My absolutely favourite time of year. Only problem is, England sucks balls at celebrating it. :(

When I was a kid, I used to dream of living in America and celebrating Halloween.
You can still have a good time celebrating Halloween even if your area is really bad at it!

Dim the lights, put on some cheesy black and white creature features (or 70's-80's Slashers. Whichever you prefer.) And just soak in the athmosphere.

And for what it's worth, a lot of the huge, bombastic Halloween celebrations you see on TV are works of Hollywood, unfortunately. Not really indicative of the actual thing. But probably still more celebatory than the U.K.

You guys seem really... minimalistic. :cautious:

Oh we are. I hate it. I've always felt I didn't really belong in England.

What I tend to do, is go on a ghost tour or fright night. Because we have loads of history, there is usually some sort of good scare night on.

Edit: actually England is great for fright nights around old castles and supposedly haunted places. Maybe I'm not giving us enough credit.

Well it's not really celebrated over here.
Lol, that's an understatement.

We'll be lucky if the BBC even broadcasts that one lone showing of Halloween 2 for the 100th year in a row...

They actually didn't even broadcast that last year, so I guess it'll be the "spooky" Strictly Come Dancing Halloween Special again this October 31st... (y)

Halloween is going to be special alright... #WhyFontsMatter

Well it's not really celebrated over here. I think it used to be more, but we never go full out or anything. Not many houses have trick or treat. Not many Halloween parties etc.
Oh yes. Trick or treat is fun here. I always enjoy dressing up and passing candy. I'm not much into parties, but it's fun having a few people over.

Yeah, I know. I was lucky really because my mum was a goth so she loved Halloween. We used to have some good house parties. She's with a boring man now, and doesn't throw the parties anymore :(

My friends and I usually go to somewhere old and abandoned and do a Ouija board lol. Last year, we done one at the Potsford Gibbet (old hanging post) down the woods, in the middle of nowhere in Suffolk (where I live). It was freaky haha! Then we do a couple of fright nights. Scaresville is a good one. Again, it's in Suffolk.

I didn't realise you were in England?

My sister went as Jimmy Savile to a party once... he was an actual sexual predator haha!

She also went as Jesus one time - And as a brick wall.
OMG Steph!! HA HA!!

I totally remember that Halloween costume.

It was the number 1 best seller that year (2013) (two years after his death, and all the allegations about him had flooded the media).

Amazon got so many complaints from OUTRAGED! parents, that it had to be removed... people still wore it though... obviously... because this is England innit!!

I've always wanted to go on a Jack The Ripper tour.

Is this the outfit everyone is talking about? Damn, it's like Austin Powers and a 90's Rave DJ made a baby together.

Actually, my sister made her own Jimmy Savile costume - she didn't even buy one haha.

I still think the best was her dressing as a brick wall. She basically wanted to go in something that was the least slutty thing possible, because she was fed up of girls dressing as sexy nuns, nurses etc. So yeah, she decided to be a brick wall. It was great!

The British love a good pedo haha! My mates and I are always calling each other pedo. Such a great insult.

To dress up in this way here in Portugal, carnival is celebrated. Halloween here is more clubbing and little else, it's not as themed as in the United States.
