Frequency Therapeutics — Hearing Loss Regeneration

I agree, but if an 'outsider' ENT is aware of this specific company, then that is somewhat comforting for me.
Every time I see my audiologist I fill her in on what is going on. They barely keep up with it. They spend most of their time trying to help people with what is available on the market now. It's also not something they can sell to you. Hearing aids and cochlear implants though...

I was pleasantly surprised by my ENT's response and her knowledge about the research being done on tinnitus. She had just attended a conference where they discussed the latest research. On a positive note based on the changes to my tinnitus she believes that I am healing to a certain degree.

Maybe, we don't really know yet but if your tinnitus is noise induced they think it may help.

Been lurking on the forums but I have two questions which I think haven't been addressed, maybe because we don't know the answer:

1. Does anyone know when this big tinnitus conference is where Frequency Therapeutics will supposedly release their results?

2. Does anyone know the difference between Frequency Therapeutics drug and Audion Therapeutics REGAIN project? Do they both aim to reactivate progenitor cells?

Thanks.

Definitely a good question. Do you guys also believe that if there was a cure for tinnitus, would it also help cure hyperacusis as well?

@JohnAdams

Do you know of other companies that are currently doing clinical trials to cure tinnitus?

The only ones I know that are currently doing trials are Frequency Therapeutics, Decibel Therapeutics and Sensorion?

Just looked at their website. When they state they are starting Phase 1/2, does that mean Phase 1 or Phase 1.5?
I don't think there is a phase 1.5.

Each phase is designed to meet certain endpoints and there could be multiple trials for each phase. Like 1, 1/2, 1/3, 2, 2/2, 2/3, 2/4 etc.

Like how there's 50 versions of Street Fighter 2.

Out of Frequency Therapeutics, Decibel Therapeutics, Sensorion and Otonomy which one do you believe will actually cure tinnitus?

Cure is a strong word. I think enough has been discovered already about healing the ear that they probably all have something going on that will be effective to restore hearing, and at the very least reduce tinnitus.

I do believe that hearing regeneration is our best bet in terms of a cure for tinnitus or an improvement. I also believe this can help with hyperacusis as well.

How do you know when they are going to release the results? It doesn't state a date on their website other than later in 2019.
We will at least get the new study results abstract on September 18. (Possibly sooner, if the conference organizer decides to make the abstracts public before the conference itself begins... which isn't too uncommon.)

As for the full text, the paper, that will depend on the embargo date and publishing schedule.

But we should get more info on results. I'm basing this on the content of Frequency's press release from last month:

"Frequency plans to present the Phase 1/2 results at a major otolaryngology meeting in 2019 and to submit the results for publication."

This September 18 meeting is the meeting referenced, unless I am totally misreading something.
