Hi Everyone,
I developed tinnitus when I was about 20 years old and positional vertigo a few years later.
After 35 years I am still suffering with ear issues. The tinnitus is tolerable and the Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo comes and goes but finally after 20 years found a doctor who knew what it was and with the Canalith procedure the calcium stones that float in the ear get reattached. Easy in office procedure. About 20 years ago I had bad ear ache - drs had no idea what I had and lanced tympanic membrane in office.
Long story short, it never healed so therefore I have conductive as well as sensorineural hearing loss in that ear and am afraid to have the surgery with all these issues already. Fast forward I developed this thumping in right ear and its been gone for 10 years only to resurface a few weeks ago- like everyone else here, the ENT doesn't have much to offer-
Today I had it on and off basically all day- No pain but so annoying-
I had to beg for Klonopin since I read it helps but it just makes me tired - took it once the other day but not today- I am getting very depressed-
Don't know how I will go to work like this- Luckily I work part time and pray that I am symptom free on those days-
Don't know what else to do- it's brought on by hiccup, yawn, stretch or internal burp just like everyone else but the doctors looked at me like I was crazy- I tried so hard not to yawn today - Just a bad day today.
Thanks for having this site to write about it
