  • Long covid is scary. Praying this passes. Have had so many symptoms since catching covid, heart issues, fatigue, vertigo, brain fog
Are there usually fireworks on New Years night too? Or just NYE, can't do this another night.
    HearingHell
Not usually. The night leading into January 2 should be quiet and normal.
Yep, spike. Haven't slept a single hour. Earmuffs don't work. Literally every single time I've needed to count on them theyve never worked.
    aab
I use foam earplugs and earmuffs together. Double hearing protection.
    cyberspace
@aab how do you keep them on without panicking from how loud the tinnitus is
    aab
My T does not bother me during day.
I need to turn off earmuffs, earplugs when I eat, sleep, pray. Read about occlusion effect.
I think I got a new loud tone in my right ear due to these fireworks despite wearing earmuffs. Someone calm me down please I can't sleep
People doing fireworks right outside my window now, doubt earmuffs will be enough. My life is probably over for good now. It was a good run.
Okay I'm putting on the earmuffs and keeping them on no matter how hell it is with them on. The fireworks still sound incredibly loud.
Tried having earmuffs on to protect against the fireworks, can't do it, the T is way too loud with earmuffs on. What do I do, someone help
Why are doctors USELESS when it comes to any condition. Tinnitus? Utterly useless, long covid? Useless. They're ONLY useful at gaslighting.
    Juliane
And pushing meds. Real healing, I believe, will never start in a doctor's office
Having long covid fatigue symptoms and I dropped a shampoo bottle in the shower, chances of this causing a permanent increase?
Terrified that I'm developing long covid, it's been almost 2 weeks now and I feel just as bad with fatigue
The noisiness and stresses of life aren't compatible with tinnitus sufferers (will always cause spikes/worsenings), so what do we do?
    Juliane
We cannot live like "normal" people. We have a severe disability. We have to isolate most of our lives
    Juliane
I consider leaving everything behind and becoming an outcast. Tinnitus, if not mild, means a miserable existence. Sorry
    4Grace
@Juliane - so true. I can confirm. I wish I had the mental ability to stay inside all day everyday. It's just as much torcher for me. This is insane and I am not even taking my daughter into consideration.
Anyone have medical PTSD from tinnitus?
    Juliane
I think I do but have not been diagnosed. But I am definitely not the same person as before and I am experiencing a whole new level of anxiety that I never knew existed prior to worsened T
    Marina Moon
I am definitely a changed person.
    Juliane
@Tryn2BHopeful I did not even trust doctors before this ordeal but still was persuaded to take sleeping pills and I am positive they made everything worse. I feel so stupid
Anyone else have life-ruiningly consistent loud neighbors?
    crescentsky
yeah, my life was ruined 20 months back by them, tho they are not neighbors but my own former tenants. I do have a few neighbors that violates the noise ordinances, but it's not life threatening so the police will not enforce it.
    kingsfan
Loud neighbors are part of the reason I have bad tinnitus. Not bc of the volume of their noise but bc the irritating stomping and cupboards banging caused me to wear headphones nearly all day every day.
    cyberspace
@kingsfan same with me, used headphones nonstop during my childhood to drown out their constant noise. 13 years later and they're still just as loud if not more, people do not change
Is it better to get on Prednisone again for the new COVID tones? Or leave it and wait it out + pray?
    kingsfan
That's a tough one bc prednisone suppresses your immune system possibly worsening your Covid infection, but not absolutely guaranteed. It seems likes all really a toss of the coin.
What tinnitus safe meds can I take for vertigo?
    4Grace
I am not sure but wanted to say I am thinking of you. So sorry. Nobody deserves this.
When as more time goes on the likelihood of an event causing permanent T worsening becomes higher and higher
I guess this is my second permanent worsening? Thanks COVID for ruining my life. How do people say T isn't a progressive condition
    RunningMan
Yeah, it's definitely been progressive for me and so many others.
    T
Hopefully this worsening is only temporary and your T will settle once you get over this bloody virus.
    Marina Moon
When I got covid In september my T temporarily increased then went back to baseline when i recovered. (I have a few different T sounds, but it was only the humming sound that went up, i could still hear it even next to an open window.) Stay strong!
This doesn't seem like a spike. None of my past spikes were ever like this. I have a brand new loud tone in my non original T ear.
Having Tylenol overdose symptoms but need to keep the COVID fever down what do I do
    kingsfan
You shouldn't take more than 10 regular strength or 6 extra strength within 24 hours. Can cause liver failure.

It is safe to take NSAIDs - advil, motrin, aleve - together with tylenol if you need extra pain or fever suppression.
    4Grace
    I'm thinking of you
Can a doctor please prescribe valium again, I absolutely cannot sleep with covid and my T is blaring, I cannot trial and error sleep meds rn
How much acetaminophen is too much? I need to keep this covid fever down now, my T spike from covid is much worse than the flu one
    Tryn2BHopeful
There should be directions on the bottle. Usually 2 pills every 6 hours I think.
