  • nothing more disappointing than thinking you've come across some exciting new research just to find a two year old thread about it on here
I don't give a fuck about tinnitus anymore lol I just want my hyperacusis gone.

I change that Same thought on a daily basis

I'm working with an audiologist with treble health. She has helped severe cases and has 15 years experience. I told her I'm going to document my journey. She understands I react to a lot of things and will take it slow

    Btw year here no improvement
my take is that no one should blame themselves for their tinnitus. even if it could have been avoidable with earplugs.

Or being a goober and listening to super load music like myself. My mother told me something similar, its easier to say than actually do. Self pity/loathing can be addictive I think.

@ThomasF yeah I agree. It's very easy to victimize yourself with this condition. truth is though, that lots of people abuse their ears on a daily basis and don't get tinnitus. none of us choose to have a shitty auditory system/brain.
I'm missing out on so much because of this shit, and I like to pretend that I dont care bc life is meaningless, but it hurts.

Social media is an illusion for the most part. It tends to give this impression that everyone but you is having so much fun 24/7, but in reality that's far from the truth. No one is having that much fun. I always say this, If you knew how much everyone else was faking it, you wouldn't want to join them in the first place.

I hear ya man, music was my lifeblood and every show I gotta pass up because of this shit is a kick in the gut. I got off social media as well for the same reason. But something's gotta give, I have hope we will get our lives back someday, somehow!
boss had me call her business to check if the phone was working...her voicemail has the most piercing beeps I've ever heard in my damn life
    D
Don't you just hate it that all devices have the most piercing beeps that man could ever invent... Voicemail, POS's, barcode readers etc. Even before all ear shit, they seemed just so unnecessarily loud.

It's like getting hearing issues gave us super Sonic hearing that detects all annoying sounds no one else bothers to deal with
    Foamearplugssuck
@Shelbylynn right and then when you complain about it people give you the weirdest look!
I need frequency or otonomy or whoever the fuck is going to save us to hurry it up so I can get back in the studio……

same! my life has been on hold since this got so bad... fuckk , much love bro! I am hoping we get relief soon!
decided to treat myself today and listen to some demos I made last year......man do they slap
    ZFire
What kind of music do you like making?
    ZFire
House and techno I'm gonna guess
    Foamearplugssuck
@ZFire haha I was starting to dabble in house and uk garage before I got H. I usually make electronic/synth pop stuff. Also used to make boom bap beats too lol
we need some good news. If I don't get good news in the next couple of months I'm going feral.
    ThomasF
Some good news that I can share from observations on this site is that a few of our fellow members are venturing to try out the Hough institutes experimental drug intended to repair damaged hearing. That's a step forward in my eyes regardless of what the outcome could be.
None of the free online versions of euphoria have captions so I cant watch the season finale this will be my villain origin story

The good thing is that HBO max has some other shows and stuff so that's my justification for having it.
    Foamearplugssuck
@Shelbylynn yeah I ended up getting an HBO max trial so I can binge a bunch of shows before it ends. it all worked out I guess!
not to be a downer but I fucking hate my job and I will always always always be bitter about how music was taken from me for no damn reason
I literally do not know how I'm still alive with tinnitus/hyperacusis. I feel like I should just jump off a bridge. but hope dies hard.
man, I just want to go to an underground rave and get fucked up. why won't my brain let me have fun smh
    Shelbylynn
I feel this so much. I miss concerts and shows. I miss live music. I miss getting drunk and dancing. RIP my youth.
    D
@Steph1710 I make originals and covers in various genres of EDM, trap, dubstep, synthwave and such. Sometimes more ambient, lofi etc. Only played a few times as a DJ, but not seeing myself doing it again soon lol.
    Steph1710
@DimLeb not really my thing. I was always more into 90s dance hall, acid house, jungle, piano house, dnb, jump up, and break beat. Perhaps a bit of raga tek too. I guess it's an age thing for me. I'm a 90s child after all.
fuck I want to get my ears pierced so badly ksdjfhskdfhsdfh but that would be so dumb and pointless with hyperacusis aghhhhhskdjhfskjh
haven't been on here in a little over a week. have I missed anything good, or is it the same old doom and gloom?
    Stacken77
The Doom Brigade is alive and well.
