After getting tinnitus and hyperacusis - can't be bothered to shave and gained a few kgs (it was still a good dinner with my gf).

Hiya Rish - thanks for coming on.
Yes - I was quite a keep-fitter and would have stuck with it, but this bloody thing attacks our
momentum.
Most of us have put on quite a few kilos.
Very best wishes

Hiya buddy,
Looking good, and thanks for joining in.
I'm guessing you work in the hospitality business going by your face page comment.
The conversation levels in restaurants these days tends to be so loud that I often make a dive for my ear plugs.
I guess that's not so easy for you.
Best wishes,
Dave x

Kinda. I work at a movie theatre. I clean the auditoriums, hallways, bathrooms, etc. I always carry foam ear plugs with me, and due to the nature of my work I'm rarely exposed to the large crowds, at least for any extended period of time.

I always wait for the movies to be completely over before cleaning as well.

I'm looking for a new, more quiet job though. I appreciate your concern. :huganimation:

After I had to wind up my business and before my pretty meagre pension clocked in I did some domestic cleaning for a couple of years.
Hard work.

By the way - the volume level in movie theatres these days is way into the danger territory, as I'm sure you would agree?
I'm glad you wait till the sound track is finished.

Depends on the movie to be honest with you. I've been given complaints several times of movies being too quiet.

And I suppose it depends on the film. Something like The Fast and The Furious or John Wick is probably much louder than something like Little Women or Downton Abbey.

But I make sure to be careful regardless of the film. I doubt I'll be seeing a movie in a theatre anytime soon, atleast not without earplugs.

Hi, Rish!
Welcome to our Photo Album.
Glad you enjoyed the time with your gf.
Always nice to hear that someone can enjoy simple things in life even with this burden.

Most of us have put on quite a few kilos.
Not me! :LOL::ROFL:

Last time I got into a theatre was to watch "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood". I spent the whole film looking for my tinnitus as I was completely unable to hear it there even during the silent moments of the picture. It was reaaally weird as I am used to hear mine over every film I watch on my TV.

Welcome PugDog1!
Nice of you to join our Photo Album.
World Book Day is coming up again on April 23.
So many books to read so little time! :bookworm:

Hi @PugDog1
- Lovely to 'see' you.
One of my daughters has been a junior school teacher for 26 years.
She developed Tinnitus from overseeing the noisy dinner hall.
She keeps her earplugs with her at all times, but it can be difficult of course as the job entails listening and responding.
Thank you for joining up,
Dave x

Wow primary school teacher. How do you deal with all the kids, bells and assemblies? Does your tinnitus react to noise?

Thank goodness no it doesn't! I don't really know where my tinnitus comes from to be honest- I have really bad sinus/tube problems and when that flares so does my tinnitus! I can reach almost silence for weeks at a time then boom it's like I can't hear anything but it for a while! I teach Reception at the moment as well they are 4-5 years old and it's mostly play based learning so lots and lots of noise! They remind me every day to look at life from a different angle - you just cannot be sad surrounded by all that happy energy!

Hi Rajin,
Beautiful background on that picture. :)
Glad to have you on our photo album.

Hopefully, others will join us too.
Once
This was in Ohrid North Macadonia. Very beautiful mountain. I just want to not stop my life, but with tinnitus do more than I used to do. We can't stop living because of tinnitus. I got a lot help here from many people. Thank you.

Alright, mask off, full-on nerd mode: engaged. This was my cosplay of my avatar, Hisoka from the (best ever) anime Hunter x Hunter. I highly encourage the watch; its writing, animation and themes are absolutely top-notch. I cut out and hand stitched almost every part of the costume, which probably took about 50 hours but it was super fun and time well-spent.

Awesome job. This inspires me to get out my labcoat and stethoscope and cosplay as your ENT.

Hiya Mr BS
- nice 'get-up.'
You obviously frequent the gym, with that torso.
I wouldn't wanna argue without you buddy.
Nice to see you - can't you persuade any more of your mates to 'come out' as it were?
We need some more cohorts to keep this thing going.
Cheers

Omg.

I love it.

Chimera Ant Arc is still one of the best goddamn things I've ever read in any manga to date.
