    The thingy is to help you insert the plugs into your ears. the outer end of the plug fits in the thingy. Then you pull up your ear a bit with one hand, and with the other you insert the plug with the thingy. It's easy, you'll get used to it in no time.

    Ibuprofen makes my Tinnitus more noticeable. If you can't be without it, why not try some simple masking technique such as placing a small water fountain near you, leaving the TV on, etc? I feel you should talk about medication and side effects to a doctor.
