The Secret Service declined an offer from local law enforcement to use drone technology at the rally where a gunman took shots at former President Donald Trump, an anonymous whistleblower told Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO).

Hawley revealed in a letter published Thursday to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas that the whistleblower said the Secret Service “repeatedly” objected to using a drone that was capable of identifying and neutralizing an active shooter.

 

Trump literally talked about cuts to entitlements in recent months. There's even video out on YouTube of him saying it. He was probably backpedaling later after the outcry from average Americans.

 

I do not think Kamala Harris can beat Trump. She knew how bad Biden's decline was and never said anything. Those who control the Democratic Party probably threatened him with the 25th Amendment if he did not drop out. It would serve them right if they lost in November.

Norway has open borders, and the murder rate was 0.5 per 100 000 inhabitants in 2021. Meanwhile, the murder rate in the US was 6.8.

Fine, we're pretty small and isolated from the rest of the world. What about Germany? It has a population of 80 million and is pretty centralized (refugee crisis and all) — murder rate: 0.9.

Well, at least there's no cartel wreaking havoc at the German border. What about Turkey? It borders Syria, which has been in civil war for 13 years, and Iraq, which... well, you know. And let's not forget that whole ISIS ordeal. Murder rate: 2.5.

What about Alaska? It borders a bunch of Canadian trees. Murder rate: 10.2.

Opinions that favor Kamala from Europe are fine - but Europe is not the United States. They are our allies and competitors. I would not presume to know what is best for Norway, England, Germany, France, etc., and I doubt that people in those countries know or care what the people in the United States need and want.

It appears that many people from Europe who support Biden, and now Kamala, prefer war to peace. I'm sorry to inform them that Trump is not a War Hawk and will likely not help to continue the fighting and destruction in Europe, the Middle East, or elsewhere if he wins - which is highly possible.

 

Bill O’Reilly said if you want Socialism, vote for Harris and the Democrats, and if you want Capitalism, vote for Trump and the Republicans. Europeans and other people around the world's viewpoints don’t matter as they cannot vote in U.S. elections.

 

There was an overflow crowd last night at the Trump-Vance rally in St. Cloud, MN. This is about 120 miles north of Mankato, near where I’m from. Maybe Minnesota will turn Red this year? Democrats don’t want to pass the SAVE Act so that only legal U.S. citizens can vote; what does that tell you?

Specifically, the bill prohibits states from accepting and processing an application to register to vote in a federal election unless the applicant presents documentary proof of U.S. citizenship.

 

I've gathered that the Democrats are more or less opposed to the SAVE Act because it wouldn't solve any real issues. Moreover, it's seen as an extra barrier to voting or a form of voter suppression.

Honestly, though, in Europe, it's pretty much standard law to present your passport or equivalent ID to vote at any national or international level. When people don't vote here, it's usually just because they can't be bothered to begin with.

To me, it seems like a minor inconvenience in order to improve voter identification, but I suppose there's something more to it that I'm missing here. Could anyone weigh in?

 

House Speaker Mike Johnson says that the Democrats are opposed to the SAVE Act because they want to turn illegal aliens into voters.

 

The problem is that there is no national ID card in the US (the closest thing being a social security card, which is kind of a de facto ID but technically not valid ID), and both major parties are firmly against it (because anti-federalism, the surveillance state, yada yada). Meanwhile, millions of Americans don't have a passport or a driver's license, which are disproportionately people of color.

 

Trump is a narcissist and a total moron, now with signs of dementia, and his administration was both ineffective and damaging. It was ineffective because he did not do much about curbing immigration or sealing the border. This is damaging because he signed off tax breaks for the ultra-rich and corporations (giving scraps to others), which they did not need. He also allowed the economy to be flooded with helicopter money during COVID-19. Biden doubled down on that, but Trump started it. Things take time to work themselves through the economy. It is funny how the masses think the administration's actions immediately affect the state of the country and the economy in particular.

I consider Democrats a force of pure evil, even if I am not really religious anymore. They are hell-bent on murdering unborn kids, promoting the mutilation of children, and driving social divides even further. Really, their #1 target is women, I can't think of another political force hating womenhood as much as they do. Through the economic policies that force women to work, they make motherhood reserved for those with means (hey, get an abortion, so you don't miss work!) or those dependent on social welfare (100% bought votes). Then they destroy women's sports, etc. Women are the foundation of the nuclear family. They hate the idea of families because these are the danger to the totalitarian state they would love to have, so I guess that's why they went after women. Of course, they also cater to the military-industrial complex, though here, I do not think Trumpsters would be much better, though the anti-war rhetoric on the right is encouraging.

Ultimately, I consider Trump a lesser evil, though he may be more economically damaging. It is a horrible choice and reflects what this society has become. Selfish, ignorant, tribal, angry, lacking day-to-day social connections, lacking ethics, and this is visible on both ends. When some cracks started to appear 15-20 years ago, I thought that the predictions of the decline of Western civilization, and the United States in particular, were grossly exaggerated. Now, I am nearly convinced this will not end well. I do not know what can make people realize they are being played and manipulated, and the real enemy is the ruling ultra-rich class. But then I am also perplexed why the ultra-rich play this game; they are a bit like an arsonist setting their own village on fire, and I am not sure this is in their interests in the long run, either. I guess it is every man for themselves.

 

If Trump is a moron, then Biden is an imbecile, and Kamala is an idiot.

She got into politics by prostituting herself, this is undeniable, and was chosen by Biden because she claims to be "Black", despite claiming in the past, to be of Indian descent, the latter of which Trump brought up today in Chicago.

She has never been well-liked, but the anti-Trump media, which is the majority, is now pushing for her to win.

As I said, I'd much rather have whoever is chosen be her VP than her as president. She's been a major reason our country is overrun with illegal aliens who are costing our cities and states many billions a year, as well as the robberies and murders they commit. Hopefully, Trump will win, seal the border, and deport millions of illegals ASAP.

I didn't even vote for Trump in 2016, but once Biden chose Kamala in 2020, I voted for him because he had done well during his time in office. Of course, if you prefer war, inflation, rising crime, tens of millions of illegals every year, and more horrors, by all means, vote for Kamala - she will deliver what you want.

Trump indirectly calls the first interviewer a horrible person right out of the gate, and it only gets worse after that.

The host was 35 minutes late and was extremely rude to Trump from the get-go. How was he supposed to act? Are you a member of the LGBTQ community? I have nothing against them, but they all seem to detest Trump for some reason.

Interestingly, Harris was supposed to be at the National Association of Black Journalists conference in Chicago, either in person or remotely, but was not there when it occurred. Is she hiding in the basement, like Biden did, which Tom Cotton asked? They only wanted Kamala and did not think that Trump would show up, and when he did, they tried to discourage him from staying by making him wait a half hour, using bad sound on stage, etc. He did not act the way they had expected. This is a man who was shot at a few weeks ago and hit by a bullet, and he was not about to be intimidated in the least at that conference or anywhere else.

If the Democrats had planned to replace Biden with a candidate who would make a decent president, Trump may have changed his mind about running and let another Republican run. He is not a far-right demagogue or corrupt; he only wants to see the country do better than it can under people like Biden and Harris. To get elected in 2016, and during his failed campaign in 2020, he had to pander a bit, like all politicians do, and in his case, it was the religious right. Now that he is established in politics, he has changed some policies to reflect a more mainstream conservative agenda. The average American will do much better under him than Kamala, for certain. RFK Jr., who is a leftist on many issues, would be a better choice than Kamala, as well.
