Cause of Tinnitus
Clogged ears cause by earwax buildup
Hi again today I went to my local GP and got my right ear checked up, he says that I might have some fluid in my ear that causes the ringing but he said that everything will be fine, since I'm also a bit worried about my situation, I decided to ask him if he's going to recommend me to an ENT specialist and he said yes, but before that I have to take this prescription nasal spray Nasonex and observe what's going to happen in 2 weeks, by then I have to come back and he'll arrange an appointment for me so I can see the specialist which is good in my opinion.

On the other hand I don't have any sinus issues whatsoever and my tinnitus is really low right now, better than when it was clogged up last week, should I take it?

He says the spray will help me to open my Eustachian tube but I'm just worried that it might worsen my condition.

I'd like to hear your experiences about taking this Nasonex spray. Thank you.

Just dusting off this old thread.

I can confirm that a generic version of Nasonex (mometasone furoate monohydrate) caused me to have new tones and a spike within hours. The reason I say I can confirm that it's the product is because a couple of weeks ago I used it once, for the first time in a couple of years and it led to a multiday spike that was reactive (a real phenomena, not made up on internet forums). I've been rock solid, low tinnitus, very stable for most of the past week so I am quite certain it is this stuff that is the cause.

The last time I used it a couple of years ago, I was in the depths of tinnitus and hyperacusis hell so didn't attribute much to the product but I do recall only using it a couple of times back then too before ceasing.

Looks like I am one of those who shouldn't use it.
