Chit Chat and All That...

We lost our cat, had to put her to rest. It's pretty damn lonely with her gone. The wife just announced we are headed for the cat rescue to pick out a new kitten.

WOOOOOHOOOOO can't wait.
So sorry to hear that. Kitten time! My Smokey cat died in 2018, 20 years old *sniffles*, and we (well my mom) decided to get a kitten 23 days later. It had been 16 years since I had done kittens. It was a shock to my system. But it was good we had Cinder because my last cat Yuki passed within a month of Smokey. I think the loss of Yuki's son the year before and then Smokey just crashed her system.

Enjoy! Share some pictures of the bundle of fur!

So here is my Canadian Geese pic.

She wanted to get up there and catch a goose. Sadly my phone has a crap camera and the lighting was bad.

What is moderate in size to you?
I honestly don't know. I grew up in what would be considered a big house in the UK, i.e. 5 bedrooms, big kitchen, big dining room, an office/games room, a sitting room, a living room and two bathrooms. A farm house.

But for the last 15 years I've lived in flats/apartments. Boy do I miss space.

Well that didn't go well at all. Cats had eye infections half were wild and the place was filthy. People feckin people.

Ah, one of those places. I'm sorry to hear it. Our in the next county is like that. Disease runs through and they had to kill all the animals a few years ago. Thank goodness for the privately run one that does much better. That's how I fostered some kittens and found them good homes.

If you could, please root for a bit for my dog. She is having surgery this week. We had a mammary tumor scare, which she doesn't have, but has metritis (inflammation in the uterus), and been bleeding. She is happy and doesn't seem to have pain, but I'm really worried about anesthesia because of her age.

Aww, I really hope everything goes well with her surgery and that she recovers quickly without any complications.

I'll keep her in my thoughts and prayers. You as well. I hope all goes well. Anesthesia can be iffy for older pets I know! :huganimation:

I was watching an interview of Ivanka Trump and she brought up that she used to play with Lego. She then went on to say how she puts the different Legos together.

I thought this was incredibly strange, i.e. that she would add an -s to the word Lego to form a plural.
I work in the language field and have never heard Lego becoming Legos. I thought it just must be a Trump thing... until the interviewer also used Legos.

I then read that in the US this is normal, but to a man who speaks proper English, i.e. English from England, the only real English, it sounds really grating and a truly horrible word.

Americans, get your act together:p

Ummmmm I see an ad on your English tv showing a man becoming a school teacher. At the writing board he prints his name, then adds a period behind it. So my curiosity got the better of me and I emailed the college who put up the ad and was told that the period behind his name shows his authority.

Really?

Try saying it in Spanish.:D
Then go live in Brooklyn, NY for a few years...bahahaha.

I never gave my children Legos... ooppps... Lego. Hahaha.
I gave them Erector sets.

Well my dog is out of surgery, it went fine. What I'm worried about that she has to wear a cone, which she never had on. She is absolutely dizzy, and sad, but she won't lay down. I think she has some pain, because she looks uncomfortable sitting as well. She's just standing, hanging her head. She ate, drank a little, not much was given to her, because of the chance of vomiting. I don't know how to help her.

Looks like most streaming services have it. Not sure about Vudu or Roku's free channels. It was really good.

Agreed. I've actually met a few people who think the Holocaust is fake. It was... disturbing to say the least.
I'll check and see if Vudu or Roku are available through my Amazon Firestick.

That's disgusting. I can't stand Holocaust deniers and I don't understand why people deny the Holocaust.
Yeah, my mouth still isn't producing saliva at full capacity, but anything is a relief at this point!!!! :X3: Yoga, and I'm doing The Tapping Solution. Which is working surprisingly well. I was trying to do CBT, but CBT wasn't helping the mental restlessness and The Tapping Solution has. Sound hockey, but whatever works.

Yeah, my mom has been through so much bullshit and medical issues you have to stand up for yourself. Especially after the feeding tube nightmare. :depressed:
Is your dry mouth problem better now? It's been a few weeks since my last reply. What is the Tapping Solution? I'm glad that the Tapping Solution has helped you. Is this method something that could help with insomnia?

I'm finally going to message you about the feeding tube nightmare.

Glad to hear you're dog is ok. I think it'll take a little time for her to find her feet again, but the main thing is that she's ok.

Awww... just give her lots of cuddles. The cone is something new and she's not used to it. Hopefully she'll start feeling better soon. :huganimation:

I hope that your pupper feels better soon and that she begins to eat more soon. Pets are our family and it's scary when they're sick. :(

I agree with @OnceUponaTime's advice about giving your dog a lot of cuddles.

Poor baby. My cat Cinder was like this after her surgery. I made a pillow bed on the floor and for a week lived there with her. That was the only way she'd lie down and relax. Also, I had to monitor her temperature. Hope your dog can feel better soon. :huganimation:

I'm sure Amazon definitely has it.

Yeah. I thought it was a really bad joke/lie about Holocaust deniers. I also met some people who believe the earth is flat . . . I feel so disillusioned this year.
Is your dry mouth problem better now? It's been a few weeks since my last reply.
Ah, thanks. Well I'm making saliva again! Thank goodness. But it's still pretty dry. Every time I think I'm going back to normal I dry up. It's affecting my eyes a bit so I know that until my eyes start feeling better too I have to wait. I just need to keep calm and be patient. Time will heal. I also discovered I have a coconut allergy, mild, and that might be in combo what triggered this. I can do lotions, just can't ingest or put it on my lips.

Just google it, there's an official site. I thought it was hocus pocus bullshit. But my natural healing doctor suggested it. I was baffled when during my first session it worked. Especially with my doubts. I've been using it for sleep. There was no way I was gonna keep my insomnia going. No. No. Not again, no way. I downloaded the app (which is a big deal for me) and they have some free tapping meditation. I used "Restless Sleep" to quiet my mind and that very first night was the best sleep I had gotten in so long. I couldn't believe it worked. Now that I've got my restless mind under control I use their Veteran's one for deep sleep. Now I only wake up for my dry mouth to get a drink and go back to sleep. It sounds crazy, but I kind of get why it works, and I don't care because it's working for me!

@Rjbookworm I found some great books at my local Dollar Trees:rockingbanana: and I totally thought of you!

The book on the bottom right "Orphan Monster Spy". A holocaust book and I had totally forgotten I had wanted to read!!! Not sure if it's too dark for you? But it sounds so badass. :X3:

@OnceUponaTime Oooooo! Like the new avatar. I rely on people pics so much, but at least it has your name in it!!! :p

@Shera and @Rjbookworm

The most powerful holocaust book I've ever read is Maus by Art Spegilman, published in two parts and the first graphic novel to win the Pulitzer Prize.

It shows that those people didn't just recover the second they left those camps. Those mental and emotional wounds lasted a long time afterwards.

Again, I'll have to check Amazon. I finished reading "What the Night Sings" last Monday and I loved it! Such a beautiful book. Now I'm reading "A Cloud of Outrageous Blue" by Vesper Stamper.

It's odd that you've met people who believe that the earth is flat. I don't blame you for feeling disillusioned this year.

You're welcome! I'm glad that you're feeling a little better. It's good that you're being so patient with the healing process. As for your coconut allergy, at least you know what caused your dry mouth now. I hope that your eyes feel better as well.

The Tapping Solution sounds amazing! I'm really glad that it helped you with your insomnia. I'm going to look into it because I need help with my insomnia on a regular basis. Last night I fell asleep easily, but I struggle with insomnia regularly and would like to get it under control.
