What's the Point? No Matter What I Try to Do, I Will FOREVER Have My Tinnitus and Hyperacusis...

Yes that is why I am REALLY scared to go to the dentist... :(

I use the ear muffs that are popular at gun ranges, because you can let in regular volume (which you can also turn down) but they cut out as soon as the sound becomes too loud.

They are a perfect balance between regular earmuffs (not good at dentist) and no earmuffs.

Hope that helps.
I use Walkers Razor Slim Quads..pretty low profile and they do the job nicely.

Hoping that everyone who is reading this thread feels ok despite their T !

Here in Switzerland we FINALLY got some rain, it was soooooooooo good !

After many days at 35 degrees... But apparently tomorrow the heat is coming back... :(

Wish you well ! :)

Peace

Christophe

My future is doomed, not only because I have T and H, but also because I have Depression since so many years... And it always comes back to fuck me !
Havent you been following recent medical developments???? Stop saying you will have this forever. They may have a viable treatment or a cure by 2020. Just chill and push through each day like the rest of us do .

dude, chill, I know it sucks. We are in this together. Go try and make yourself happy. I'm in a sorta quit room and two shot of vodka has made my T very low.

@Christophe_85 ,
Depression is more in the lime light now and nothing to be ashamed of.
Looking after our mental health is so important and finding what helps you cope will get you through the dark times so never give up looking after your mental health as it's a life long lesson.

Your life is over when you decide that it is, don't end it on Ts terms... Don't let it control you... Don't let it win!

John on my bad days if only I could pop round to yours for few shots. I reckon the world would be a better place afterwards.

I'm curious about who here has T/H from a single loud noise that lasted a second (gunfire, gonging piece of metal, etc.) or a prolonged exposure to loud sound through long term abuse (concerts, clubs, heavy machinery, etc), and examine their recorded experience of it over the following months and years. Then a more accurate prognosis might be formed for new patients?

Who has better chance at recovery? Are their symptoms different? Is one form worse than the other? Is one form more likely to be permanent than the other?

Hello everyone, I hope you feel well these days ! :)

Today we have the Sun with us here in Switzerland, I went out for a small walk during lunch break... Feels good ! :)

Otherwise, I am trying to change many small things in my Life, very difficult ! :-/

You are great guys and girls. My eyes are watering. I am optimistic about treatments and a cure but the cynical realist in me makes me echo Christophe's sentiments.

T seems so complicated when the brain is so involved. I know, I posted how much I believed that hair cell regeneration will be a factor in finding a cure. Not only is that depressingly far away but what will our brains do when hearing loss is solved? Even some researchers who study it are not coming out assuring us with absolute certainty that this would instantly cure tinnitus. I hoped that our brains would rewire and reset thus 'stopping the noise and erratic neuron activity' but is it wishful thinking or a conclusion based on real science?

Either way, I will repeat again, it seems so far away, regardless. :(

I had to quit the motorbike too much wind into any Helmet... Even the ones that were supposed to be very quiet... And I precise that my motorbike is only 125cm3... :(

I sometimes would like to start an Instrument like the guitar and others, but this is too loud and high-pitch...

Ok so I have Tinnitus and Hyperacousis since more than 4 years now...

It was already difficult to see myself in a relationship before this shit, because I have a very low salary, but with that in addition ???

I was doing research for chemical castration, to kill all sexual urges, but I read that this is not THE solution... :(

Don't be trying anything like that, I know it's been a rough ride but you never know what's round the corner mate. A lot of people spend a good amount of years not meeting anybody and then wham they get hit with the love bug. Just keep doing what you are doing and see what happens, maybe a dating app or two? You are a cool guy so don't give up.
Ps you have two hands just use a different one each night, spice it up a bit.

Thanks for your message !

You know dating apps is like : 1 woman for 100 men !

And regarding my job, it is already difficult to cope with, I couldn't see myself in something more stressful just for having a "chance" to meet a woman... To me this is not a motivation...
