my avatar :wacky: :thankyousign:

Well shit, I can't compete with that hair. But I am more metal than I look, I assure you, lol
I'm 100% more metal than I look - if you've seen pictures of me.

In fact, your last profile post of you saying "tinnitus is your ears way of saying more heavy metal" - made me laugh out loud! I thought yeah, mine too. :D

Oh you're totally metal Steph! I like your style, and I'd say you definitely look like you know how to raise hell :beeranimation:

And thanks haha, the idea came about when I was pondering how Lemmy and co. managed to gig so loud with no hearing protection for so many years. There's an interview with Necrobutcher of Mayhem where he claimed his hearing loss was only minimal, as some Norwegian ear specialist he consulted told him that as long as you're basically relaxed and your ears process the music as pleasurable, the volume won't really hurt you. But if you plugged your ears and were afraid of it, something in the ear seizes up and causes hearing loss. Supposedly, lol. I wish I could find the video. It was an amusing little theory that an inebriated me put to the test on more than one occasion, lol.

And then finally Matt Pike's massive wall of sound broke me, lol.

They never used hearing protection? How did they not have hell-tier tinnitus and hyperacusis!? That's crazy.

Smoke 'em if ya' got 'em, and hit the slopes before the ice caps melt y'all
Where do you live that you still have winters like that? All we had was a bit of powdered sugar here and there for the last couple of years, so looking at your picture makes me feel a little jealous and nostalgic :)

Enjoy the slopes!

Hahaha! Thanks man. That made me chuckle.

What bands you in to? I generally enjoy pretty much all kinds of rock and metal. Heavy metal, thrash metal, hair metal, southern metal - even a bit of black metal.
Obviously I love all my golden oldies, like Sabbath, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, Sepulchre, Slayer, Pantera etc.

I do have people take a second look when they see this little blonde girl driving down the road blasting out heavy music. :) though not so much now I have tinnitus.

I tried to find the most metal photo of me - but I appear to have lost it. :(

In the photo I'm sitting on a morgue table in the dark, in an abandoned hospital, with 666 spray painted behind me, whilst I'm giving the metal horns.

I will have to have a proper look for it. It's a bit blurry though, because it's taken in the pitch black.

Oh I grew up on all of those bands my homie! Worshipped Pantera in high school, the "tough guy" groove metal ahaha. Even had some glorious times with hair metal (Motley Crue obviously).

I pretty much listen to all subgenres of metal and classic rock, can't go wrong with Motörhead  Also worship Electric Wizard for my doom fix. Darkthrone and Immortal for black metal. Not a huge death metaller but Cannibal Corpse is still the shit. Also worship High on Fire.

That's actually ridiculously cute, I would totally do a double take driving past you as well, lol. And I gotta watch the volume nowadays as well unfortunately. I used to turn it up so that the music would reverberate thru the shitty plastic Dodge interior of my truck, and you'd feel it in your bones, similar to a show on a small scale, lol.

Lol that sounds so dope, and cute AF, post it if you find it! :D Reminds me of seeing girls half my size at shows decked out in full corpsepaint, just totally outdoing me, lol.

but here is a photo of me doing my thing from over a decade ago... not that anyone even asked.
This is an awesome photo! And exactly what this thread is all about. :)

So this is you on stage with your band? What music did/do you play?

Thanks for sharing.

Come on peeps - Let's see some more photos! Brighten my day up.

Here is a photo of me, taken in the dark, at an abandoned university - looking really happy that I've found 'room 101'.

I would hate to label myself an 'urban explorer' - but getting in and exploring abandoned places, climbing up anything high, and dodging security, is one of my favourite things to do.

Anyone else into it?

Yes this was taken at Soma in San Diego. I was playing with a hardcore band at the time, but I've played in other kinds of bands. I was also traveling to Hollywood a couple times a week to play as a session musician for a solo artist that was signed to Warner Records and getting his feet wet with small shows around the area.

That's awesome. About 10 years ago, I did a bit of urban explore when I lived in Chicago (there isn't a better place for it imo).

It's a fun hobby, but I didn't get too seriously into it. I can't imagine dodging security (though we did have to run from a guard dog once). I stuck to places that were definitely abandoned because I'm not as hardcore as you :).

P.S don't try this at home kids, it's actually not what the U.S military had in mind for their gas masks
God! This gives me an asthma attack just by looking at it! Haha. My lungs are shot to bits - I can never smoke again. Not that I smoked before (cigarettes that is) but I didn't mind a spliff here and there. Now even air hurts my lungs :(

Ha! That's amazing! I have such a dream of going over to the US and exploring abandoned theme parks - you seem to have quite a lot.

I've been over to Canada and done some of the old mining towns. Though there's not much to see.

Europe is the ideal place to do it. See some awesome things there: abandoned mental hospitals, towns, manor houses, railway stations, hotels. Yeah Europe is great.

England is pretty rubbish. It was much better 10 years ago, when the recession hit, because lots of redevelopment stopped and places were saved from the bulldozer. But now the economy is going again, literally everywhere has even been made into houses, or pulled down... Boo :(

Do you know what - I've never actually encountered dogs before, but I have many mates who have. Scares the life out of me just thinking about being chased by dogs, and I love dogs haha.

Whereabouts are you living these days? You should definitely try exploring again. Keeps ya young at heart ;)

The most urban exploring I have done is watching Dan Bell videos on YouTube... oh and Exploring with Josh, but his optimism gets on my nerves =)
Yeah I never watch urban explore9 online. Actually, proper urban explorers get on my nerves. Years ago, when I first started getting into it, I tried to join an online group. However, they were so stuck up! So many rules and regulations to the forum. Like the wtf! They want a full history of the place, and photos taken a certain way, with a proper DSLR camera. It wasn't for me.

I just enjoyed the actual exploring. Best thing about it, the places I would/have found, are ones that no one on the forum even knows about.
My explores are always 100% better than the shite these other people post haha.
