I still strongly believe that there has to be a way to ingest something that will regenerate our hearing. I've said this many times that when they were testing ly411575 on rats the initially administered it orally and it was successful in the goal of restoring hearing. That was a pure gamma secretase inhibitor though and anything else from a plant source will probably not be as potent. These little cell signalling pathways certainly won't only respond to man made lab chemicals. The question is how to get enough to permeate the blood labyrinth barrier to affect the progenitor cells and or the neurons and their synapses.

@JohnAdams : good out-of-the box thinking. So now we have to search for the holy grail. As far as your story proofs: we can reach the inner ear. As far as what should reach the inner ear: what natural 'gamma secretase inhibitors' do we know of we did not try before?

If I go into a silent room and plug my right ear I can just barely hear it. No hyperacusis, for now. I still am getting fleeting tinnitus but it sounds totally different than it used to.
@JohnAdams hello! I feel so excited and happy for you, the progress you've had is amazing. Once again my support and congratulations for what you did. And you have showed that this treatment works, this is getting on top of my list. The courage you have had, to come to this forum and share your progress in an informative and humble way, knowing it might not work, speaks awesome things about you, thanks a lot colleague!

Please keep us posted with your progress, but for me this is a 100% strong success what you did, your right ear seems to have healed. My respects and thanks for sharing, don't stop letting us know, we are by your side!

This is great news that John saw really good results with just one round one of treatments ! Further treatments can be expected to reap even more restoration.

@JohnAdams I found this thread today and it has been very exiciting to read about your journey to south korea and recovery. People like you can actually make difference by searching for treatments and sharing the experience and information. We have the ability to make impact for the future.

Anti-inflammatory and vasodilatory substances.

What can I purchase that would contain this?
Niacin is vasodilator and BPC-157 builds new blood vessels. I'd be interested to see if BPC-157 would work with DSMO. Sounds like the perfect way to get BPC past the eardrum. I used BPC along with Lion's Mane that helps with nerve regeneration and saw a change in my tinnitus.

Sorry I haven't been around but that's awesome news your tinnitus is getting better!! I ran the BPC-157 with Lion's Mane for a month which boost NGF and saw a decrease in tinnitus and my hyperacusis has completely gone away. I'm still using the Lion's Mane. My tinnitus does spike if I'm exposed to loud sound still.

Are there any decent threads on Tinnitus Talk regarding BPC-157, or is there any decent literature you're aware of that you could share? Have you experienced any side effects while taking the supplement?

@Lane, you know anything of BPC-157? That spray was interesting, they did have the injections in conjunction.

Regarding DMSO in general, if you guys can find the substances which need to be permeated, I can attest to the permeating capabilities of DMSO. Also, it's serious business and not to be underestimated. It would be great if we could find some sort of dated practitioning notes regarding these old studies. Regardless, it does seem that it all would require knowledge and practice of intramuscular injections.

How are you doing now?
My right ear is almost totally silent. On Monday my mom tried to kiss me on the cheek and instead smooched me right in my left ear and it was very very loud and my ear immediately started ringing again and it hasn't subsided and I'm actually really worried that all my improvements in my left ear have been wiped out.

Maybe just a temp spike shouldn't be too bad , are you still hearing clearly , I don't believe that it'll wipe out all the good stuff shim did

are you still hearing clearly
yes. I actually had to attend a meeting with some corporate clients onsite at one of their factories yesterday and I had to take copious notes and there was alot of noise from the running machines and air movers and I could hear them fine.

I hope you're right. Pretty scary though. This spike has been taking an emotional toll on me, and maybe I should just try and relax.

What did Shim say?

Oh man. I hope it subsides again. Deep breaths and try to stay calm.

@JohnAdams,

It would seem that even though you are experiencing healing, and that some hair cells are coming back online and therefore are able to perceive sound, your damaged cells' infantile state of healing is extremely precarious. I wonder how habitually you are protecting your ears? It seems that you have a scenario of attrition in which you are hoping that your ears heal faster than your environment can abuse them.

With cells and perceptivity coming back online, I wonder if red light or oxygen therapies could help to mitigate the fragile and vulnerable state of your newly responsive cells. Perhaps you have tried these therapies in the past and experienced no favorable response simply because your cells/nervous infrastructure were either dead or too damaged to be galvanized; but I would wager that you could find some benefit from these therapies now.

If anyone recalls ATEOS' stem cell venture, the clinic utilized LLLT in tandem with Oxygen in order to enable the stem cell treatment's efficacy. Obviously this is not a pure SC treatment, and though we have not been presented with the absolute specifics of Shim's procedure, according to his patent it is possible and even likely that stem cells were involved in this procedure; and even if they were not, raw PRP it is a comparable premise.

BPC-157 is still being tested and it has not been tested on humans much as far as I know. The body building world has been using it for a while though. I haven't experienced any side effects at all and haven't heard of anyone else either. It is a naturally occurring compound in the human body so side effects are likely to be mild or nonexistent. It's a peptide that is present in the stomach of humans that heals the lining of the stomach.

Can you please PM me where can I purchase it?

How much would one need to dilute DMSO to apply to inner ear with an eyedropper?

Dunno yet.
I'm sorry you had a set back mate... it is very possible our anxieties exacerbate our condition. We are so fragile, wlaking through minefields every day. My instinct tells me you're going to return back to normal ASAP and keep enjoying improvements. Deep breaths, a long run, and stay chill. Everybody here is pulling for you and supports you.

So on that note, speedy recovery mate, want you back 110 percent ASAP.

Daniel

BPC-157 has to be injected. Are you injecting it into your ears?

Sounds similar to the spikes I get when I drop a glass/mug onto a countertop or most other kitchen activities. Hope it passes.

It doesn't need injected. It can be ingested also... it comes from the stomach. I've been using it as a nasal spray. I wasn't using it to correct hearing exactly but improvement in tinnitus did happen. I also can't be sure what that was from. I never said I was using it for hearing loss or tinnitus.

Generally, when applied topically, from what I understand, most dilute to about 50 percent solution. For the inner ear I'm not sure; I mean, I have put about 30 percent solution in my ear canal before, and I noticed nothing. Though I didn't use a pipette, I used a q-tip; and I only superficially applied within the canal. The solution definitely didn't touch my eardrum.

If you have any questions about DMSO, I would defer to @Lane. He also has a new thread concerning certain DMSO applications:

https://www.tinnitustalk.com/thread...for-tonic-tensor-tympani-syndrome-ttts.34425/

Personally, I have used DMSO and experimented quite a bit. I can say that I have had some wonderfully positive results, as well as some both minor and decently severe side effects. DMSO is no joke, I'd definitely do research before utilizing it haphazardly. That being said, I do think it is possible for it to have some therapeutic effects on the inner ear. The injections that Lane quoted previously in this thread intrigued me. DMSO is definitely a wonderful tool, I just wish more practitioners recognized its value, and that I could utilize it under supervision and regiment rather than experimenting on myself.

If ever there is a problem regarding permeability or vascularity, you better believe that DMSO could be involved in the answer.

Hi John, I'm new to Tinnitus Talk. In fact, this is my first post. I want to thank you for talking about your experiences at Dr Shim's. I was reading about your experience, and though not posting. I found you to be very credible, despite some negative comments thrown at you and Dr Shim. And as a result, I went to Dr Shim's, and like you, I was there for two weeks, and got treated every day, except Sunday. I just got back to Phoenix last night.
