Chit Chat and All That...

Had to bring a friend to hospital this morning due to severe pain in his left arm. Outside the entrance doors stands 2 signs, NO SMOKING IN THIS AREA. So I see 3 people smoking in the no smoking area, nothing wrong with them other than coffin nail in their mouth. No respect for other people being out getting some fresh air. Which brought an old song to mind, sign, sign, everywhere a sign, blocking the scenery, breaking my mind.

Glad you're doing better. I am back and forth. Have a spike now because I'm aggressively letting sound in and dropped my son's metal water bottle... doh.

Is it bad I still jam to music with earplugs on while driving? Oops.

As for the big penis, people like to visualize big dongs on everything nowadays haha.
Napoleon had a huge penis. It was noted after he died, it measured 1 inch.

Anyone had a yellow fever vaccine since developing tinnitus? I've gotta have one and I'm really worried about my ears.

Also, has anyone taken anti malaria meds? And did they have any impact on your tinnitus/hyperacusis?

There's a few posts where people have mentioned going to have them, but no one has followed up to say if they made their ears worse or not.

@Steph1710, I did some looking into yellow fever vaccine but did not find it had any side effect to tinnitus. As for malaria, you would have to be in the area of where mosquitoes breed, like stagnant water, and or the jungle. There's a pill you can take to keep from contracting malaria. I don't find it would affect tinnitus.

Does no one really have any experience with this? Come on you lot - some of you must travel/travelled. Need some advice.

I've made it through 3 days of call-in jury duty without being called in. I have 2 days left. Getting nervous as it seems like everyone will end up being called in. Can't afford to waste a day in court waiting to ask the judge to be dismissed because I'm moving in 2 weeks.

Ok, so here's make take my dear @Steph1710.

Remember I live in Dengue/Malaria village. I have had Dengue once and some doctors said I had Malaria but I don't think that I have.

Here's the deal as I see it. Stay the fuck inside at sun up and sun down. At sunset the mosquitos come out to kill. Some seasons thy are vicious, right now as I write they are not. If you're going to a place known for mosquitos and such, wear socks and jeans at night and even a long sleeve shirt.

Don't overload your immune system with injections, pills and paranoia in my humble opinion. If you're really worried, bring some pills and ingest as prescribed. I've never heard it affecting somebody's tinnitus but I haven't researched it. Look it up for ototoxicity.

If you plan on going deep into the Amazon River, you probably shouldn't be considering your autoimmune issues. I live in SE Asia and one has to be careful at sun down at certain times of the year. 99 percent of the people I know are not careful and don't give a toss. I give a shit because I don't find eating dinner enjoyable when being eaten by little critters. My dear old mom who visited me at 80 years old found it challenging but she put on bug repellent and would come inside by a fan if things got nasty. She did not take any pills. There are little to no mosquitoes now, for the record.

Bring the pills, and take them depending on where you're going.

The most important thing is when to be inside and when to be outside.

Definitely sleep with a mosquito net. If the hotel or guest house doesn't have one, go to the local market and buy one, they are cheap and a god sent for sleeping.

Now, I probably confused you more than ever.

Just remember the times when to be inside and outside. Socks, jeans, and mosquito net.

Oh, yah, almost forgot. Be careful girl, we all care about you and want you safe.

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Thanks so much for writing such a great reply. :) Where in SE Asia are you? I've been to Indonesia, Bali, Manila, Singapore, Borneo, Cambodia, Malaysia, Vietnam. I have also been to India & Africa - so, I know all about those damn mosquitos, and how to avoid them.

I was just after info on Yellow Fever because I've never had the injection, so naturally I'm worried about it. I definitely need to have it though, because some countries I'm going to won't allow me in without a Yellow Fever certificate. :cautious:

Also, I get bitten more than anyone I know. We had a hot day yesterday, and now I have 13 bites on me.

I've been into the Borneo rainforest, so have all the right clothing - I also sleep with a mosquito net at home in the summer. Honestly, they want my sweet skin lol.

I'll bring my anti-malaria pills with me, and 100% Deet. Those bugs in the Amazon are gunna love me.

This made me smile. Thank you Friend.

How's that possible with tinnitus and hyperacusis?

Sorry friend, I know nothing about yellow fever.

I have been to countless countries but have always worked. Like a migrant worker more than a traveler. I live in Laos now, it is super peaceful here.

I have been to Brazil, Bahia, and a small town called Olinda in the mountains. I also went to Recife and Penibuko and a few other places. The most musical and lovely people and the food is awesome.

You're a power house Steph, just know when to rest and take it easy.

I say that like an older brother, so don't get pissed off that I care.

Slow and steady, and believe me, I've been pedal to the medal my entire life.

Let me know when and where you're going.

Big hugs,
Daniel

Hi @Juan, keep it in your pants, because I know this is gonna get you excited.

The local currency has bottomed out and Laos can't buy gas from neighboring countries because they can't afford it. When there is gas there are lines 1 or 2 kilometers long until the fuel runs out.

Me and the family seem to be fine. Eating local food as we always do. I had a long swim yesterday, and today got up early and cycled into town for my morning coffee. I made my teaching contracts in dollars so I am weathering the storm ok for now.

The local people are suffering including my extended family.

Doesn't look good, things will most likely get worse.

Sex is still free or cheap. Good for sex addicts.

List of strikes in Spain in the upcoming weeks:

- Last days of June: Ryanair cabin crews will go on strike. This will affect international flights.
- 27 June: truckers.
- Metal sector in the north.

And this is just for starters...

Just ordered a DNA testing kit! Time to find out my heritage. Anyone else taken one of these tests?

Just bought a surfboard too - thought I'd throw that out there. Very excited. I'm hoping to surf some of my weight off lol.

I would guess you are the DNA of your parents.
