2020 US Presidential Election

US inflation at 7,9%. Great job Jay Powell

If the FED had any credibility left, they would raise interest rates at least 100 basic points next week.

Thanks God I got popcorn to watch Lagarde's speech. This is better than stand-up comedy. If those politicians in Brussels hired a Fraggle to run the ECB the puppet would do a better job than Lagarde.

Lagarde - that useless person who does not pay for anything herself (home, driver, etc all paid by taxpayers) - said that food prices in the EU will continue rising :(:bag:

Someone has to remove Lagarde from the ECB. Simple as that :dunno:

Kamala Harris, with her speech and answers to reporters questions in Poland, is a national embarrassment.

She speaks to everybody like they are in kindergarten. She cackles and laughs at totally inappropriate times. People are being killed, displaced and threatened, and she laughs.

This was her chance to change her image as a incompetent buffoon, and she completely negated it.

Europe overwhelmingly supported Biden and Harris for the White House in 2020, now they're facing the bitter reality of what they wished for.
Yeah it's quite off putting. Say what you want about Mike Pence, but the man knew how to present himself. He always left me impressed after the VP presidential debates.

You are saying Ukraine is Neo-Nazis?

Wow, you are right, it's pointless to argue with someone that believes that.

The leader of the country is a jew. You do know that?

Pointless.
I didn't say Ukraine was. The Neo-Nazi is a faction that the US is backing. Try research once in a while instead of listening to the boob tube.

It is very obvious that Putin never would have pulled this invasion of Ukraine if Trump had been in the White House. This poll, discussed below, took place in Feb. 2022, before Putin had accelerated his aggression to the point that we have seen recently. The choice of Biden and Harris was the biggest mistake Americans have made, in a very long time.

Voters believe Putin wouldn't have invaded Ukraine under Trump. Logic agrees

This is what I call being a fanatic... still talking about the clown after he was kicked out of the White House in a fair election.

Just busting your balls haha.

It just gets worse and worse, and there is a very good chance that she will become President before Biden's term is finished.

Kamala Harris knocked for laughing over refugee question as crisis in Ukraine worsens

Vice President Kamala Harris is coming under attack for laughing after being asked about the refugee crisis as the war in Ukraine sends more than 2.3 million mostly women and children fleeing the carnage.

The odd chuckling took place during a joint press conference with Harris and Poland President Andrzej Duda in Warsaw Thursday.

"A friend in need is a friend indeed," Harris said as she waited for Duda to answer a question about the U.S. being asked to shelter those on the run from the war. Harris was asked, according to multiple reports, to speed up the consular process so Ukrainian refugees with family in the U.S. could stay with them.

The blowback came fast and didn't let up into the night.

"It would be a tragedy if this woman won the presidency," Iuliia Mendel, the former spokeswoman for Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said in a tweet she later deleted.

I'm impressed with the hubris of people who know damn well that the election was as crooked as Washington, and more so with their compulsion to say so.
I do not know if the 2020 election was "crooked", as in one party deliberately fixing the ballots, but allowing the USPS to get as involved as they were in 2020, I am sure that a significant number of mailed votes were lost or discarded. The USPS is not qualified to handle voting, other than perhaps a small percentage of absentee ballots. In 2020, the number of mail-in ballots and other non-traditional ways of voting was double that of previous election years.

Mail sorters at the post office, dealing with tens of millions of mailed votes, cannot take the place of traditional polling places.

Biden will say anything, to pass the buck for inflation, which was already in place for months in 2021, well before Russia invaded Ukraine over the past few weeks. Biden handed the pandemic very badly, which caused all kinds of problems. Even Democrats admit this. The Washington Post (not the article below), which is partial to the Democratic Party, has said that inflation was not caused by the Ukraine invasion. The American Rescue Plan was 1.9 trillion dollars, which many economists say helped fuel inflation.

Biden is totally full of it.

Former Obama adviser: Don't blame Russia, blame Biden for inflation rates
'This is Biden's inflation and he needs to own it,' writes Rattner

MSNBC economic analyst and former Obama adviser Steven Rattner took President Biden to task on Thursday for claiming that Russian President Vladimir Putin's war in Ukraine is responsible for the soaring inflation Americans are facing at home.

Biden reacted to the staggering consumer price index report from the Labor Department in a statement Thursday, where he attempted to blame Putin for the documented 7.9% spike in consumer prices over the last 12 months.

This very early presidential election polls shows that the odds are equal, if there is a rematch between Biden and Trump, in 2024. I think that by then, Biden will quit or not be nominated but, if he runs, virtually any Republican nomiatee will probably beat him.

2024 rematch: Biden, Trump, deadlocked in new poll

According to a national poll released Friday by the Wall Street Journal, it's all tied up between the president and the former president at this extremely early point in the next presidential election cycle.

Voters were split at 45% in a hypothetical matchup between Biden and Trump, when asked who they would vote for in 2024. The poll was conducted March 2-7 and the results on the 2024 matchup question remain unchanged from the Journal's previous poll conducted in November.

Trump remains the most popular and influential politician in the Republican Party as he continues to play a kingmaker's role in the GOP 2022 primaries.

Let's see what that coward Jerome Powell decides this week on interest rates.

Let's hope that Paul Volcker, the ghost of past interest rate raises, appears in Scrooge Powell dreams and points the FED in the right direction.

As far as monetary policy and interest rates are concerned, Powell's FED is the most pathetic thing I have seen in my life.

No other central bank has achieved that degree of incompetence and widespread corruption, with the possible exception of their current European colleagues from the ECB, who are proving to be a disgrace for Europe.

Even those who voted for Biden, on CNN which is very anti-Trump. admit that he could win in 2024 against Biden.

Yes, of course, Donald Trump can win in 2024

(CNN)When I meet people and they find out I am a political reporter, they inevitably -- and immediately -- ask some version of this question: "Is he going to run again? And can he win?"

The "he" there -- just in case you've spent the last six years on another planet -- is Donald Trump. And the answers to those questions are "probably yes" and "definitely." As in, yes, Trump is probably going to run for president again in 2024. And, yes, he would have a very real chance of winning.

Let's take the second half of that question first. A new Wall Street Journal poll shows Trump and President Joe Biden each at 45% among registered voters in a hypothetical 2024 matchup, results that are largely unchanged since the last time WSJ asked the question in November.

Now Biden thinks his vice president is the first lady.

Biden refers to Kamala Harris as 'first lady' in latest gaffe
By
Kenneth Garger
March 15, 2022

President Biden committed another gaffe Tuesday – referring to Vice President Kamala Harris as "the first lady."

Biden made the mix-up while noting Harris wasn't with him at an event because her husband, second gentleman Doug Emhoff, tested positive for COVID-19 earlier in the day.

Looking at stock markets this morning it seems we need popcorn for another absurd session of the FED's Comedy Club tonight.

Powell's corrupt FED will for sure appease "the markets", this is, rich people who always have to be benefited artificially by any situation, no matter what.

While the 99% of population suffers rampant inflation, Jerome Powell's FED devoted itself to insider trading, corruption and doing exactly the opposite from what should have been done. Good job Jay!

There was indeed comedy at the FED's press conference today. The FED tried to pass a meagre raise of interest rates, of a mere 25 basic points as "hawkish". Despite being a disgrace as central banker, Jerome Powell deserves credit as the great comedian he is :greedy: :cyclops: :pompous:

The FED even dares to mention an inflation target of 2%, ignoring that inflation is close to 8% (official data), and the inflation that the average household is experiencing is closer to 15% than to the official data cooked by the BLS for the Federal Reserve... with that accuracy for data, that attention to detail, that closeness to reality, those guys would have done a great job auditing Enron, by the way!

Disclaimer: I thought BLS meant "bullshit" but apparently it means Bureau for Labour Statistics and those are the guys and girls who cook the CPI to make it look lower than it is.

Federal Reserve issues FOMC statement
For release at 2:00 p.m. EDT

Indicators of economic activity and employment have continued to strengthen. Job gains have been strong in recent months, and the unemployment rate has declined substantially. Inflation remains elevated, reflecting supply and demand imbalances related to the pandemic, higher energy prices, and broader price pressures.

The invasion of Ukraine by Russia is causing tremendous human and economic hardship. The implications for the U.S. economy are highly uncertain, but in the near term the invasion and related events are likely to create additional upward pressure on inflation and weigh on economic activity.

The Committee seeks to achieve maximum employment and inflation at the rate of 2 percent over the longer run. With appropriate firming in the stance of monetary policy, the Committee expects inflation to return to its 2 percent objective and the labor market to remain strong. In support of these goals, the Committee decided to raise the target range for the federal funds rate to 1/4 to 1/2 percent and anticipates that ongoing increases in the target range will be appropriate. In addition, the Committee expects to begin reducing its holdings of Treasury securities and agency debt and agency mortgage-backed securities at a coming meeting.

In assessing the appropriate stance of monetary policy, the Committee will continue to monitor the implications of incoming information for the economic outlook. The Committee would be prepared to adjust the stance of monetary policy as appropriate if risks emerge that could impede the attainment of the Committee's goals. The Committee's assessments will take into account a wide range of information, including readings on public health, labor market conditions, inflation pressures and inflation expectations, and financial and international developments.

Voting for the monetary policy action were Jerome H. Powell, Chair; John C. Williams, Vice Chair; Michelle W. Bowman; Lael Brainard; Esther L. George; Patrick Harker; Loretta J. Mester; and Christopher J. Waller. Voting against this action was James Bullard, who preferred at this meeting to raise the target range for the federal funds rate by 0.5 percentage point to 1/2 to 3/4 percent. Patrick Harker voted as an alternate member at this meeting.

Implementation Note issued March 16, 2022

Kamala Harris has lost another key employee from her staff, this time it is her deputy press secretary. Considered by many to be the worst vice president in the history of the United States, Harris is said to be extremely difficult to work for.

Harris' deputy press secretary leaving her office in latest high-profile departure

Vice President Kamala Harris' deputy press secretary, is leaving her office, according to a White House official.

Singh becomes the latest high-profile departure from the vice president's office, which suffered a turbulent first year due to missteps and messaging failures. She will join the Department of Defense.

Ernesto Apreza, Harris' senior adviser for public engagement, will become deputy press secretary and is expected to focus on engaging local and state press, as well as specific key coalition groups. Apreza previously served on the Biden-Harris campaign, as well as on the then-mayor of Seattle's staff.

Last year, communications director Ashley Etienne and press secretary Symone Sanders announced they would be vacating their positions. Those departures were followed by the exits of two additional staffers in the new year.

I knew Biden would be bad, but never imagined that it would go as terrible as it has during his first year, and more.

54% of Americans think Biden will be rated among the worst presidents: Voters give Joe a dire assessment compared to ratings of Trump and Obama
  • Both former Presidents Donald Trump and Barack Obama performed better in the survey
    • More than half of likely voters surveyed said they believed President Joe Biden would go down as one of the worst American presidents in history
    • A Rasmussen Reports and The National Pulse poll found that 54 per cent of likely voters believed Biden would be ranked among the worst

I would like to know how many Ukrainian refugees will the US accept.

Is the US going to collaborate with Europe on this? I doubt it.

Looks like Donald Trump has been totally victorious in the legal battle with porn actress Stormy Daniels. She now owes him money.

Stormy Daniels Says She'd Rather Go To Jail Than Pay Donald Trump After Losing Appeal
The adult film actor has been ordered to fork over $300,000 to the former president for legal fees.

Adult film actor Stormy Daniels said Monday she "will go to jail before I pay a penny" to Donald Trump after losing an appeal in her failed defamation lawsuit against the former president.

Daniels made her defiant stand on Twitter after a federal appeals court upheld a lower court's ruling that she pay Trump $300,000 for attorney's fees, CNBC reported.
