Meniere's Disease

Sue....sometimes I get very light headed and feel like I am going to pass out during YOGA. I thought it was because my breathing was off. Now, I am wondering if it is because of my inner ear issues.

well, guess who fell down last night, totally spraining her ankle?! I iced it all night, but woke because my bed got soaked. been up since about 3am.

This trip is fan-diddly-tastic! lol

Hi guys!

Help! I don't know what to do. After 2 years of T and H (chronic) I am now experiencing fullness, increased tinnitus and vertigo attacks. .have had 2 now and feels like 3rd one coming on..I am also super sensitive certain motions and get dizzy easily it seems.

Doc prescribed serc, does it work? Mentioned something about positional Vertigo? ugh this really really sucks.

How are you doing @Street Spirit?

I have ear fullness daily...with varying degrees of severity for about a year. I have had dizziness but not vertigo. The only meds I am currently taking are a diuretic and OTC (Benedryl, Ibuprohen, and Clariton).

A question for all MD sufferers. How does dizziness and balance problems affect you on a daily basis? Does it gradually get worse? Is your balane significantly worse now, then before MD? Are you able to do the same things as before, during good periods?

I'm highly suspecting MD. Got all the symptoms (almost) Started three weeks ago. T, H, fullness, had one big vertigo attack lasting three hours, hearing loss in my affected ear, and mostly (maybe only, too) in the low frequencies. Have not yet had any balance problems, and only been bothered with dizzieness once, today. (not counting the vertigo attack, ofc) Felt like a mix between being on a boat and a carousel, i freaked out and ran around in my apartment doing priouettes (i know, it's a really weird thing to do given the circumstances....) to see if i had lost the ability to do so, and oddly it went away after about ten min.

But im freaking out, like close to having a massive panic attack, cause i'm a figure skater, AND I FREAKING NEED MY BALANCE :( I've been doing it since i was six, and i'm now 26, and can't really see myself being happy if i can't do it.

I have an appoinment with an ENT in a week, and i know i should realx cause it can probably be a million other things, but the symptoms fits too good.

@norah

Everyone is VERY different. I don't struggle with balance issues on a daily basis. I go to my gym 3-4 times a week. I go to YOGA 2 times a week and I seem to manage fine.

I have more issues with T, H, fullness and fluctuating hearing loss more in my left ear. I believe that is another indication of MD in that it typically affects one ear.

Thanks, Teri! Event thoguh it's different for everyone, seeing how active you can be is helping me relax a little :) When I first started reading about MD, I looked up info in my own language. I live in a small scandinavian country, so there is obv not a lot of info, and the little I found were quite unpleasant to read.

@norah

A Meneires Diagnosis can mean having slight, moderate, severe symptoms daily, weekly, monthly, a few times a year, to once a year to every few years....etc...

Don't invite problems that are not present. You will learn to not stress so much and take each day as it comes.

I'm much like Teri. My balance issues are mild, can still go about my daily life, symptoms are H, T, fluctuating hearing loss, and then balance and fullness (in that order).
