I will be able to enjoy music again.
And you'll celebrate not having stopped getting music.

I started playing trombone at the age of 7 but since my neighbours didn't enjoy it a lot, my parents persuaded me to moving to clarinet, which I really liked. After years of playing mainly bass clarinet (a really cool instrument you mainly listen in TV adverts) I started rehearsing with friends in a more jazzy context (my background was classical). Jumping to rock I realized I was not getting any girls as bass clarinet is a weird instrument to headbang to.

I then (21 years old) moved to tenor & soprano saxophones. I spent the next 15 years playing them in lots of bands ranging from jazz to rock to classical sets, avantgarde, soul, heavy funk, free improvisation, etc... Toured Europe extensively for months not going back home. A hell of a musical experience. As you can imagine I've always been an avid music consumer. Well, tinnitus arrived and I had to reconfigure my way of understanding and living music. It was HARDCORE. I stopped playing, attending gigs, sold my gear, well... Nightmarish.

I'm used now and saving money to buy a soprano sax the day I get rid of this.

Lol, just randomly bumped into a huge banner of a super exciting Netflix show right across the Royal Palace in The Hague. You definitely won't regret watching this. Be sure to jot it down in your agenda: 3rd of September - Season 5 of La Casa de Papel(y)

Let's season this thread.

This for the ladies ❤️. And anyone who appreciates it. Keep them bikinis and swimsuits coming! Or shadows, they sometimes make the best clothes.

Who dares?

Tell us more about the story behind the photo!
Aura - I was really afraid somebody would ask that question.

I will tell you the truth.

I suffered neglect and abuse as a little kid, so I grew up to be very depressive and unsure of myself.

I desperately needed / wanted to develop some confidence. In desperation I wondered if building a good strong body would help me to feel better about myself. I started weight training and worked hard at it.

I developed a pretty good body, but unfortunately of course it did nothing to remedy my problem.

By age 20 I was reading a lot of psychology books, and searching for the hidden answers to what had gone wrong during my childhood.

Amazingly I found exactly what I was looking for and started out on a road to recovery, with the aid of a course of psychotherapy, which helped me to realise that my infancy had been seriously distorted.

To refer back to the photograph - one month earlier I had answered an advert - a London based jazz band was looking for a trombonist to join them for an engagement in Germany.

When I showed up at the rehearsal rooms there were four of us young hopefuls who were given an audition. I got the job.

On arrival in Düsseldorf myself and the guitarist went for a walk around the town, and came across this statue.

It was early in the morning with nobody about.

I couldn't resist it - I stripped off down to my underpants and socks, climbed up onto the statue, and my buddy took the photo.

So not a very awe inspiring story, but that was the truth of it.

Bet you wished you hadn't asked now?!?!

All that training really paid off because you are bareback riding that horse with confidence (pride...?)!

This is literally amazing!! Can you quote any funny parts from some of them? I would love an extract. :)

I kept a diary for a year when I was 21. I read it back very recently, and all it pretty much contains is a biography of a horny 21 year old girl always trying to get laid lol. And when she did get laid, complaining it wasn't good enough!

"Kat is going on vacation with her Grandmother. (Who is fucking loaded, apparently.)"

From when my friend Kat went on vacation with her grandmother, who paid for the whole thing. (I haven't seen Kat in awhile. Trying to reduce how much I go out due to both my facial symptoms, and the Delta variant).

Only one diary?

Lol.

I guess you were t'boning people around!

Great shot. Looking forward to more fellow tinnitians joining our empowerment route.
Wow, you can tell the difference right away with that super sharp resolution.

Cute dog! Looks like a real guard dog if you ask me. What's his/her name and breed?
Her name is Buba. No clue about her breed. Probably Pitbull there along a real enchilada of multiple breeds. She was abandoned being thrown by the fence in front of my cabin when she was just a puppy. Super assertive dog, chill and laid back, plays territorial games in a very smart way. She's very happy living there with plenty of grass to roll over on and forest to run through by. A happy, healthy, loveable pet.

What a sweet story & it really shows that you're a true gem. I wish that there were more people like you who want to take care for stray cats n' dogs.

No way would I do it if the animal were going to live in a flat or apartment despite how large it was. I just conceive them being able to enjoy wide open spaces. Seeing them dogs and cats running and playing around shows how healthy that lifestyle is for them.
