At first I liked the Susan Shore team. Now I think they're kinda whack because they wont explain how their machine works. I know enough about microcontrollers, computer programming, and electronics to easily replicate their device and ease my discomfort. I think they're just waiting around trying to figure out how to make the most money off of their discovery. If you know how to cure a disease it shouldnt be a trade secret. There should be some kind of government subsidy to make sure they get paid for their work or something. I hate this world.

Maybe because there is a conspiracy in the medical industry to not cure anything and use our diseases as a way to milk us for cash.
I don't think it's a conspiracy at all. It's just an end result of capitalism. I have in the past read stories of wealthy sports stars and celebrities with curable versions of tinnitus actually getting it treated. But you barely ever hear about normal people getting those same results. The medically recommended treatments for us common folk include opioids and trt, both of which are subscription-based. Given that it is more profitable to make money by putting patients on subscription-based models, like medication, it's no surprise that we don't have cures for many ailments whose is ultimate solution should in fact be a complete cure.

I had to printscreen this post because the dinosaurs got sent to the shadow realm

In my mind if they have the solution and are withholding it because it's not as profitable then that's a conspiracy and these people deserve to be thrown in a gulag and worked to death.

@Champ where do rich people get cured of tinnitus?
i don't believe that, calling BS
Yeah William Shartner isnt claiming to be cured. Not only is he probably rich, he was Captain of the Starship Enterprise. He lived in the Nexus for like 70 years and still never cured his T. I think our only hope for a cure is that cochlear hair regrowing goop.

Not everyone has medically treatable tinnitus. But some people do.

I know with certainty that my TMJ is causing my tinnitus to be louder than it needs to be. When I'm able to relax my jaw (which is not often) the ringing goes down 80%. I have been to multiple doctors and they all tell me to use a mouthguard at night but also say it doesnt look like I grind my teeth so it probably won't help. I have tried the mouthguard - it's done nothing. The issue is the jaw joint pops in my left side constantly, and I would need surgery to fix that. That would be very expensive and could be very dangerous. So it's a tough situation for me.

Same exact deal with me.

Wow. Just think about these words for a second.
(yes, I know, I quoted my own post.)
Habituation research. Habituation. Research.

What??!!

Why spend extensive resources researching how to "habituate" to the problem, when you can spend those resources researching a cure to get rid of the problem!
Why. WHY??
idiocracy

i love that song! catchy AF
Welcome to MPP newcomer, the one thread on tinnitus talk that uses memes to raise awarness for actual treatments for tinnitus sufferers. We are also the largest thread in general chat that is starting to take on a major influence on this site!

I drew again. This time it's Luluco from the excellent series Space Patrol Luluco. The one show Trigger didn't fuck up.

I love that show so much too. It's the one time Trigger was was really in their element and did what they do best - create something that's a mix of crazy, hype, heartwarming, and emotional.
I have a weeb pal of mine that loves this anime, it seemed pretty obscure to me. I'm surprised to hear it has such a fanbase!

I watched the anime myself expecting it to be a My Life as a Teenger Robot esque anime literally completely based on my own assumptions but I was let down when it was very short and way to flashy, still enjoyable.

That's a good way to look at the anime, It seemed super ADHD and heartwarming at the same time, that's what confused me.

It's really Imaishi's brain in action (the guy who directed it). He also directed Panty & Stocking which is equally insane and enjoyable (a lot more vulgar, a lot less heartwarming). I really love that style because no one else does it and I'm a fan of weird esoteric styles.

Guys...Otonomy.com homepage shows what may even be a comprehensive portfolio of hearing loss and tinnitus treatments in the pipeline. And I mean real regenerative treatments, zero bullshit.
I know there have been many posts about Otonomy here.

OTONOMY IS GOD INCARNATE
