Solsaem Clinic (Dr. Minbo Shim) Experience

I am good. It is now summer in Phoenix, and it is like really hot.
I have an acquaintance that lived in Phoenix in the winter and is going to move there permanently this year. I know it gets over 100 degrees there in the summer quite often but with generally low humidity. I thought I heard they use something different than an air conditioner to cool their house. Do you have a basement?

I hope your hearing has improved from your treatments from Dr. Shim.

Don't be afraid to eat a few dried bugs once in a while. High in protein I've heard.

Some people use evaporative coolers, also called swamp coolers. They make your house more humid, and only really work in low humidity. We don't always have low humidity, but swamp coolers burn far less electricity than an AC, when they are effective.

Some days, it seems, my hearing is a little sharper and brighter. Other days, it's not. But overall, I can tell my hearing has not recovered to when I was a 20-year-old.

Ladies claim sometimes to have a bad hair day. I sometimes have a bad hear day.

I have an AuD appt July 18. We will see.

Aye, are there any other clinics that do this treatment or is this just Dr. Minbo Shim?

Thought I heard it was also available in the Ukraine or so (and probably soon in Russia considering Minbo's journey there).

About this PRP treatment. What should I make of this professor's comments? The professor talks about PRP at 28:58.

He has absolutely no idea because there are no published studies about PRP on hearing.
All any of us have at this point is speculation. That even goes for me.
Also he states that he saw "single paper where they explore that in vitro" and uh, I haven't seen any papers whatsoever regarding that and I have scoured the internet.

If there are other clinics elsewhere, they keep it quiet.

Dr. Shim says on his website that he plans to move to Russia.
But, honestly, after seeing his operation in Gangbuk gu, it seems hard to believe he would move.
He has built up a healthy ENT practice, many people know him and come to him. He is Korean. It's his home.
He would leave it, to go to Russia? He probably has no patients there, probably doesn't know Russian.

He might be planning it, but from my limited view, it doesn't seem logical to me. This is only my opinion. I might be totally all wet.

Does he have any data updates from all those patients in regards to helping tinnitus/hyperacusis, or hearing, to share?

What does PRP help the most out of all the ear conditions he treated so far? That would be useful to know.

I think he wants to open up a branch in Russia and train them and not move there permanently.

Gave me a chuckle. A dime a dozen on GlennAz's front step right now. A sprinkle of Himalayan salt and he's good to go.
It's on Dr. Shim's website, I think. I believe Daniel found it and pointed it out, many pages back.
Ok, will try re-check it again, thx.

I respect the man and consider him a friend as well as a genius, but he is not doing a great job producing scientific data. To his defence, he is very busy running his clinic and managing his personal life. He has very detailed data on all of his patients, that I know. Every day when he meets with his patients he takes copious notes on how they are and their physical status.

There are no bugs right now on my doorstep. They'd die instantly and be drier than a Rice Krispie.
I found a tasty treat that I could send you in appreciation for your updates on Dr. Shim's treatments. I suppose you want the chocolate covered ones?

That is very kind and thoughtful of you. And you know, Biblically speaking, grasshoppers are kosher.

But, ugh, I'd prefer other sources of protein.
I'm happy to share my Dr. Shim experience, if others can benefit.

Maybe John could groove on those grasshopper exoskeletons?

Just found this forum. This thread has really caught my attention. I use PRP a lot (I'm a dentist/implantologist) and I know first hand how much it accelerates and enhances healing.

There are many variants of PRP and I would be interested to find out what form of PRP this Doctor uses.

I'll be following this thread keenly to see how much of an improvement people are seeing.

Good luck guys! In the meantime, I will be very tempted to stick some PRP in my own ear!

Awesome. Maybe you could hook us up? xD (joking)

LOL. I talked to Dr. Shim about self IT injections and he said no way, even for himself.

@GlennAz, I hope your swamp cooler or AC is working. Maybe your low dew point offsets the high temp somewhat. Are the mountains close by Phoenix?
I use an AC, and I'm glad.
It is getting a little humid now. We are getting closer to the rainy (monsoon) season. Low humidity is 4-5%.
Swamp coolers are not working the best right now. The humidity numbers, that the weather news gives, are usually incorrect.

Phoenix is mostly flat, about 1000' ASL.
There are some small mountain peaks scattered throughout Phoenix, that people use for their daily exercise.

More serious mountains are to the north, where you can get up to 8000' ASL, and higher. It's cool up there.

Why don't you send me a bottle of cool air, instead of grasshoppers? That would be more useful.

Hello JohnAdams,

Could you say now that Dr. Minbo Shim's cure fixed your tinnitus by 80%?
I can say that I have experienced a massive reduction in my tinnitus and hyperacusis that occurred after these treatments, whether as a consequence of them or a coincidence. Yes, 80% is a good number. Most of the time I have to plug my ears or be in near silence to hear it. Do I want more healing? Damn right I do. I want to go back to normal. Would I go back to Dr. Shim for another round of treatments? If money wasn't a consideration then absolutely yes.

Thank you JohnAdams.

Does that mean if we have tinnitus due to acoustic trauma, Dr. Minbo Shim can help us?

If I could reduce my tinnitus by 50%, I would consider it a victory.

Jesus said the greatest man to ever live was John the Baptist and his diet was grasshoppers and honey.
This would be true.
However, grasshoppers might be an acquired taste, and I never acquired it. :)
If I saw someone eat one, I might barf
If I ate one, I would barf

...even though they are kosher.

Thank you JohnAdams.

My opinion is yes, but, there's no strong scientific evidence that his exact method is effective. It is also very expensive, and it is an invasive medical procedure, so if you do decide to endeavor to visit his clinic, you need to weigh all the information. Also, there are no guarantees and he will even tell you that.
