“Tinnitus Truths”

We do come here Dave, especially when we are having particularly bad T days. I think
I'll pass on the free bear hugs though. Life before and after severe T has no comparison does it. x

I put all these mottos up here largely to encourage myself.
Nobody ever comes on this section much, but I still need the encouragement even if they don't.
There may be just a handful of us
(out of a reputed 25,000)
but we are a select bunch of rather special people as far as I am concerned.

Amen to that Jazzer.
This is my salvation.
The poetry people have contributed, your words, our words.
Without poetry we are lost, like lyrics to a song.
How else can we express our grief and our jubilation for life.

Art transcends science in its ability to express what it is to be human, to suffer, to love.

Thanks everyone who comes to this place, this refuge of peace, of despair of love....of true pure love....true pure love.

P.S. I am crying now....and that's ok....I cry everyday....for what was and is....it's ok.

Love to all who come here....I wish you peace....

Oh mate - you have it right there my lovely friend.
It seems so strange to talk about love with people we have never met - and cannot possibly meet.
But in the most real sense, those of us who truly speak from our hearts, have met.
Perhaps suffering encourages us to find the supportive people we need - and on here - there is no question - we are all in need - and we all pick up each other.
Thank you everybody on here, for just being who you are.
I am so grateful.

Unfortunately not Nanny.
I mean - I used to be 'a star of stage and screen.'
(One day somebody might believe me.)
But we have to look for positives, or negatives may find us.
I may have a noisy head, but if I can believe I have a peaceful heart, then I'm heading in the right direction.
Meditation does give me some respite.
It is challenging, but so worthwhile.
xx

Hi emmalee
Thanks you for your kind words. T has been so so bad it brings on black thoughts.
If only time could turn back!! Hope you are doing ok? x
@emmalee

I am doing well, thank-you for asking. :huganimation:

This past March marked one full year with tinnitus for me, an anniversary that I would have rather not had to remember. There has been no change in the volume, unfortunately, but I have come to a place of acceptance and even peace with it all. Good days are more often experienced, thankfully. Sleep often eludes me, hopefully this will get better with more time.

Wishing you peaceful days ❤️

Hi @Jazzer

Just popped over here to see if you're OK. Haven't seen you around much, so I was starting to wonder. I do see you are in good hands today with @emmalee, @Daniel Lion, @Nanny chocolate and @Jcb so I am less concerned.

Hello to you all!

Take care, TC

Folks - Folks - Folks:
A couple of years back I started a page on here called "Cartoon Corner," but nobody seemed interested - nobody came to visit - so after a while I closed up shop, pulled the shutters down, and left the high street.
Fights seemed ever popular, but humour was out the door.
I thought

- to the lot of you!
However - as 'a wry smile' is good for our demeanour I think I might put the odd 'funny' up on here with 'Tinnitus Truths.'
There must be at least 5/6 regular visitors on here now, so will that be alright with you lot??
(I hope you say yes - but I'm gonna do it anyway!)

@TuxedoCat
Goodness me TC - could you run my fan club for me?
The money's not great, but just think of the exposure!!

I could get the A4 glossies out to you..

This may soon be the only page I visit. I know this could ruffle some feathers. And I apologize. But the Tinnitus Support page lately has some of the dumbest questions.

And I'm through with the downer topics. We have Tinnitus. Some of us also have Hyperacusis. We could offer suggestions if we find something that helps us. I do! We could try to do or say something positive. But no, its mostly "can't take it anymore, jumping off the bridge" topics, and dumb questions.

I can understand newbies grasping at straws. But folks that have had this for a long time still just whine, whine, whine. I don't whine and don't listen to whining. I try to do something about whatever ails me.

This page has some funny stuff, some great pictures, and mostly positive or uplifting images.

Dear Tex - thank you for lovely comments.
I have had severe Tinnitus for five years.
I want to live my life the very best way I can.
I decided to try to create a page that would display the kind of messages that I personally would like to come across.
I like to be given thought provoking items, of interest, of humour, and mostly, of messages that touch me deeply in an emotional sense, and help me to believe in the support and affection that we all need so badly.
Even though we all have this wretched thing, we are still 'human beans' - we still need to experience humour, wit, interest, and for want of a better word - the love of each other.
That may sound a bit "Wet" but it absolutely isn't.
'Uplifting' - the perfect word.

Thank you buddy,
Dave x
Jazzer.
