Chit Chat and All That...

Wow, guys. I'm getting so nervous. I've been self employed since 2013 and it's worked out since I had to take care of my mom full time from 2013 to 2015 while she was on a feeding tube, and then my dad when he got ill in 2016. But he got laid off and while they both need me as home care, I don't get paid. And my computer/graphics business has really slowed down. When T struck I had planned on going back to work in 2017, but I put that on hold cause I was going out of my mind with T.

So I've half-heartedly been applying to jobs to get something part time. I got an interview and I'm so nervous. It will be helping special needs students. Which I have done in the past, but I feel super nervous about now.

T has really altered how I think. I snap easier and my amazing patience has been totally destroyed. Not to mention my concentration! I'm really afraid if I can handle it or not. But I keep thinking that working might help.

Sorry to hear about your mum and dad Shera. All you can do is try, go to the interview and be you and see where it takes you. I'm sure you will smash the interview and make an amazing helper, it takes a special type of person to help special need students so you got this. You might surprise yourself with your concentration. Good luck mate

This made me laugh, my granddaughter who's 5 is counting down the months to Halloween.

It's getting more popular here every year.
One store recently had a 50 percent off sale on all Halloween and she made me spend up big.

Had to store some under my son's staircase lol

I Love these Star haha great taste there! I wonder who's more excited you or the kids

@Jcb I'm not so sure I'm the special tye of person, but I'll do my best. I do realize it all depends on the needs of the kid.

Yeah. I'm calming myself down for the interview. Doesn't help my mom is getting nervous about me going back to work. Who will take her to her appointments!? Though it is very tempting not to. I know the job will be a lot.

Going to the beach for the first time in forever tomorrow. I'm sure it'll be fun, but I'm worried about the noise. Any of you have experince with this? Will swimming plugs help?

I may not have Hypercusis, but I do probably have Phonophobia. :dunno:

That's what I've been doing the last few weeks, so so nice and serene even when the weather is awful, I've never had a problem noise wise but take your plugs just in case and hope you enjoy it.
Just wrap your ears up if it's windy and you should be fine.

Im sure you are Shera you come across like you are and I'm sure many would agree, all you can do it try.

Yeah I get that, I'm sure you will sort something for your mum, I admire you so much for helping your mum and dad but needs must sometimes Shera, we have to look after our own selves as well. Is there anybody who can take her to her appointments part from you?

When I look into the future, I see a single pill that can solve each and every T case. Oh, how great would that be.

Yup. You know what they say: Never get high on your own supply.
Scarface 5.0

Ha yeah that's invaluable for those monsters haha

That would be amazing, can you imagine pop a pill or take a course of them and boop all our issues gone!!! We can dream eh my man.

Well, finished the book. Meh. I'm actually very disappointed. Oh, well. I will say judging from what he said I should have never developed T. Also, that it should have gone away like that. *snap* :DCalling people "Tinnitus people" and "tinnitus personalities" was odd and kind of funny.

Oh, well. Most of what he talked about to help was basic steps towards habituation so that was nice. Though despite the "disclaimer" of the book. He does say following these steps/advice can lead to healing the T, and refers to habituation as something different. I get what some of the reviews are saying now.

This is my 3rd Tinnitus book. It's interesting seeing them compare. Though I do feel like this might have been the most passive aggressive one I've read.

Time to go catch the latest Harley Quinn episode!! :rockingbanana:

Back from the beach. Had swimming plugs with me, but I didn't use them. Wasn't very loud at all and the waves sounded nice. Only went up to my knees in the water.

It was the first time going to the beach in almost a decade. I guess I'm not a very good Floridian, lol.

Happy you enjoyed it mate, nice to hear. You are a terrible Floridian haha I thought that all you did was go to the beach, drink, sunbathe and then start it over again the next day ha. I had one the most chilled holidays in Key West, was lovely.

@Jcb I keep putting off castlevaina. Which is crazy cause it's 100% my taste!

@aot Glad you had fun. It sounds lovely. I love beaches, well warm ones. The ones we have around her are freezing even in the height of summer. If they're warm . . . you probably shouldn't be in the water. Though I use to go up to the Snake River and they have hot pots on the river!

Will you start becoming a good Floridian and go more often? ;)

I really enjoyed it, only watched it because I remember playing the games

@Jcb Not likley, lol. Just was never really my scene. I won't rule it out though. And yes, Most Floridains do all that when they're not making wacky news headlines.

Be greatful for what you have, @Shera. I would give anything for a real autmn or winter. All I've ever know is varying degress of Spring and Summer. Weather that would leave you in a tank top and short shorts would very well leave me freezing in a leather jacket, lol. I want to see snow one day, even if it means freezing my ass off.

Too true. Went to California one spring and I googled the weather there. Only person on the beach in shorts and a tank!! Ha-ha! We were having a record cold spell in spring! People were giving me the evil eye, until I told them I was from out of town.

I love all of these man, that elephant haha
That cat is definitely a mood haha

Season 3 of Korra is a winner. I loved Ming Hua, the way she used her bending despite her being at a "disadvantage" I loved her aggressive water bending and the way she used it against other people. I'm not sure how I feel about Zaheer flying?? I'm still confused as to why the Avatar could not fly?? I know it's about giving up all earthly tethers but it didn't feel right....

Of course I'm sick on my day off.

And last night I got exposed to three or four door slams while I was talking to someone a few feet away. (Downside to Habituation is that you can forget the damger you're in, lol)

Haven't been hit yet, and I take solace in the fact that most spikes are temporary.

How are you guys? Hopefully having better days then me.

Typical, always happens on a day off.

Try and not worry even though I know it's easier said than done, the doors probably haven't done any damage. I know peoples thresholds are all different but try and not worry about something that may not happen and if the spike does come ride it out it should pass.

Thanks, JCB. I'm doing my best. It was a metal and glass door. I was so caught up in the conversation with my friend that I didn't care at the time.

First the pressure washer, and now this. I have a real doozy coming, I think. But I've made this far. I think I can ride it out.

Yup those doors can be a pain, try and not keep thinking it's done damage because (going on my own personal experience) the constant worry and stress always messes with my ears to the point I'm positive that my volume has increased and once I've calmed down the noise goes back down. Hopefully it will be fine and if it does spike you will get through it mate.

I'll be off here again for a while, got some things to sort out, I'll be fine so please don't worry if I haven't logged in for a while.
Also anybody who I'm in email contact with, I'm still having issues logging in so if I don't reply I'm not ignoring you.

Take it easy my T friends and stay strong :)
