Any New Hopeful Treatments?

I had an audio-related career that includes wearing monitoring headphones for most of the workday. I have hyperacusis combined with my tinnitus and I can't handle having headphones on anymore. Most of my hobbies were also either loud or audio-related. I get by and try to occupy myself with whatever I can but focusing on things is extremely hard so quiet/passive activities are difficult to enjoy. I manage because I can't kill myself (hopefully I'll get there, for now I'm afraid of messing it up and making the situation even worse) but there's no joy in it. I don't really wallow anymore, but it is what it is. *shrug*
I am so sorry. I know the feeling......Bloody ears

How are you feeling now?

Do you still hear your T only in quiet rooms? How long did it take for you to get to that stage? Do you feel like you have been stuck at that stage, or have you been experiencing some improvements?

@threefirefour
Am I right that "somatic tinnitus" is tinnitus caused by something in the body, but not by snail damage (SNHL)?

Should we hope for this device if tinnitus is caused by damage to the cochlea / hearing loss?

ps. What about decibel therapeutics, are they still far from any tests?

Is it the Clinical report for the Phase 2 of Susan Shore's trial for tinnitus?

https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/study/NCT03621735

Because the results will only be announced in January 2023.

And so hard to believe that it could help.
Yes, that's the second phase of Susan Shore's trial. A thread on the device can be found here.

The University of Minnesota is working on a similar device. Kelpiemsp is participating in their currently ongoing Phase 2 trial and has experienced positive effects:
It is possible there is some marginal gains going on. I.E. it's possible that the louder the T the more the hyper activity and thus the more of an effect. I have no idea. Let me be clear that my T has in no ways been eliminated. But it has certainly been reduced :)
I had a session yesterday. And well my T is as low as it has been in recent memory. They will no longer tell me the timings, but I just finished session 10 and 13, 14, 15, and 16 are the actual trial. But whatever they did yesterday... please take my money. A fan on low plus the crickets (real!!!!) masked my T last night. But I didn't even need to mask it. Oh what a pleasant day this will be:)

And Neuromod (Mutebutton) is also working on a device based on bimodal stimulation. They are planning on publishing the results from their latest study in 1H209 and their device might make it to the market next year.
