Right, so you know I had/have some major grievances with my job (exhibition design), well, I've jumped ship and I'm being trained as conservator instead.

Basically, I had a training day with the lead conservation officer of our museums, and I said I hated my job and I like the idea of conservation, so he said, "well come work for me then."

As simple as that. So now ladies and gentlemen (& all those in between), I am now a conservationist for museum objects and artefacts...

So here is a photo of me taken by my new work partner. :)

Best thing about the job, is working in a laboratory - that shit be cool!

Nah she was right all along...

What a geek! Just look at her... those glasses and the big jumper q-tipping that birdy and herself into ages of dust and death!

And you can tell she loves it!

Goodnight...
Drilling starts in exactly 7 hours...

I always wanted to be a geek! :watching:
I think I've now achieved that now, with this look and this job.

What I'll do, is find my lab coat and gloves.. that will make for a better "geek" picture. ;)
Joking aside, very proud of you Miss Stephens!
Thanks @Exit. Like I always say, tinnitus robbed me of my silence, and I'll be damned if it robs me of my life and ambitions too!

If you want to be GEEK, just take a photo of glasses with a computer and look super focused. :D

If you really want to be in real life, you can take my job and spend 8 hours of your day looking at a screen, which I happen to have never cared about. Now with tinnitus it's hard to concentrate, but before it was an amazing job. ;)

Only if I was going eat them. :)
Emmmmmm I think them stuffed birds may taste like styrofoam but a dash of tobasco sauce would flavour it a bit.

One time while taking care of an elderly couple, the old guy had two stuffed fish in a glass tank, feckin hell they looked to be a million years old, all crumbly and parts missing.

Then he asked if we knew who could repair it. Yer joking, right?

I'm a web developer ;) so I think it's a job for those who like logic and reasoning.
The tinnitus affects the reasoning and concentration part a lot.
I'll just chime in that I believe you can improve in that regard. I work full time as a programmer, mostly scripting and automation. I don't advise anyone to utilize hearing protection 24/7, but if one's forced to, habituation eventually kicks in(given it's not very severe). Sometimes these sounds are really intrusive, but it pretty much never impacts my concentration because it's the only thing I've listened to straight for 7 months.

Keep at it and you'll do good.
