Thanks Daniel, the only sound we heard for three days was pheasants, donkeys, and that peaceful cuckoo bird every morning and evening.Beautiful @Elmer B Fuddled.
Your photos of Ireland really give off a peaceful, clean, and fresh vibe.
Hope you left the chainsaw at home!
Stay well Elmer.
Yeah, it was "on sale" but still expensive. And you probably paid a fortune for it.
Oh yeah, the Mrs. was looking and me I was just following along. Some of those were 200 euro, then we would see 89 euro or two for 160 euro. Must remember when you step off the boat you are instantly in the tourist trap. On our walk we stopped at a pub restaurant for our evening meal. We both ordered beef stew and brown bread, 2 pints of beer. The cost was 46 euros, 16.50 euro for a bowl of stew. Unreal.Yeah, it was "on sale" but still expensive.
Looks beautiful. You live nearby?
Yeah, I remember it being like that. I bought the sweater because this particular one was heavily discounted, and still expensive. I think it was the equivalent to 55 euros of that time (1998!!!)Oh yeah, the Mrs. was looking and me I was just following along. Beautiful place!
Forgot to add that the cost of living crisis... and the tourist rip-off too are widespread now in Spain. We both ordered beef stew and brown bread, 2 pints of beer. The cost was 46 euros, 16.50 euro for a bowl of stew. Unreal.
It's the same everywhere, wife was out this morning buying food and a few items, 96.00 euro, almost doubled from 2 months back.Forgot to add that the cost of living crisis... and the tourist rip-off too are widespread now in Spain.
Just this morning I was riding my bike along the beach and stopped at a few restaurants to check menus etc... prices are going up and up and up...
A restaurant that Mon-Fri had a menu for 17 euros, now charges 22 euros. Breakfast that was 4 euros, now is 7 euros. Another restaurant that charged 21 euros for menu, now charges 30 euros. Crazy.
And prices keep going up. In August these restaurants will charge a lot more. They also charge more for drinks etc.
Yea I live more inland with the rest of the peasants.Looks beautiful. You live nearby?
How much is gas per gallon in the US?
In Spain gasoline is at 2 euros per litre. Crazy.
And the poor get more poor and big brother keeps putting money in their pockets.
Well gasbuddy lied. I had to pay $6.07/gal for gas today.
But that's cheap!!!
Now it's strawberry season! The best time for strawberries.
Yea, even though the weather's been quite variable here going from extremely hot to a bit chilly (like today) the strawberries know when it's time to dance and won't let anything get in their way.Now it's strawberry season! The best time for strawberries.
However, in Spain we have had strawberries for like 2 months maybe... but we do not have very different varieties. I think there are mainly 2 varieties that come from Huelva.
The French have a wider range of strawberries to choose from.
Tinnitus is better, hyperacusis is playing up today because I stupidly put my phone to my ear to take a call instead of using loud speaker. It's been 4 hours and my ear is still hurting. What an idiot!Hope everyone is doing ok.
Had the exact same problem last year. Bloody birds got to the red currents before I had a chance to cover them. Two years ago the birds done the same to the cherries. So, I put a massive cover over the cherry tree. Only thing is, the birds didn't get them, but when I opened the covering, it was full of wasps which were eating them instead! Ahhh! Terrifying! The main change I've made this year has been to install some rugged netting because last year the early morning birds were becoming a little too proficient at ambushing the crop!
Damn why you do that lol, I laugh because I do the same dumb crap haha. I'm alright I guess. Tinnitus kinda sharp piercing tone or at least morphing to it. Day wasn't too bad, been kinda aggressive letting sound in like an idiot.Tinnitus is better, hyperacusis is playing up today because I stupidly put my phone to my ear to take a call instead of using loud speaker. How you doing chunk? X
If you figure it takes about 4.2 liters to make a US gallon then multiply that by the cost of fuel here in Ireland the price comes to $8.63 a gallon.Well gasbuddy lied. I had to pay $6.07/gal for gas today.
Well, because it was my dad who was phoning, and I was in the kitchen with the mother-in-law, so didn't want her to hear him say anything obscene things like he does. And it's lucky I didn't have him on speakerphone, because he told me he was in the middle of having a shit lol.Damn why you do that lol, I laugh because I do the same dumb crap haha.
I thought you were doing a lot better? My bird chirp sound is there occasionally, but it's so very weak that it's not bothersome atm.I'm alright I guess. Tinnitus kinda sharp piercing tone or at least morphing to it.
Well, I crumbled and listened to music too loud in the car a few days ago. Ears did ring a bit louder than usual afterwards, and they did hurt, but I couldn't help it. I miss driving along listening to some proper metal lol.Day wasn't too bad, been kinda aggressive letting sound in like an idiot.
Thanks haha! It's actually an ancient monument in England, over 1000 years old. Apparently, the dick used to be smaller, but someone in centuries past, decided to enlarge it. Probably some bloke who saw it and thought - "poor fella. If he's gunna be that exposed, I'll at least give him a worthy sized package."I like your profile pic... reminds me of the good ol days haha.
The image of you uncovering a cherry tree to be confronted by a gang of angry wasps is proper Del BoyHad the exact same problem last year. P.S. loving your profile picture.
P.P.S. how awful has the weather been the past two days. Yesterday, I was properly cold.

Interesting! It must be great to be able to grow your own foodDo you grow some stuff? My yield won't feed the five-thousand but what I do get is tasty. The main change I've made this year has been to install some rugged netting because last year the early morning birds were becoming a little too proficient at ambushing the crop!
Glad you're doing better. I am back and forth. Have a spike now because I'm aggressively letting sound in and dropped my son's metal water bottle... doh.Well, because it was my dad who was phoning, and I was in the kitchen with the mother-in-law, so didn't want her to hear him say anything obscene things like he does.
