2024 US Presidential Election

The source of this meme is actually quite amazing. My friend runs a school newspaper for a high school in suburban Twin Cities, and his student wrote an article about how the school nurse was charging money for menstrual pads to students. The congressional rep for the district read that article and got a bill passed that allowed schools to provide students with free menstrual supplies. The Trump side is using this as a way to attack him for some ridiculous reason.

You can disagree with his politics, but I'd like to hear a rational argument for why our government dollar shouldn't go toward making people's lives easier. I've yet to hear a rational argument from the Trump side, and I suspect they realize they have nothing because their attacks get more and more ludicrous the longer this goes on.

 

During the BLM/George Floyd riots in Minnesota, more than 1,500 businesses and buildings burned, resulting in over 500 million in property damage statewide. Many cops and protestors were injured, and at least three deaths resulted from the unrest.

Walz's new boss, Kamala Harris, bailed out people responsible for this.

 

I think the majority of Americans would agree with Texas Governor Greg Abbott:

 

J.D. Vance is not "extreme right-wing" - he is conservative, similar to Trump, although they are not the same on all issues, which is to be expected.

The only widespread violence in the streets during Trump's term was the riots associated with the police killing of George Floyd, and this had nothing to do with the Trump administration or his followers. Do a little research on the destruction in Minnesota, where Tim Walz was governor when this happened in his state.

There were no wars in the Middle East or Ukraine when Trump was president. How anybody could prefer the situation we have today is beyond my understanding, but the Harris supporters are this way. The illegal aliens that she has allowed in, by the millions, are destroying cities and states across the country due to the amount of money it costs for housing, medical care, food, clothing, education, etc, not to mention the crime that many of them are responsible for.

America is not paved with gold - we work hard for our money, and most of us will hopefully not vote for Harris and Walz.

I am aware of the damage from the unrest-it happened in my backyard. It was only eclipsed by the pain in the community over the Minneapolis police department being responsible for the death of a man in broad daylight. The scars are still visible and raw here in Minneapolis, yet businesses have reopened, and life continues. I fixed my tire yesterday at one of those businesses affected by the riots.

Kamala Harris had zero jurisdiction over Minnesota in June 2020 as a VP candidate for Joe Biden. Why would anybody think she “bailed out the people responsible for this”?

 

You're mistaken. That was due to the Black Lives Matter rioting after George Floyds’ death. The Democrats started the defund the police movement. Republicans back the Blue. It seems like almost all of the foreigners (including @Daniel Lion who lives in communist Laos) are on the side of the corrupt Democrats.

The Democrats refuse to even go to the southern border and are largely responsible for approximately 70,000 Fentanyl deaths per year created by the Biden/Harris open border. The Republicans want to close the border and take out the Mexican cartels. That is why Mayorkas was impeached in the House.

 

It has been 18 days since Kamala Harris has been the presumptive nominee, and she has not presented her platform nor answered any questions.

What about the economy? What is her plan regarding the border and the millions of illegals? What will our position be with Ukraine; are we going to keep spending 100s of billions of dollars on them?

Nobody knows what she plans to do if she wins. All she does is say that Trump is terrible.

Even Biden, despite having dementia, was able to answer questions.

Biden and Harris have brought in illegal aliens who rob, assault, rape and murder.

There was an assault and rape by two of them in my city yesterday, near a migrant shelter. When it's close to home, it's different than being in another city or country which has not yet experienced this.

We need to deport at least one million of these migrants immediately, as J.D. Vance has recommended, and more shortly.

Kamala will be a disaster for this country if she wins. She can't even hold a normal press conference, much less deal with problems the current administration has caused.

 

In the sense that she hasn't held a press conference, yet? I wonder if that's part of the current strategy.

 

It's such a big problem, you have to wonder why the Republicans didn't want to pass a bipartisan negotiated bill to address the issue. Oh wait, we know why. It was advantageous to Trump for it to remain an issue during the election.

 

She has no strategy. She can't answer questions because whatever she says has to be scripted. I assume she's being tutored because, eventually, she will have to do it.

She has copied Trump's idea of eliminating taxes on tips as she needs support, and that one resonated with a lot of people. She is scheduled to release a list of policies soon.

So far, she's agreed to have one debate with Trump, but he's asked for three. If she messes up one or more times as badly as Biden did in the Biden-Trump debate, it will hopefully mark the end of any possibility of her winning the election.

 

It would be impossible for one person on this thread to change another person's opinion. As I have read this entire thread, people are polar opposites of each other and are primarily just lobbing hate bombs.

Politics causes such division it makes me sick. And I have been involved in the political process to a great extent, serving on the leadership team for men and women who run for US House.

If Trump wins in 2024, Elon Musk has said he would like to take a position in the White House, serving on a government efficiency committee to cut government waste.
