  • Yesterday my tinnitus was silent. For the whole day. Like plug my ears in a silent bathroom silent. It's back and kind of loud today. Ugh.

That's great! You know it's possible and hopefully that gives you some encouragement. May you continue to heal and recover!

Thanks for all our support and well wishes! I'll keep you all updated :)

Congrats on escaping the labyrinth. Looks like you're on to better things.
I think I'm going to start a tinnitus and hyperacusis support group for Southeast MI. Reply if you're interested.

I still have tinnitus, reactive tinnitus/hyperacusis, but I'm doing ok. I have good days and bad days. It's been about 6 months since I've gotten tinnitus. I see some slow improvements. Definitely not nearly as bad as it was back in December. That was absolutely hell.

That's good that there have been improvements. I'm kind of in the "hell" phase right now. It's weird--yesterday evening was pretty good, not much sound. Then when I went to bed, yikes. The hardest thing is not knowing. Is it temporary, is it permanent? Why the hell aren't there any cures yet?? Are you taking any medication/supplements?

I'm so sorry you're in that hell phase right now. I feel for you. I promise you it does get better. I am currently taking 50 mg of trazadone and some melatonin for sleep every night.
I also had an extended audiogram. 15 dbc notch at 4khz in right ear and a 30 dcb drop at 14khz and 16khz in my right ear.
My morse code tinnitus is back...and I'm just exhausted. I won't make it if this is the rest of my life.
My smoke alarm went off. Please help me. I was wearing ear plugs. Please. Do I need to go to the emergency room?
Saw a new doctor today. He wants to see my other audiogram. Looking at a diuretic and anti-convuslant. He wants an MRI.
My progress seems to have gone. Tinnitus is back loud, single wine glass tone is back, sound distortion, & hyperacusis. I want to be dead.
My initial tinnitus *knock on wood* has faded SO much over the last 2 months. The sound distortions and hyperacusis are a whole other thing.
My ideal future partner will be someone who uses the same masking sounds as I do for their tinnitus.

Funnily enough, my gf got tinnitus few days after me. But, thanks god, hers is mostly gone.
My doctor told me today "I agree, you have no quality of life." Wow, first time we have agreed about something!
Why is it only white noise that sounds distorted and spikes my tinnitus? Other sounds don't seem to make my tinnitus loud.
