Chit Chat and All That...

@Bob90 Oooo, I realized tht I really need to read The Neverending Story. For some reason it never crossed my mind to read it!

Sticking to just comics.

One of my all time faves is Fables. That's what I wanted Once Upon a Time to really be, and I can't believe no one picked it up!

DC stuff. Honestly what haven't I!!! I fell out of love for a bit, but when The New 52 came back it was awesome. Best reboot of Aquaman EVER! Of course my girl Harely Quinn and Suicide Squad. The main Batman and so on. I also really liked these darker takes. Wonder Woman was awesome as well. Have not caught up on Rebirth yet. A also really liked DC 52 and some of the other side verse.

Marvel. Ms. Marvel, Spider Man (which is the one I wish I wouldn't have sold my older volumes of!!) X-men EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING, Runaways, Books of Doom, Deadpool, Inhumans, Thor, and so on.

I should not I also really like Lucifer, Sandman, and a ton of others.

I don't consume as many as I use to and I am so behind!

@Shera

Neverending Story is a great read! The first movie covers only the first half of the book (with some differences because there always is. Still love the movie itself though!) and the second half gets into some good, deep stuff.

The New 52 is what got me into trying them out and I was on Batman, Justice League, Harley Quinn, Green Lantern for a little bit. From Marvel I tried Ms. Marvel and really liked it and am hype for her show on Disney+. Are you looking forward to the Marvel Disney+ shows? And have you watched any of the DC web stuff?

I don't know why, just kinda dropped off randomly with reading them and reading in general for years. The weirdest thing is that my tinnitus made me want to read again. I think I associate reading with good memories and feelings from a long time ago, so reading is a kind of therapy. I've read "A Memory Called Empire," "Thrawn," and "Gideon the Ninth" since getting my T.

... I used to be super into the Sonic The Hedgehog comics....

@Bob90 Huh, well that's good to know about The Neverending Story. Thanks. :bookworm: I think knowing that the movie is only half the book helps me. o_O So crazy. So does that mean the second movie is just totally off the rails!?

Oooooo! Disney is going to do Ms Marvel!!!! :rockingbanana:I don't actually have Disney+. I just don't care to support it. I think they should have used Hulu, that was one of the main reasons in the past they wanted to buy Fox. Oh, well. Yes, I'm digging the DC web stuff. Harley Quinn is awesome! I wasn't sure how I'd take to Kaley Cuoco doing it. I thought DC was going with Melissa Rauch. But it works. I love the script and the humor!

The reboots were a great thing for the comics. Especially since they finally had freedom! Censorship. Yuck.

I'm glad you're enjoying reading.:D And that it can make you feel good and bring you peace. Since my T got worse I've been struggling. And I miss how I use to read so much!:arghh:
Gideon the Ninth
This one!!! I bought it when it came out! Everything about it sounds amazing. I've been avoiding spoilers like crazy!

@Shera Oh yeah, the second movie *very* loosely adapts the second half of the book. To the point where seeing the second movie really doesn't spoil the book. As I'm sure you know the 3rd movie was based on none of the book and it's existence is a crime against humanity ;).

I agree, Disney plus is pretty superfluous. I was really skeptical about her as well but she's been solid throughout. Yes! The humor is really top notch if you're into it, and the story has been unpredictable in a good way.

Yeah the reboots were a great jumping in point of course, just didn't stick it out long lol.

Thank you, though it's a shame that it's harder for you to enjoy reading with your T .:huganimation:How bad is it and what caused it?

Oh you definitely need to read it! It's a "gets better as it goes along" book, but the main character is an interesting read from the start.

@Bob90 Much like Rush Hour 3, I like to pretend that The Neverending Story 3 never happened.(Oh, and The Mummy 3 *shivers*)

Yeah, my sister was raving about all the movies and other content. I pretty much own everything I want except the original content. Which is getting DVD releases so . . . I live in an area that has very slow internet (and the fast internet is datacaped so hard you can't even stream one season of a 24 episode show) and a lot of places still don't have internet. So streaming is still not a thing. We proudly support our DVD rental store. Which still has quite a few VHS tapes!:ROFL: I think she was getting rid of the last VHS's though.

Yes! I love how wild the story has been! Season 2 was not at all what I expected! Love it!:rockingbanana:

Yeah, it blows. I always thought nothing could ruin reading for me. Huh, neck/head and jaw injury. Use to be mild but my jaw dislocated in my sleep and made it all worse. Super loud (it can totally deafen me, but that hasn't been happening as much the past year and I can hear it in most places), it's started to have some volume decreases here and there but never lasts long, and chaos symphony in each ear. You never know what sound is gonna come to the forefront.

That's good. :) I know it took the Bookverse by storm. Everyone was talking about it. I remember telling my library to get it in. The marketing campaign was a bit too open about some of it's content so hard pass by them, but then suddenly everyone was whispering about it and trying to get it from the other libraries that didn't deny it!

@Shera, I don't remember disliking Rush Hour 3 but I definitely agree on Mummy 3. I loved the first two so much it was crummy to see it turn out how it did.

Oh wow, is it an independent DVD store then? Must be, there's only like 1-3 Blockbusters left in the world lol. And geez VHS. I would think the picture and audio would be fading at this point from so much replay. Do you have Hughesnet out in your area? Whenever I'm in a rural area, I'll see ads on the TV's for Hughesnet which I guess is supposed to be rural specific. That really sucks the high speed is capped like that.

Oh no that really blows. I'm sorry you have to go through such a challenging iteration of this wicked illness. Me, I was an idiot and blew my auditory nerve in my right ear at a concert one night. My hearing was checked 3 times afterward (I think my tinnitus doc was trying to get as much from the insurance companies as he could) and I came back with good hearing so I can only expect it's nerve damage causing it. Are you holding out for one of the forthcoming devices? I've heard they may be best for physical-related tinnitus causes, especially if you can modulate the tinnitus.

Ah, I won't go into spoiler territory but I will say that one part of the marketing push really over-exaggerated one aspect of the story. It's there, but not to the degree you may expect (or hope? depending on your preferences). That said I am hype for the sequel which comes out this September.

@OnceUponaTime , I am doing well. What's made the week rough?

How are you doing? Sad to hear you had a rough week. Just heard schools are closed, I told my daughter I'll be teaching her. But she does not take me serious.

I'm doing my usual Rush Hour rewatch in the summer so we'll see if RH3 still sit bad with me. Oh, me too! I really liked one and two for the Mummy!

Yep. It is independently owned. She doesn't just to rentals now. She's a consignment shop too! I was renting a whole season for 1.99. But some idiot told her how much people pay online to stream so she jacked the price up! Yeah, we kind of get some adds for Hughesnet. But it really doesn't work out here and there was a huge campaign years ago for them to stop. Because the price was outrageous and the service was pretty much no existent.

Yeah, it can kick my ass sometimes. It just shocks me how it went from almost going away to freaking off the charts. Not to mention the sudden physical ear crap with it. I'm not holding my breath for treatments or cures really. It's gonna take forever to roll out and it will take a while before anyone knows how it will go. Not to mention cost and the reality of being able to afford/get the treatment.

Oh, my! Now I'm wondering what they over marketed!! I hate it when a book does that. Espeically if it's the thing that drew me to it. I hope they stick to the release date. I might try and squeeze it in a month or two before that date. But they've been shuffling book releases around like crazy.

Okay, so I know you've already seen this @aot But here's for everyone else.

Welcome! I'll be back soon with more videos, hopefully. I'm going through hell. Wish me luck.

Happy Birthday @Labyrinthine!

I know you are feeling low, but keep up the hope. You, we, can survive this and thrive.
Better days will come...
I really hope so. I'm exhausted. Thank you for the kind words.

@Shera Interesting, I haven't rewatched things for years unless I'm watching it with someone else on their first time. Def let us know if RH3 is still a (n)

Omg who would do that?! That reeks of "But Miss X, you forgot that we had homework last night" lmao. Oh nice, an actual campaign to stop a telecom.

That definitely sucks. And I'm with you on the cost. I technically have money I could use to buy something like Lenire or one of the other devices but it would be one of my retirement accounts which is obviously not ideal and I'd rather spend that money elsewhere if I had to spend it at all.

It seems the author didn't give their blessing on the marketing but authors, especially new ones, don't get the power to control the marketing which makes sense on one end but can lead to things like this.

Oh, didn't realize your icon was She-Ra, wow, lol. I have that on my quarantine watchlist to start after I finish what's available of The Owl House. If you like colorful well-written animation I highly recommend it.

@Labyrinthine, I don't believe we've interacted before but Happy Belated Birthday! I hope over time your hyperacusis improves.
