The assessment is 250 euros, goes towards the cost of the the device / treatment.I have received an appointment for 6th March 2020, but not quite sure whether to go or not given that I live in New Zealand.
I can get free accommodation but realistically how long will I have to stay in Dublin, and how much am I looking at regarding costs?
Am I better to wait for more conclusive results and reviews?
What is the name of the hostel? Clayton Hotel is around $125CAN a night and I will probably need to stay for two to three nights depending on the best deal I can get for the plane tickets. The assessment is 250 euros, goes towards the cost of the the device / treatment.
The device / treatment is about 2150 euro if paid up front.
Not sure about flights for you but I've found lodging totalling 60 dollars American for 3 nights using a hostel. Depending on the flights you might not need that much lodging.
I'm gonna stay at The Times hostel, about a 14 minute cab ride from the clinic. I got the cheapest option at about 14 bucks a night for the weeknights, the Friday is gonna be about 22 bucks, has good reviews, and a nightly pub route. What is the name of the hostel? I have free accommodation. Flights will be around $2,000 NZD return. I've been waiting for this for the best part of a year, but now that it's here I seem to be managing OK. Just wondering really how long I will need to be in Ireland, and hence take off work? The assessment is 250 euros, goes towards the cost of the the device / treatment.

I've been thinking this over a bit. I'm definitely going to ask at my appointment.I don't recall why Neuromod opted for 2x 30 minutes or 1x 60 minutes per day for the treatment duration. Was it for user compliance reasons or was doing 2x 60 minutes worse or not better? Or was it not tested?
One of the patients in the testimonials (Ken?) had severe reactive tinnitus.Sorry I followed the thread but severe tinnitus is making my brain into a pulp. Are there people with REACTIVE tinnitus who benefited from Lenire? I mean really reactive. I am aware of Allan's negative case.
How long did you use Lenire then?I stopped using Lenire 2-3 weeks ago, probably because my tinnitus was generally better (good and bad days), with bad days more manageable but still bothersome.
It was for compliance reasons. I think if you asked people to devote more time than that, you'd see compliance fall off. I've done more sessions on the weekend, when I have more free time. It's hard to say if it had a massive effect, but I didn't experience a spike or anything like that afterwards.I don't recall why Neuromod opted for 2x 30 minutes or 1x 60 minutes per day for the treatment duration. Apparently it's reactive cases that respond the best.Sorry I followed the thread but severe tinnitus is making my brain into a pulp. Are there people with REACTIVE tinnitus who benefited from Lenire? I mean really reactive. I am aware of Allan's negative case.
My tinnitus reacts to white noise. I have hearing aids with white noise up to 8 kHz designed around my hearing loss, but when I remove them the tinnitus is worse for quite some time. Also, other sound therapies like violet noise or white noise played from speakers tend to irritate the tinnitus and make it louder. Have any patients with these features benefited from Lenire?
Pro: I'm desperate for relief, there is not much else with even limited clinical studies support.
Con: I am concerned it can worsen my tinnitus and my tinnitus is so distressful that even a temporary worsening would be a disaster.
It's not super-expensive but all together with travelling etc it's relevant money for me.
That's good news, thanks. Just for clarity, by reactivity I mean that listening to white noise and the likes spikes the tinnitus, I don't refer to hyperacusis. I had heard that hyperacusis patients are super-responders but I was not sure about reactive tinnitus like mine.Apparently it's reactive cases that respond the best.
Lenire helps reactive tinnitus the most?? Mine is somatic too... If I sit in a silent room, my tinnitus is very low. If my tinnitus wasn't reactive and sounds masked it I would be fine.Apparently it's reactive cases that respond the best.
That's what they said and what my own personal research suggests. I suspect somatic sufferers also get more of a reduction, but this is based on Susan Shore, not Lenire.Lenire helps reactive tinnitus the most?? Mine is somatic too... If you need more time to think you could have my May appointment!I finally got an appointment for March 2020, after applying in June. Still on the fence to go through with it, since my tinnitus has somewhat improved and become a little more manageable.
It made me wonder if the benefit isn't just down to desensitizing the auditory system like they used to do with white noise generators.Apparently it's reactive cases that respond the best.
My tinnitus is very reactive, especially to white noise. Lenire made my tinnitus louder for a week or so and from then onwards just for an hour or so after each treatment.Sorry I followed the thread but severe tinnitus is making my brain into a pulp. It was 100% for compliance reasons. I asked a few times.I've been thinking this over a bit. I'm definitely going to ask at my appointment.
Perhaps you as a current user can email them, I'd love to know if anyone has tried this yet and how it turned out.
I don't believe Neuromod have said that, are you confusing it with hyperacusis?Apparently it's reactive cases that respond the best.
That would scare me shitless!Lenire made my tinnitus louder for a week or so and from then onwards just for an hour or so after each treatment.
From where did you get this info?Apparently it's reactive cases that respond the best.
Users can control volume and tongue tip intensity? Have they given you any pointers on that? Have you mentioned this to Neuromod?Messing with the settings has a direct and noticeable effect on my tinnitus.
They said hyperacusis but it's also believed reactivity is a form of hyperacusis. From what I've seen people who tried it with reactive tinnitus had good results.I don't believe Neuromod have said that, are you confusing it with hyperacusis?
Neuromod told me that they did not see the same response from hyperacusis in TENT-A2.
They walk you through it all when you get your device. I learnt quickly to trust the device fitter and to stop messing with the settings.Users can control volume and tongue tip intensity? Have they given you any pointers on that? Have you mentioned this to Neuromod?
Hello, Redknight. I hope you are well.My tinnitus is very reactive, especially to white noise. Lenire made my tinnitus louder for a week or so and from then onwards just for an hour or so after each treatment.
