The stimulus deal does suck but that post is very misleading. Most of the bill is going toward Americans. $600 stimulus checks, enhanced unemployment insurance and small business loans make the biggest part of the bill. There's also billions for Food Stamps, renter assistance and the American entertainment industry. The bill sucks because it's not big enough but most of the money it does spend stays here.

The stimulus bill is a disgrace. I agree with Trump on something and the hell I'm in isn't frozen yet. Still doesn't mean Trump didn't screw up the response and pouted after he lost -- part of the reason why this mess is so bad in the first place. But damn, $600? lmao.

Yes I heard about it also includes loans to helps small business owners but why give money to overseas countries when Americans need it more, especially small business owners.

The countries stated in that list surely can handle themselves on their own. Other than Sudan I don't think any of those countries need any money from the USA. They are fine on their own.

Speaking of stimulus money, New Zealand has bought additional vaccines so that they can help our pacific neighbours such as Samoa, Tonga, Tokelau etc end COVID-19.

I have no problem with NZ helping these countries out as these countries need all the help they can get to stop the coronavirus from spreading and they are in a vulnerable position where their government don't have the resources to buy these vaccines.

I'm not saying they should get money. But I've seen that meme everywhere and it's implying strongly that most of the money went to foreign entities when in reality 99% of the money went to American businesses and individuals. It should be 100% but the graphic is misleading.

Yea the pic was misleading but $600 is not enough to live on, it won't even last a week. When New Zealand was in Level 4 lockdown in April, people who had lost their jobs were allowed to be on a benefit and those businesses who were struggling got COVID-19 relief payment.

I can't remember how much employees got if they couldn't work during the Level 4 lockdown as it depended on if they had lost hours from working but it was a weekly payment.

Oh that's good of New Zealand.

And yeah, $600 is chump change but it's all the Republicans (except for a handful) would agree to unfortunately.

This is what we had in New Zealand. The employees were paid up to 12 weeks depending on how many hours they lost due to the lockdowns.

"The Income Relief Payment is paid for up to 12 weeks while you don't have a job.

Depending on how often you worked, you could get:
  • $490 NZD per week if you were previously working 30 hours or more a week
  • $250 NZD per week if you were previously working 15 hours to 29 hours a week.
You don't need to pay tax on this payment.

The Income Relief Payment will stop after you've had 12 weeks of payments, or if your situation changes and you no longer qualify."

"Law and Order" President just pardoned the 4 Blackwater contractors who were serving time for opening fire on Iraqi civilians unprovoked and killing 14 unarmed people:

Nicholas Slatten, Paul Slough, Evan Liberty, and Dustin Heard

They were pardoned not because of new evidence exoneration them but because of the Erik Prince / Betsy DeVos connection.

Was the virus controlled well enough there after 12 weeks that this could end or did it have to be extended?

The unemployment rate in America is currently at about six percent, which isn't that bad. Hopefully it will drop, or at least not reach double digits, like it did in October, 2009 during the Great Recession.

More right wing terrorists (I know this is a dumb teenager but there were plenty of dumb teenager looters too):

White supremacists planned an attack on the US power grid if Trump lost the election, a mistakenly unsealed FBI affidavit reveals

Note: I realize terrorists can come from many different ideologies but there are conservatives who repeatedly claim that violence is a "left wing" problem but the reality is they are not reading about the right wing violence on their social media. I'm afraid this is only the beginning of the terrorism from the militia groups.

Well. I was right. I was just denied disability. I am the poster child of disability.

"BuT oH mY gOd, WoUlDn'T wAnT tO gIvE tOo MaNy FrEeBiEs! SoCiAlIsM!"

What's that? The toilet paper roll that Jeff Bezos was using, that was rolled with a continuous stream of $100 bills, just ran out. Well, of course, we have to replace that immediately.

I know, I know. Everyone gets denied the first time -- it's not personal. Doesn't mean my government isn't pathetic.

We spent months this year in the double digits and 6.7% is still high, especially when millions are in debt because the harsher part of the recession. It'll be interesting to see tho if it continues to drop or will it go back up due to the new COVID-19 lockdowns.

Trump calls Covid relief bill unsuitable and demands Congress add bigger stimulus payments

Looks like Trump might torpedo the deal. Cannot say I don't agree with him on this. I hope he does veto that POS stimulus bill Congress passed.
Apparently GOP politicians are not the only ones against Trump's veto. Even Amy Klobuchar is against raising the stimulus by calling it an ''attack on every American''. This doesn't add up, as she proposed a bill that offered a 4000 dollar tax credit for the unemployed, for which there is probably no majority in Congress. 2000 dollars would at least help both the unemployed and those who are living pay check to pay check. Can someone tell me the logic behind her behaviour?

I think it's fair to say that far right wing outnumbered far left violence in the last 25 years if we look at several studies. Here's one example:

Trump frequently accuses the far-left of inciting violence, yet right-wing extremists have killed 329 victims in the last 25 years, while antifa members haven't killed any, according to a new study

''President Donald Trump has accused far-left groups of inciting riots and violence, but in the last 25 years, no murders in the US have been linked to anti-fascists, while 329 murders have been linked to the far-right, according to new research.''

''Researchers at a think tank called the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) assembled a database of almost 900 politically motivated plots and attacks in the US since 1994, ending in May 2020, which was reviewed by The Guardian.''

''The review found that only one person's death in that period was linked to "antifa," a leaderless movement dedicated to combatting right-wing and white supremacist groups, and the person who died was the attacker.''

Because like most "moderates" in Washington, she's a fake fuck who only wants to disagree with Trump at every turn. Even when he's right.

It's incredibly frustrating, but unfortunately your story also applies to almost every single country on this freaking planet. As long as there is no objective method or machine that proves that we have tinnitus, it would be very hard or almost impossible to receive any form of governmental help, so all we can do is rely on the help of friends and family. I really do hope that the next administration will show more compassion and help you get the benefits you need to stay afloat.

In my country, it's the same deal with tinnitus. Were it not for my Asperger's (which is considered as a disability in the Dutch judicial system), I would not even have gotten social benefits.
