Lenire — Bimodal Stimulation Treatment by Neuromod

Dear Once,

HOPE is all we got now...

Looks like Neuromod is not going to be available in the US for a year and I need to do something for my loud tinnitus.

Dr. Shulman prescribed you Klonopin at a low dose of 1/2 of .5mg (.25mg?) in mid February 2019 and you have taken it since and have felt much better.

Are you able to keep at .25mg? Have you added Gabapentin since Dr. Shulman suggested waiting until May 2019?

I am thinking to reinstate Klonopin .25mg/Gabapentin and to wait for Neuromod.

I need right-eye cataract surgery and am thinking of re-starting Klonopin .25mg after the surgery. My tinnitus was due to Ativan withdrawal (but am now benzo free) and do not have experience of Klonopin.

Please provide any comments/suggestions. Many thanks.
Klonopin is a benzo.

I wonder when Neuromod will offer Lenire in Spain. I do not think they are interested in the Latin American market. My English is bad enough to fail traveling to another country.

With all due respect, unless you've had tinnitus for 25+ years like I have, you don't know what forever feels like.
No need to make this a pissing contest. We are all in the same boat here.

I suspect they will get it to South American countries soon after FDA.

"What we've developed is a stable platform technology for the rapid development and evaluation of other innovative neuromodulatory interventions," O'Neill says. "This core technology is intended to form the basis for a pipeline of new products aimed at globally unmet clinical needs and high-value market opportunities."

I hate sales and marketing pitches!

I think your English seems OK, certainly for basic travelling needs. It's amazing how little language knowledge you can get away with. A decade ago I managed to travel around Argentina with almost no Spanish (and a lot of people didn't speak English either).

I have hyperacusis, tinnitus, with hearing loss in one ear. I heard it will not help with hearing loss patients?

I would even choose for the option to be deaf on one side and not have my tinnitus anymore... But this is not an option...

FYI, I emailed Neuromod today, they asked me to add myself to their mailing list and they said they are currently completing trials and working hard to bring their product onto the market.

Wow! We haven't heard that before! NOT REGULARLY FOR THE PAST YEAR OR SO, FOR SURE!

It's all GROUNDBREAKING news!

They are working to complete their clinical trial! WOW! AMAZING!

They are working VERY HARD to bring their product onto the market! ARE YOU SURE? CAN THAT BE TRUE? WHAT IF IT'S NOT? WHAT IF THEY ARE JUST EATING DOUGHNUTS ALL DAY LONG.

Based on their trial you couldn't have more than 80 dB hearing loss, so you can still have quite a bit of hearing loss and this could still work for you. You also have to remember this was just an exclusion requirement for their trial, so it is possible it may work with even more hearing loss. They just have to set up criteria for the peer review process.

I haven't been on the forum regularly so I was just sending an update.

I met them when I helped at the expo on behalf of Tinnitus Hub in Birmingham and had a good chat with a couple of members of staff, was following up for my personal information.

I doubt they'll be eating doughnuts all day, or deliberately slowing the process down with all the potential interest.

Please don't shout, it hurts my ears.

Where did you hear that?

I thought that Neuromod believed that every person with tinnitus has hearing loss to some degree...

Unless you are speaking about profound hearing loss?

Let's all just admit what we are hoping for next; the price being under £2k for @annV to post a picture of her boobs.

IIRC In the interview with Ross O'Neill back in September, Ross claimed that people with hyperacusis saw the most significant improvements. I also believe it significantly reduced the hyperacusis/eliminated it for some. I think @Clare B had that experience.
Sorry, I meant where did you hear that it won't work for people who have hearing loss :) ta

June 24 Monday is what I'm hearing. The source that has close ties to Neuromod knows they are aiming for that but it could be a week or two later. They are waiting for the confirmation of some regulatory red tape. They will update their lenire.ie website and Twitter immediately when you can start booking appointments.

Pricing wise I'm hearing just a notch under €4000 (which would mean no boob pics). They can charge this because of the two large clinical trials that none of the other tinnitus treatment devices have undergone.

Take with a grain of salt. My source is dependable but things can change.

I read

'The first patient was enrolled on 20 March 2018 with the last assessment planned for June 2019. Our reporting follows standard protocol items for clinical trials defined in the SPIRIT 2013 Statement 61'

How is June an option?
