I Invented a Sound That Knocked Out My Tinnitus

If my theory about how your noise works is correct, then there are certainly limitations to this. I'd think that for many of us we have cross-wired nerves that can re-connect to the right inputs, but also there are probably dead hair cells and those inputs are gone and your brain will still want them. This therapy will probably work great in conjunction with FX-322 and Audion's drug. I can see a 100% cure of high frequency tinnitus here.

Except Case has a pre Tinnitus Talk presence and you can track him down. He is real.
As you pointed out in the Lenire thread there have been some aggressively pro-Neuromod posts from accounts with a suspicious history. It would seem logical that a company with that much to lose would Silkwood anything that could potentially undermine the rollout of their product.

Why would simple broadband white noise be any different? Given how many tinnitus sufferers sleep with a sound machine, your theory starts to fall flat here.

If this works for me, I have an additional theory having to do with potassium ion channels why this may help.

If this even has a chance of helping, I'll listen to it 24/7 because my mild tinnitus in quiet room... is now an air horn in my head. My life will never be the same from my MRI... oh well, life's a b!tch then you die.

Got my Koss headphones... actually both the headband one and the ones that go over the ear. The over the ear ones have no volume control, and the 3.5mm plug has an oval plastic ring which may cause issues with some cases.

The pro model comes with a 1/4" adapter, slider volume control and the 3.5mm plug is round and smaller (better for some cases).

I'm going to memorize every screechy note of this, even if it kills me... but I'm not sure it's helping.

Does anyone's tinnitus get worse when driving in the car with the fan on? I do 4hrs/day of driving and I wonder of my tinnitus is actually reacting to the whine of the AC fan that I have been using full blast to try and mask the 80-90 dB tinnitus.

My audiogram drops like the space shuttle at 8 kHz, will all the screechy sounds I'm missing in this Tinnitus Mix render it ineffective?

Thanks, prayers for everyone.

To MRltechssuck:

It has always baffled me that ever since I got this without fail my tinnitus has always been aggravated at a rate that corresponds in exact proportion to the increase in car speed.

I have two theories:

1) As you indicated, the fan and the general engine sound produce a high pitch which is exactly the frequency that activates the reactive component of the tinnitus.

2) The increasing forward momentum places pressure on some hearing organ(s), which destabilizes them thus aggravating the tinnitus. Perhaps this effect on the semicircular canals is also involved.

I'm still trying to keep this sound therapy as soft as possible without it causing masking... it's difficult to do with the wind noise in the car.

I wish I knew how "low" or soft to keep this... can I have this on and listen to tv or converse with people?

I'm trying to use this as much as possible, since I'm still off work for my back injury (which seems so very minor compared with my new tinnitus). :-(

@R. David Case... have you had success with anyone with severe "high" frequency hearing loss (4-8kHz)?

With a battleground of damaged hair cells and synapses, would enough of the signal get through?

And if the volume was increased to hear those high pitched banshees, I'm imagining it would run the risk of frying what little is left there.....  Thanks :D

Yes, I noticed that low frequencies from fan motors, car engines, small plane engines going overhead, etc made my tinnitus worse when I was tortured for three years before I invented Tinnitus Mix.

Hearing loss does not affect Tinnitus Mix like you would think, I would play it at a comfortable level, not too loud.

In general you should play it at 20-30% volume level or at a comfortable level. And don't skip a night for 3 weeks or the tinnitus will try to reform.

This therapy isn't working for me. Woke up worse today.
Tinnitus Mix works for about 50% of those that follow instructions, did you get the Koss KTX-PRO1 headphones?

I've been using the Koss KTX-Pro1 headphones. I finally had a full night of restful sleep while listening to Tinnitus Mix with the headphones on.

I'm excited! Thank you!
It can take a while, Tinnitus Mix is not like a pill, it takes time, the pattern we are seeing is the longer you have had tinnitus the longer this therapy takes. For example if you have had tinnitus for 20 years it can take 3-4 weeks of playing it every night. If you have only had tinnitus for 2 years it can knock it out in 2 weeks, etc.

Night 6. Still not cured. Want cure. Tinnitus status right now, a very very faint hiss in my left ear. I'm sure many people here would look at my tinnitus level and laugh and consider me a whiny baby. I am really amazed with the cessation of the noise sensitivity in my right ear. I attribute that 99.999% to this.

Don't you need to be in slow wave sleep while listening for this to work or did I misunderstand?

I am also very pro King James. The Alexandrian texts are from Egypt, which was a hotbed of Gnosticism. Modern translations are mostly garbage it is true. A good way to tell is if they changed the word "wall" in Daniel ch 9 v 25 to "moat" or "trench". Jerusalem never had a moat, nor will it ever. Even in Nehemiah a big part of that was the rebuilding of the walls.

I mean I'm comfortable playing this louder than my tinnitus, but then it would be masking it.

Ok... so should I still have the fan making noise while I listen to this when sleeping... or should their be complete external silence other than this Tinnitus Mix? I want this to work, so that is why I want to be completely clear about what should be done.

Likewise, during the day... should I be concentrating on this, or should this be soft enough where I can watch tv with this on?

I'm not trying to be annoying, but I'm used to having very clear expectations as to what my duties are and what procedures to follow. I also have problems sleeping with the Koss headphones... but that's something I will have to get used to... unfortunately just like this 80 dB in my head... I think I will either have to stop living or press on... and only one option works.

I'm in the same boat. I can hear a super low faint hiss today in my right ear - RIP SUCCESS STORY.

The sound is audible only after plugging both my ears for a while in a dead silent room. I don't even know if I had that before my ringing tinnitus.

Thought I'd be great now that my tinnitus is not audible at all but I'm obsessing more over it than before lol.

I ended up counting the days that it took for my left ear to go completely quiet (yes, my obsession got that bad), 62 to 63 days and after listening to Tinnitus Mix. Tinnitus in my right ear began around 20 days later than my left and so far has followed the same process of fading like my left did. I'm hopeful that if i continue listening to this it will go completely to 0%.

I'm really starting to wonder what did I hear before this whole tinnitus thing. Could it be that this hiss was there before but I never paid attention to it because I'd never plug my ears trying to listen for something?

Why even do that? Everyone will hear something after you cut down all external volume for long enough. Be glad that you found something that actually works this much and stop obsessing about it. Dude, you got silence back, enjoy it :D

I don't know, that's just how I am.
I really don't want to have another experience with tinnitus but I miss my headphones so much. The immersion, the clarity and the places I went while listening to music through them.

I wonder If hair cell regeneration is safe and comes to market "soon", will I be able to blast my ears again and again and keep getting the injections? Or will there be a limit to how many times one can regenerate hair cells?

On a side note, I'm getting a mouth splint for my bruxism and my TMD in 2 weeks or so. Maybe I'll obsess over that and forget about my tinnitus eventually.

With FX-322, should be able to rinse and repeat, but that is a ridiculous risk. Your days of blasting headphones are over if you know what is good for you.
