Chit Chat and All That...

:p
Hahaha! Brilliant!

As we're dishing out love today - I'll jump on the band wagon and declare my love for @Wrfortiscue

Your humour is awesome! Especially for an American. :p ;)
Aww you're too nice but if you think about it I'm borderline creepy. Lol I mean I mention watching from a distance a lot... ahem. I hope you're feeling better btw so you can get it on like Donkey Kong today haha  Thanks for thinking of me

@aura, sorry you haven't recovered yet, I don't know why you're getting worse but I understand it totally sucks. I woke up with a bad spike today, it's been a while. Being careless and forgetting about your tinnitus is great but when it's sensitive it can strike anytime. High sodium or several noise events from my son yesterday may have caused my spike. I hope you can find relief soon.

@Exit, I saw your post about me getting some, well I wouldn't count on it lol. Wife and I both have low sex drives. Every now and then the stars align and we go at it like bunnies... then it dies for a good while again. It is what it is lol.

Since @Steph1710 gave me a shoutout, I want to follow her and give some valentine's love to @Damocles, @ZFire and I see you too from afar @NYCGuy lol.

3 week spike after 10 years?

Geez... I guess I'll make myself comfortable, long road ahead!
Ahh, I didn't mean to discourage you, Aura.

It goes different for everyone.

Ok, keep it as a safety net and not as an everyday thing. It can be pretty hard getting off of it if taken for a prolonged time.

This thread is the best. Mrs. UKB keeps hearing me chuckle. I swear she's beginning to think I'm reading the antics of a gang of lunatics on the Internet rather than researching Tinnitus Talk

No doubt, the best thread hands down.

Hi Chit Chat Family, it's been along time.

Love you guys.

Happy New Year.

Wishing you fine people the best.

Thank you for making me smile, @Exit! :)

I'm in a very bad state now, horrible headache and earache, tinnitus at its highest level and what worries me the most an extreme sensitivity to sound (I have never been so sensitive since this nightmare began).

I can't go to work, can't eat, can't talk (only whisper) because of the reactivity and I'm very scared.

I don't understand what is happening and what caused this. If things are getting worse and they are, tomorrow I'm back on Clonazepam and sleeping pills.

Anyway, good vibes only on this thread so I will stop here.

@Damocles, you really are one of a kind :)

No Valentine's for me, as you can see.

I hope things will get better because I can't even come up with a joke right now and this really is worrying.
Sorry to hear that. But I know what you're going through. When I first got the deadly ringing it was like that. Eventually it backed off to a sort of baseline. Although not every day is or was tolerable, I got through it. But then I've never taken any form of pills or liquid (well whisky maybe) to cope. I do head off for the bedroom for quiet time.

My thoughts are with you and a big hug to hopefully make a smile.

Elmer

We are all a bit off plumb. That's what keeps us going. Humour is the cure for times we want to bang our heads on the wall.

Thank you, @Elmer B Fuddled, for your kind words!

Unfortunately alcohol does nothing for me.

My father drinks a glass of wine every night and it helps him deal with tinnitus and insomnia.

In my case, if it's not Pina Colada or another sickeningly sweet cocktail, I'm not interested.

True. Humour is my (only) coping mechanism.

Anyway, please don't worry; I've now lost count of the amount of stories I've found on here where people reached the bottom (where you currently are) -including myself- only to be living life to... well not the fullest... but to three-quarters of whatever the fullest used to be, a year or two later.
I will frame this and hang it on the wall.

I'm going batshit crazy... Should probably not post it here but I'm depressed. I drove back to city and when I see people walking outside or the bus numbers I used to travel with to work or other stuff it's a knife in the stomach...

Another boring change of topic.

I'll have to get an electrician to pull out the oven before I sell my place so might as well change it to some eye candy.

Going for a combination oven with either microwave or steam function.

Do people still use microwaves? Steam ovens...?

I'm not a kitchen person so I wonder what people buying the place would appreciate.

Hugs to Steph and Aura and everyone else feeling like crap...

If you're selling your place, just put a cheapo unit in and don't worry about it.

Regardless of whether or not people still use microwaves or steam ovens, a fresh bit of glitz in the kitchen always catches buyers' eyes.

Hope you have a better day tomorrow. You know how it is; three steps forward, two steps back.

That chair looks cool and might be valuable in 50 years :)

Not as cool and perhaps not very loungy, you have the Norwegian brand Ekornes. I'm proud to say they still have a factory in Norway :)

Good for your back and high quality.

They're most famous for their Stressless chairs and sofas.

Here's some humour.

A man and his wife with 9 children were waiting at the bus stop. Waiting also was a blind man. Soon the bus came. But there was only room for the wife and 9 children. So the man and the blind man said they would walk. After a bit the man said to the blind man, that clicking of your stick is driving me mad, you should put a rubber on the end of it. The blind man stopped and said, if you would have put a rubber on the end of your stick we wouldn't be walking.

@Steph1710, since you like abandoned places:
Ha! Awesome! Thank you @Juan. I am currently planning a road trip round southern France and Italy. Might have to chuck some abandoned stuff in on the way. I can't wait! I haven't been off this island since October! I'm getting itchy feet. Hate being in one place for so long.

Hugs to Steph and Aura and everyone else feeling like crap...
Hey gorgeous! How are you feeling today?

I've had a terrible day. And to top it off, an extremely loud, shrill bell went off right next to my ear... instant pain! Guess I'm gonna have another hyperacusis flare up - yay!

Anyway, hope you've had a better day than me. <3

Hello. I'm always up for some flattering chatty girls at least :)

A fucking bell...? And what were you doing under that thing without earmuffs...?

Sounds awful... :( Hope you get lucky.

Hmm, a short night and another empty day but at least no accidents around here.

Renovation apartment next door one floor down sold today. Don't know what to think. Hopefully the new owners will just leave it like that until I'm gone.

I certainly wish they paid a better price for it though :p Perhaps so much they can't even afford paint...? :)

Frustrated hug :huganimation:

Well I feel a little better today because I got rid of that migraine.

Sorry about that bell, @Steph1710...

That abandoned casino at Constanta in Romania is really beautiful!

Thank you, unfortunately the last two days have not been good, tinnitus has become quite annoying.
Awww, sorry to hear this. :( I'm on the same boat.

Do you think this is still related to the spikes you were having after the Pfizer shot?

Sucks having tinnitus... I mean anything can make it spike! :arghh:

I don't believe it has anything to do with the Pfizer vaccine. It usually comes on at night or just before waking in the morning. Then it's hearing aids with the white noise to block the ringing. If I keep the white app on it can take 2 or more days to bring the ringing down. Sometimes it will bring the ringing to where I can hardly hear it. The strangest darn thing I know of. Now this morning it's completely quiet. Be danged if I understand it.
