Do you live near Bergen like @Exit? Do you guys know each other in person?

No, by no means. I haven't got a clue who he is Norway is quite a large/long country in area, but few people per sqm in many places.

But I live on the south west coast too.

When we got it, it had small electric lights that were very, very old. She had cut small holes into the fabric to put the lights through. The wiring had become a bit frazzled so we took them out and replaced them with battery operated ones. I would estimate it to be around 60 to 70 years old.

What do you guys eat for Christmas Eve?

Our menu is Fisherman's soup, stuffed cabbage, fried fish with potato salad and "bejgli".

We, Romanians, eat A LOT on Christmas.

We usually start with an appetizer plate (like the one above).

Then we eat sarmale (cabbage rolls) with mămăligă (polenta), piftie (jelly/aspic), roast pork, pork sausages murături (pickle).

For desert we have cozonac ( a kind of cake/sweet bread).

Haha... Anytime! I may go all out and make all my favorite dishes!

Cooking has always helped me "cope" with tinnitus.

It is a great distraction for me and of course my tummy and my family appreciates it.

What kind of earmuffs do you have on? They look less bulky than mines. You look really pretty with them. Totally pulling off the green earmuffs.

Do you use ear protection when going out?

Yesterday we visited some friends. 8 adults, 3 children and lots of noise (constantly above 80 dB and this just by talking/laughing, the music wasn't loud.) My ears went crazy even with my earmuffs on.

Haha... it is a favorite in this house. Have you tried guava paste before??? It is so good.

A sweet piece of guava with the salame, and your favorite cheese on a cracker is heavenly.

I like the Columbus salame. (I'm sure there are many other brands that are as delicious.)

And of course the Goya guava paste.
