2020 US Presidential Election

There is a lot of cheating going on, especially with late mail-in ballots which all lean Democrat. If Democrats win, it is because they stole the election. It is quite obvious. The only way to convince Republicans that the Democrats did not cheat is to take this all the way to the Supreme Court. Otherwise, half the country will continue to think this is a stolen election.
Let me ask you a question:

It looks like Trump's path to victory is winning PA and Nevada. Biden is ahead in Nevada. If in the coming days, when Nevada resumes counting, it flips Trump and that is what gives Trump the victory, are you going to say that Trump stole the election? Or no, because democracy only matters when toddler orange-man doesn't get his way?

I will answer this question on my end. If the actual mail-in votes sway back in favor of Trump, I will not be happy, but I will not say it was undemocratic.

Wisconsin is apparently decided but will have a recount. Michigan is up in the air. It's laughable that it's so close. The MSM predicted a Democrat landslide again, didn't they? What does it take to admit the MSM has a dangerous liberal bias and can't be trusted?
I thought Biden will win by a landslide too but seeing how this election is neck and neck reminds me of the 2000 Presidential Election.

There has been some discussion in this thread about losing friends and family over this stuff and how "ridiculous" it is.

How can you be close friends with someone who believes that your voice in your government is fraudulent unless a petulant, childish moron gets his way?

I'm tired of people normalizing the Trump movement like times are similar to when Obama and Romney supporters disagreed. Of course, if an Obama and Romney supporter can't get along, that makes them snowflakes.

This is different. One group of people utterly opposes their "friends" and "loved ones" voice in government and supports someone whose strategy is division. I think it's sad when people lose friends over this stuff, but I don't find it all that surprising. If a Trump sycophant thinks that little of your voice, you should leave your abusive relationship.

And like any good abuser, they will play a mind game and say they are the ones oppressed. Unbelievable.

Not just MSM. It does show that the media had fake poll numbers once again. Obama and Biden knew different so Obama hit the campaign trail hard.

The stock market is up big today with high tech companies doing great. That is because rich liberal high tech and consumer controls the media. High tech and consumer online is big money rich Democrats and they control the lying fake media.

Foreigners want Biden to win, so that the US dollar will drop, With this, more debt and it will hurt the middle class in the longer run as the rich will place their wealth into trust.

I did not vote. I don't like either candidate or party. I did vote on issues both local and federal. Just tired of the middle class, the elderly and disabled being placed at the bottom.
Yeah, that's close enough. Leftists have all the power. "Capitalism" doesn't exist. You have crony Capitalism in which leftist oligopolists control everything. This is supposedly a stage that eventually leads to something close to communism.

Leftists are also cutthroat, violent and ruthless from wealthy Elites to your far left radicals that riot, commit violence and make demands via violence without stop. For the most part, right wingers complain online but some right wingers in Europe march through the streets holding signs but that accomplishes nothing too.

Saw this on a retweet:

"Trump: You have to stop counting in Michigan where I'm up. You have to start recounting in Wisconsin where I'm down. You have to stop counting in PA where I'm up. You have to keep counting in Nevada where I'm down. "

If I see this right, if Biden gets Nevada and Michigan, for which he has a narrow lead at the moment, he'll reach exactly 270 electoral votes and win?

Edit: Well, Nevada seems a bit unclear at the moment, but it seems that everything depends on its result.
Looks like it. Even if Trump gets Pennsylvania, Georgia and North Carolina, he will only achieve 265. He needed Wisconsin or Michigan.

If Trump somehow got Nevada, yeah, it would prevent Biden getting 270. I don't see it happening. I think it's likely this is stuck in challenging the count for a good while.

This is pretty crazy. I hope if Biden wins, he won't defund manned space exploration and be soft on China. A Republican senate and a Democratic house/president means that nothing too radical will get passed and we should get the stimulus this country needs. Sadly I expect Biden's handlers will focus on frivolous social issues and lining their own pockets (like Trump) rather than doing anything to halt the decline of the American middle class.

It's not certain yet if the Senate will go red. We may not know until January 5th who controls the US Senate.

Yeah, all the late mail-in ballots are miraculously all Biden, not even any independents apparently.

No red flag there.
I mean, the number of people voting for third party candidates is pretty low this season in general and the mail in vote has been in general overwhelmingly blue. The President has told his supporters to vote in person and they followed his advice.

Biden is already owned by China. Go research it. I linked a video on it but everyone else here just ignored it.

The MSM will just downplay it. It will be 4 years of the media overlooking corruption, theft and wrongdoing/ethics violations of everyone in the Biden administration.

Also, overlooking and ignoring attacks on white people especially those who aren't leftists although BLM and Antifa usually don't care one way or another about their political allegiances.

Trump is simply antidemocratic, he does not believe in democracy. Things start like that and then, down the road, you have Putin, or Nicolás Maduro, or... Germany had Hitler (remember Hitler was initially elected).

It is just surreal that there are candidates who do not want to count the votes. It is so antidemocratic! Why holding an election then? What Trump pretends is equivalent to a coup d'etat.

I utterly despise Trump, but he did outperform many people's expectations, win or lose.

Something telling is that when polled, Trump had a significantly higher percentage of people voting for him, as opposed to against the other guy. Some day soon, I hope Democrats develop a more populist message (that isn't hateful) that actually helps people, other than just stopping the Trump damage.

I think Trump is a moron, but he does have a talent for getting people to vote for him. He attracts large crowds. Most Democrats lack that talent. Surely, Republicans would have won this election against Biden by landslide if Trump wasn't so inspiring to vote against.

If Trump does lose this election, he has himself to blame. If he handled the coronavirus better he would have had a better chance at getting re-elected.

The economy needs to be fundamentally restructured, but no one has the balls to do it. So instead the media whips the masses into a frenzy about meaningless BS and the looting of America continues. Trump has no policy propositions for his second term and Biden can barely remember where he is.

Bernie had the crowds and the enthusiasm but the DNC really don't want a progressive party and want to appeal to this imaginary neolib majority (because that's what their rich donors prefer). The joke is they fought Bernie harder than Trump.

I would have voted for Bernie, as Biden knows that large Democrat corporations don't and never will have to pay taxes. This powerful money controls the media. We paid the price for Trump and we also pay the price for bought and owned Biden. Biden and his VP talk thru both sides of their mouths.

I genuinely wonder if Bernie would have done better. And by that, I like him more than Biden so I think he should do better. But even Biden got destroyed in Florida for the "fears of socialism." I wonder how big the effect would have been nationwide.

If Biden does lose, I will feel differently about this election than 2016. I pinned a lot on Bernie no-show supporters in 2016 because I thought Hillary was actually qualified. There's no way I can blame Bernie or his supporters if Biden loses this. The guy probably can't even tie his own shoes. We are voting for him based on his decency and his team of advisors.

I had Dutch, Walloon, and Belgian ancestry in America, starting in the the 1620's when they first settled New Netherlands. Much of their influence is still here, in Brooklyn, formerly Breukelen, and elsewhere in NYC, elsewhere in NYS, and more. The Dutch, and the settlers they sent, were very influential in the formation of the country, and their influence was responsible for the American Revolution and Democracy. I enjoyed my one visit to the Netherlands, some 20 years ago, but I could see that that they had a very skewed view of the United States, which they share with other European nations who don't have a clue due to propaganda they hear and see.
Ah, alright. I never understood the part of Dutch settlers and their role in the American Revolution. I have only heard that the Roosevelts, Van Buren and the Vanderbilts played some role economically & politically in the 19th/20th century, but that's about it.

I don't think that we see America through a particular lens. I would say that we generally had an amicable relationship with the US, given the fact that we were basically saved by the US (& the UK, for that matter) in WW2 + financially supported afterwards. However, this once amicable relationship changed in a negative way due to the Trump administration (e.g. remarks of Trump and his ilk, e.g. the American ambassador to Germany, that the EU should dissolve, rash unilateral decisions in relation to the Paris Agreement, ISIS, Jerusalem, Russia and NATO ).

If I could give a general view of my fellow compatriots about Trump, I would say that most people here consider him an incompetent clown who has malignant narcissistic tendencies, a lack of control over impulsive behaviour & as an untrustworthy politician who has put his interest and those around him first and those of citizens in his country second (if not last).

It is therefore better for the US (but also for us) that sanity returns with a president who has a bit of sense of decorum & respect for the rule of law. With Biden as president, I think the EU wants to have closer economic and political cooperation with the US, which could benefit more people than if we go our separate ways.

Don't forget "plug". Thanks Dutchies! (That word always sounded wrong to me as a kid).
It doesn't sound wrong at all @FGG.

Never thought the word ''plug'' was of Dutch origins. We don't even use this word often ourselves, but apparently it is included in the Dutch dictionary.

An interesting fact btw: some people think that the Pennsylvania Dutch are Amish from Dutch origins, but almost all the people of this community are actually of German descent.
