This has become one of my favorite threads on Tinnitus Talk. It's so nice to put faces to names of people we communicate with. Everyone also looks their best and so happy. I know we don't feel that way all the time, but now when I see you guys posting I will see your smiling faces. I hope this thread continues to grow.

This thread also puts faces to tinnitus, as @Jazzer described, which I feel makes our suffering more powerful and real. We're not just avatars, but actual people.

Hey, Jack,

Glad you like this thread. Maybe you will even dare post your smiling face...haha.:LOL:

It does make it more real to see the faces of tinnitus.

There may be an idea here.

"The face(s) of tinnitus"

May be we could create a mosaic out of all these faces for a tinnitus campaign, and call it "The Face of Tinnitus."

Just as depression campaigns like to highlight how it's not easy to spot internal suffering. Behind many of those happy faces we see out on the street is a back story of pain and misery that is not always outwardly highlighted through our facial expressions. We all wear a mask of some description.

Such a campaign could highlight the challenges faced by a severe tinnitus sufferer. I am just spit balling here and there's every chance that this idea is shit

The real trouble when members are not prepared to expose themselves ( tastefully of course)
Is that we start imagining things like

Hello everyone,

I'm new (about a month a half) and my tinnitus keeps getting worse (initial acoustic trauma /currently battling an awful ear infection) so I don't think I'm leaving this forum any time soon. Also I keep posting threads lol. Time to get comfortable I guess. This is my face to match, the name Shelby. :)

Hiya buddy,
Looking good, and thanks for joining in.
I'm guessing you work in the hospitality business going by your face page comment.
The conversation levels in restaurants these days tends to be so loud that I often make a dive for my ear plugs.
I guess that's not so easy for you.
Best wishes,
Dave x
