Cause of Tinnitus
acoustic trauma
When I smile my tinnitus increases a lot. Does anyone have the same symptom? I found this from the web: "By forcing a very "wide" smile, you stretch the larger zygomatic muscle and relax the tympanic tensor, which is attached to it. With this, the eardrum is less stretched".

Maybe a problem in this tympanic tensor?

This is SOMATIC TINNITUS.

How many people read this thread title and smiled just to see if their tinnitus changed?

I smile. A lot. It does not alter my tinnitus, which is good because I just like to smile. Smiling is my favorite. Sorry, couldn't resist a holiday movie quote.

OP, it could be somatic with your jaw. Can you see a maxillary specialist? Or at least speak with your dentist.

Has an ENT examined your ear? Had an MRI?
