2024 US Presidential Election

DeSantis just dropped out of the race and is now endorsing Trump.

Things must be getting very uncomfortable for Biden. Perhaps he'll go out and sniff some children's hair, for relief.

Trump is boasting about passing another cognitive test. I wonder who is insisting he take these tests? I wouldn't think that boasting about having your dementia level checked would instill confidence in the voters.

Maybe it's because he is constantly misspeaking with his mouth running afoul?

Latest example that occured at a New Hampshire campaign rally where Trump claimed to have "aced" a recent cognitive test and struggled to pronounce the word "climate," footage from the event showed:

"But it's certainly not great for your clime. Your clime. They call it climate."

This is where his personality disorder really works against him. He cannot help but project outward his own insecurities.

So he will keep drawing even more attention to his diminishing mental capabilities even though he believes he's taking people's attention away from it.

It'll be fascinating to see when he truly loses it mentally. He won't be able to stop saying how smart he is or how Biden has dementia even when he literally can't make sense.

Everybody in the public eye makes mistakes, no matter how smart they are. Trump can speak for hours, Biden can hardly read the teleprompter.

The truth is, that Biden, has lost the faith of his party, and the country, due to numerous screw-ups, not the least of which is two and a half illegal aliens, many of whom are criminals or undesirables, that he has allowed to enter the country.

Somebody has to clean up his messes, Trump knows how to do it and I'm sure that he will pick a good VP, to help. We must dump Biden and Kamala, and then we will see some signs of peace and security again.

"I don't agree with Nikki Haley on everything, but we agree on this much: She is not Nancy Pelosi," Biden wrote in a post on X, formerly Twitter, attaching a campaign ad that knocked Trump for the mix-up and highlighted concerns about his mental fitness.

I agree with Joe. He's the best. Trump, on the other hand...

"A lot of times I'll say that President Obama is doing a lousy job, meaning that Obama is running the show," Trump said during his rally. "They'll say, Donald Trump doesn't know who our president is. No, no. A few months ago I took a cognitive test my doctor gave me, I said give me a cognitive test just we can, you know, and I aced it. I also took one when I was in the White House."

Actually, Donny, the false claim that Obama is running the show is further proof of your mental decline, which you would know, if you weren't in fact in said mental decline.

Damn shame the irony of this is lost on you and your followers.

This is a very poor argument for favoring Biden who now has the distinction of having the least favorable poll results for a president in 15 years - worse than Trump or Obama.

The odds are high that Biden will be replaced by Kamala at some point. Do we want her to run this country? If he at least had a VP with half a brain, it would not be that bad. A lot depends on who Trump picks as his VP, and in the unlikely event that whoever he chooses appears to be worse than Kamala, I would vote for Biden and her.

I watched North Dakota Governor Burgum on ABC today. I think he would be a very good VP pick. Burgman was grilled about the 2020 election, like they do every Republican guest on their program that supports Trump.

I'm quite sure he will be on Trump's cabinet at some position. Trump said he will pick a VP that would be a competent President should something happen to his health. Governor Burgum has a Presidental look to him and also has a nice demeanor. I see he has MBA from Stanford Business School, so he must be very bright.

At this point, I think Nikki Haley is playing the long game. There's a significant non-zero chance that Trump will be removed from play, either from arrest, being removed from the ballot for insurrection, or becoming sick.

And even if he doesn't lose, she's still young, has the support of the GOP PAC money, and hasn't done anything to damage her "brand" during this run. She'll be sitting there in '28, still only 56 years old, and because she isn't in government she won't have to take any potentially unpopular votes in the interim.

She'll write a book, do a bunch of paid corporate talks about being a woman in leadership, line up her campaign team, do an occasional interview on Bloomberg and Fox to aim for the older GOP crowd, then transfer the remaining money into a future fund and be sitting ready to go whenever she declares for '28.

But you said you're considering voting for Biden. What's up with that?
The VP is very important in this race as Biden and Trump are aging fast. Whichever one wins may have health issues during his term that require time off, which would mean that the VP will take over. For this reason, if Trump chooses a VP who I feel is a worse choice than Kamala, I will probably vote for Biden.

Rep. Nancy Mace:

Today I'm endorsing Donald J. Trump for President.

I don't see eye to eye perfectly with any candidate. And until now I've stayed out of it. But the time has come to unite behind our nominee.

To be honest, it's been a complete shit show since he left the White House.

Our country needs to reverse all the damage Joe Biden has done.

By every barometer, our lives and our nation were better under President Trump. The economy was booming, our border was locked down and our nation and her allies were safer because our adversaries feared him.

Donald Trump's record in his first term should tell every American how vital it is he be returned to office.

Biden has to go, especially with his progressively worse dementia. I don't see how Trump can pick a VP worse than Kamala Harris.

I think Bill O'Reilly's No Spin News is the best source of fact based political news. He is my favorite journalist/historian to watch.

I don't think that Trump could pick a worse VP, either. It is instructive that Trump has recently said that he thinks Kamala would make a better president than Biden.

How about New York GOP Representative Elise Stefanik? Her defense of Trump about a jury's conclusion that Carroll proved that Trump did sexually abuse her in a department store dressing room nearly 30 years ago may qualify her for VP, especially with her stale MAGA talking point that the focus on Trump's sexual assault is a media witch hunt.

Trump was never convicted of a crime. As far as the E. Jean Carroll abuse hoax, she never called Bloomie's security or the police. I have lived in NYC my entire life and have never heard of a man being in the women's dressing room of a department store. It just does not happen but if it did, the man would probably be arrested, even if no abuse took place.

Several years after the alleged incident, which was never reported or spoken about, she posted on Social Media that she was a huge fan of The Apprentice, and on another occasion even went so far as to joke that she would have sex with Trump if her eyes were closed.

Carroll was 52 years old, not exactly a young, scared woman, at the time the alleged abuse took place. Trump was 49 years old, with no history of this type of behavior.

Carroll, now 80 years old, is currently suing him for an additional 10 million dollars.

Famous people are often targets of money-hungry opportunists, and Trump was victimized by Carroll in a court case that took place in a city that was against him. If he had not gone into politics, this case would never have happened.

Kamala Harris would never have gotten political appointments if she had not been the mistress to powerful California Democrat, Willie Brown. She received gifts and cushy tax-payer-funded public jobs, from this married man, 30 years older than herself, who helped her ascend to the position of becoming Vice President, in exchange for sex.

So, is that a no on Stefanik?

I only know that she is a Harvard graduate with experience in government, and is not politically extreme. I cannot say who my first choice would be for Republican VP would be, but she's OK. She's a Trump supporter but not on every issue. I'd rather have her as president if Trump wins but is out of commission than Kamala if their ticket wins and Biden is incapacitated for some reason.

When Biden's two-and-a-half million illegals grow in numbers and spread, many of his current supporters will find out what NYC is now experiencing, due to them coming here.

I think women are going to be showing up big time on November 5th. The concern about abortion access has become a significant factor for them, and it's evident with how the GOP is facing losses even in traditionally red districts in these recently held special elections. Like the Florida State house seat which was flipped by the Democrats this past week. They're probably going to give Biden the upper hand in key battleground states. Also, let's not forget incumbency advantage that favors sitting presidents (public officials in general though) seeking re-election.

I still believe incumbency is the single most influential predictor in American history for election outcomes, be it presidential or otherwise. Odds seem pretty favorable for Biden.

As predicted, Haley came in second in the New Hampshire primary but was a very close second place. She's staying in the race likely hoping to secure as many delegates as possible and hoping Trump is convicted and sentenced before the general election so she can claim the Republican party has to drop Trump and she steps in as the GOP nominee. The problem is Trump voters will not accept it and all hell will break lose within the GOP.

And as the last challenger standing, if Trump gets disqualified, sent to prison, becomes unignorably senile to the point he is forced to withdraw, or keels over from a syphilis and Big Mac induced heart attack, she is the nominee by default. She just has to stay in until the convention, and I say she's got a 50-50 chance of being the nominee.

I agree that incumbency is the single most influential predictor in American history for election outcomes and gives Biden the upper hand. Fortunately it didn't help Trump in 2020 due to his ineffective campaign and general unlikability.

I also agree that Trump claiming responsibility for undoing Roe is also going to hit him big time in the general.

I thought that college educated women were anathema to the Republican party, especially those with government experience. What do they call them? Elites, I think.

Things have changed, the education level of Republican voters for Trump has been reported to be higher, lately, according to an article in the NYT, Jan. 14, 2024, How College-Educated Republicans Learned to Love Trump Again.

IMHO if the schools and universities had not promoted anti-Americanism and socialistic ideals for decades, the Democratic Party would not be where it is today.

Too bad for college educated elite as Trump voters are predominantly poorly educated; just as Trump said he loves them.

This Republican turn of the college educated elite is not really surprising as those quoted the article are mostly Trump's peers by their ages listed and avid Fox consumers.

If women want the state to control their bodies, then they should vote Republican.

Certainly, Trump was historically unpopular his entire presidency, especially with the pandemic fiasco. And yet, he did come remarkably close in securing a second term. He fell short by only 81,139 votes across four swing states... it shows how powerful incumbency advantage can be though.

That's also why I've stopped bothering with Biden's approval ratings or those "who likes Biden" polls. Many of these polls are poorly worded, and some of the answer options are just ridiculous. Most of the options don't cast Biden in a favorable light.

Of course the numbers are going to be bad for Biden anyways. MAGA Republicans hate any Democrat on the ballot and the more left wing Democrats think he's too much of a centrist. But will people vote for him is what matters here.

Fortunately for Biden, his approval rating is not the correct measurement of how many people will eventually vote for him. It's Trump's high unfavorable rating that's the key, and it's not showing signs of dropping anytime soon.

And, in that sense, I think it's fair to say the Democrats have finally caught on after their lesson with Hillary. As long as Republicans keep parading around clowns like Trump and his ilk as ideal candidates, the Democrats will band together against them. And most moderates don't give two shits about the woke-obsessed shit and abortion banning that the republicans are currently selling. They care about jobs and the economy. And Biden is doing fine on that end relatively speaking. The S&P 500 and Dow Jones just hit record highs in the last few days too.

I think Biden will edge out Trump narrowly. It will be similar to the 2012 presidential election.

If women want the state to control their bodies, then they should vote Republican.
The most intense state control of bodies was during COVID-19 and primarily due to Democrats. The forcing of millions of people to take dangerous, untested drugs has resulted in mass distrust of the government by men and women of both parties. Over 65% percent of the country believes that a lab leak from Fauci's Viral Research lab in Wuhan, China was the source of COVID-19. Estimates of the number of worldwide deaths from COVID-19 run from 7 to over 20 million people.

In 2020, if the "college-educated" voters were better informed than the "poorly educated" Trump voters, why did the former vote for a man who promised to solve the COVID-19 crisis, with absolutely no plan to do so? Over 600,000 additional Americans died from COVID-19 during Biden's term, which was 200,000 higher than the number of deaths during Trump's term. If Biden had an ounce of self-respect and honesty in what was left of his inferior brain, he would have apologized and resigned in disgrace for his lies and failures, which are in no way limited to COVID-19.

Here is my nightmare scenario: Trump loses another close election and spends the NEXT 4 years whipping up his base and dividing the country vowing to run again in 2028.
I'm expecting a Trump-Vivek ticket to easily win this November. The border will be closed and no more $ for Ukraine. Trump will only serve one term because of his age. Biden will be in a nursing home before this November election because of his worsening dementia. The majority of Americans will be relieved because the Biden-Harris administration shit show will be finally over with.

GOP should also take the lesson of Hillary Clinton to heart too. Hillary's biggest problem in 2016 is that a lot people hated her on a personal level and she lost an election that, on paper, should have been a breeze for her. On the right, they painted her as the ultimate liberal nightmare and on the left she was a war monger which led to conservatives turning out while liberals stayed home. With Trump, people hate him on a level far greater than Hillary and that hatred reaches all the way to the center. He's a weak AF candidate. He'll have a tough battle with voter turnout not exactly in his favor.
