Glad to have discovered this. Just make sure to dilute to 0.25%!
In case you haven't seen this (from 1975):

Dimethyl sulfoxide therapy in subjective tinnitus of unknown origin.

Abstract
In fifteen patients affected by essential nonvibratory tinnitus, local applications in the external auditive canal of 2 ml medicated DMSO spray were made. The spray solution contained DMSO integrated with anti-inflammatory and vasodilatory substances. This application was repeated every four days for a month. At the same time each patient was administered a daily intramuscular injection of a preparation that contained DMSO and a vasodilatory component. The therapeutic effect was evaluated through the subjective modification of the symptom and functional tests of the auditory system.

Of the fifteen patients treated, the tinnitus symptom completely disappeared in nine, and did not return during a one-year observation period. The patient's symptoms diminished in two cases, and in four cases the permanent tinnitus became occasional, triggered principally by environmental cold. It is important to note that among the concomitant signs, the five patients with vertigo noted improvement. Hypacusis diminished in three of the six patients affected. Insomnia disappeared in eight and diminished in seven cases. The rise in the average tympanic membrane temperature from 36.8 degrees C before to 37.9 degrees C after treatment was noteworthy. This could indicate an improvement of the blood flow in the inner ear.

I'm going to hunt for other non toxic and efficacious substances to try.

Sodium Thiosulfate — "May" Help w/ Hearing Loss and/or Tinnitus
SODIUM THIOSULFATE I was doing some research on ammonia because I suspect it could be playing a role in the severity of my tinnitus. I ran...

This is the Sodium Thiosulfate product I purchased (10 pounds for $22). This is the stuff tht gives sulfur hot springs a rotten egg smell. What it means is that you can have your own personalized hot springs experiences in your own bathtub! -- Great detoxifier!

If anyone wants me to I can help verify that they are in fact in contact with the right person.
I will be taking u up on that... so please don't forget... at the end of the kids' school year...

Now an attempt at sleep, with three little monsters, my boys... take care my friend.

I am very happy to see more people actively looking for a treatment. We just need to be careful that we don't hurt ourselves. Just remember, we have the same brains as the researchers that discovered mammal hair cell regeneration, but we don't have their resources. Thankfully we have the internet which is a valuable research tool.

Anti-inflammatory and vasodilatory substances.

What can I purchase that would contain this?

@Bndsmheowqhe -- That's what I'd like to know! They sure weren't generous with their specifics were they? Here's some of my thoughts however. There's a number of supplements that are often suggested as possibly being able to improve tinnitus, generally because of their ability to improve circulation (blood flow). Below is some information on three of these supplements. -- In the category of anti-inflammatory, the main suggestion is usually curcumin, but there are others as well.

I would think that if you made some kind of mixture of these substances, and then combined it with DMSO, you could create some kind of eardrops that at least resembled some of the qualities of the items that were used in the 1975 experiment. But that's an awful lot of guesswork! I have a pretty daring and experimental nature, but I've not yet tried to put something like this together. I'm getting ready to order some l-citrulline however, and try using it orally to try to increase the nitric oxide levels in my body, which improves circulation. -- Wish I had more specifics for you!
.......................................................

Natural Supplements

Pycnogenol®: An extract from the bark of the French maritime pine tree, a recent study demonstrated a dramatic reduction in tinnitus background noise after only four weeks of supplementation. The effects were dose related, with the best results from those taking 150 mg per day. Pycnogenol increases blood flow to the inner air by improving microcirculation through increased production of nitric oxide. The benefits can be enhanced by combining it with the amino acid L-citrulline. Studies have shown Pycnogenol can also lower blood pressure, improve skin conditions, boost sexual function, and ease Meniere's disease symptoms including vertigo and hearing loss.

Vinpocetine: An extract of the periwinkle plant, vinpocetine has been shown to improve cognitive function and has been used in Germany for over 25 years as a treatment for tinnitus. Sometimes called "Viagra for the brain," vinpocetine is often prescribed to improve memory and mental focus. Recommended dosage is 10-15 mg, three times a day.

Ginkgo Biloba Extract: Another herb known for improving cognition, eight randomized, placebo-controlled trials of a standardized Ginkgo biloba extract showed statistically significant benefits for tinnitus when compared to placebo. Choose a standardized extract that contains at least 24% ginkgo heterosides.
..........................................................

What is citrulline?
Citrulline, technically termed L-citrulline, is a naturally occurring non-essential amino acid in the human body. It is one of the three dietary amino acids found in the urea cycle. The other two amino acids are arginine and ornithine1.

Blood flow

This amino acid has another important use. It is a vasodilator, which means it dilates the blood vessels in our bodies. It does this by producing nitric oxide, which relaxes the cells around the blood vessels.

Is it good for hearing restoration?/tinnitus I'm thinking of taking that and magnesium..
I've taken a massive amount of it and it has helped with spike and brought down my tinnitus levels while on it but nothing permanent. I am almost 100% sure it doesn't cure chronic hearing loss by itself. It is very otoprotective and could be helpful as an early intervention or as a preventative measure.

It's great for inflammation. If your tinnitus is related to inflammatory markers (which is the whole basis for the fasting regimen) it may help.

I used to drink STRONG ginger and turmeric tea with cayenne pepper daily. I did this for blood pressure, not for tinnitus. It works as well as baby aspirin, and quite frankly tastes pretty damned good with a little honey in it.

I'll probably start again because it was an enjoyable part of my day.

I've had another noticeable improvement over the last week.

I'm now 100% putting my recommendation in Dr. Shim's method, and not just his method, but him as well. I think he is a brilliant genius.

Going to his clinic is one of the best decisions I have ever made next to finding faith in God and marrying my wife.

I do not believe that my improvements are a coincidence.

I just want to say that every single one of you that have gone beyond healthy skepticism and insinuated that he is somehow guilty of impropriety need to be completely ashamed of yourselves especially those of you that have posted outright lies about him ripping you off.

I can't believe so many people have such a hard time believing that substances rich in growth factors can regenerate cochlear tissue.

John - I have to say, I have read quite a few accounts of healing, via other methods, on this forum, and have been entirely skeptical/disbelieving.

I am very suspicious of bogus claims.
There is usually a commercial element to them.
I do not believe in the miraculous.

However, having read many of your posts over quite a long time, I believe in your integrity, and know how you have suffered.

You showed amazing courage.
I believe you, and I am delighted for you.
Well done buddy.

@JohnAdams

Thanks for sharing your experience, very glad your results are so good.

One fairly minor question, but I just wondered, did Dr. Shim as an ENT perform your bone marrow stem cell extraction from the iliac crest or did he have another physician do that for you?

The reason I ask is because curious in general, but also because over a year ago I discussed a similar procedure with an ENT who was willing to perform it on me if I would arrange for another physician to handle the stem cell extraction and then bring it along for intratympanic injection. I did go ahead with the iliac crest stem cell extraction and had it injected back into the bloodstream by IV, not into the middle ear by intratympanic injection, because it all seemed too daunting. But you have now blazed a trail.

Yes he did it, from my iliac crest. 6 times. Ouch!

Thanks man. I appreciate your words. I think you are a very honest person as well.
