Chit Chat and All That...

Wow! That is beautiful! Glad you're back to being able to do it again.
Thanx Star!
Although I better take it easy as my hand started to hurt a little yesterday. Ughhh :inpain:
But I do not think it was from crocheting but from doing dishes! :cautious::mad:
(My excuse... haha)

Are you working on any new projects?
Okay, the shortest break, ever, is over.

I have started a blanket, nice and thick and warm, in bright colors.

Do you know where the Celtic knot originates from? Most don't know what the Celtic knot is, other than a knot. So I will explain, the knot or knitting technique originates from the Arran Island off the coast of Ireland. Thousand years ago when the island had people living on there, which there is people still there. The men were most all fishermen, fishing in the sea. They wore heavy knitted jumpers, or sweater as you call them. Each wife of these men knitted their husbands a type of individual design in the jumper known as the Celtic knot, no 2 were alike. The reason for doing this was because if they were lost at sea or died the wife could identify her lost husband by this knot. Through the years this knot has become a big tourist purchasing product, sadly the origin has been forgotten.

Thank-you for this information, Elmer. Very interesting, I had no idea. :thankyousign:

You know what, I am not sure, lol! I got it in a grab bag of sorts, from Hobby Lobby. There was a variety of yarn in the bag, but no labels. I have had it in my stash for a long time, must use this stuff up.
Haha...No worries.
Oh, how we accumulate yarn!!!
:angelic:

Interesting? It is and so is the history of the Celts, there is a neolithic tomb, in a place called Newgrange, that dates more than 3000 years back. It was used for cremation of the kings that inhabited that area. But the interesting part about it is that it only had one narrow opening leading into the centre of the Tomb. But what is extremely strange is the opening only allows the sun to shine down this narrow passage once a year and that day is on day of the winter solstice.

Love the history lesson, Elmer!

Figured you would look it up. Very interesting place to visit. When we had the very dry summer last year aerial photo of the surrounding area showed more sites that had never exposed themselves, sad part the archeologists here aren't funded enough to take on the exploration of these sites.

Oh. Have you ever used a blue light filter on your computer? If so, is there a large difference between the blue blocker on glasses and the blue light filter software?

I think it works better than the software. Plus, my glasses are always on so when I go into stores it helps with the bad lighting.
