  • Not gonna lie.. struggling a bit with the side effects of resuming the AD prescription. .Maybe worse beforr better moments?*sigh*

You will feel much better soon I am sure. The meds can be a life safer. Hope you feel better very soon.
    BrOKeN_1
@Ryan Scott fluoxetine (aka prozac) low dose 10mg. Hopefully they get to work and I don't have to bump up.
    BrOKeN_1
@4Grace definitely.. I'm pretty sure if successful I'll commit to staying on them long term. At least until there is a sufficient treatment for my type of tinnitus. Which I'm 99.9% sure is the culprit!
Day4 back on the meds. Body having that uncomfortable anxiety tingle. I know this shit will pass but damn it sucks getting used to.
    4Grace
@BrOKeN_1 I had to go back on meds too. Now I don't know if it's the Meds making me worse. Every time I go on them it's because I can't take it anymore. Then when I go on them and begin to feel better I want to come off. Afraid it's making T worse. I am sure this back and forth not good.

@4Grace yea.. I came off the meds in May thinking I was feeling much better and I could handle going it alone. But for some reason my tolerance took a nose dive nearly 2 weeks ago and now I'm in getting used to the meds agian shit cycle. Emotions are flowing.

@BrOKeN_1 - so sorry to hear that… I know how you feel - The irony that the meds we need to survive can make the condition we suffer from worse is the glaze on the cherry that sits on top of the icing on the cake.
There is a cricket IN my bedroom. In the past I would have found and put outside. Now. I'm like.... Sing Little Cricket Sing!!
    SarahMLFlemmer
Same! There was one in my garage! He left. I'm sad, lol.
    Dylan Blake
Were not for Your anguish of Tinnitus I would let the little Diva sing anyway, I like the songs, on a similar note they are supposed to be good luck.
Even after all this time it's hard to imagine this condition being permanent. Staying positive one day I'll glimpse silence agian.
    L along the way
Amen to that broken_1.. i tell myself every day.. time is a healer

@kingsfan you and me both brother. My tolerance has gone to shit this week. Anxiety is spiking. And I'm contemplating getting back on the meds after 6 months of being free of them. But enough about me.. sorry to hear your having a rough go all around at the moment.
    Juliane
I know exactly what you mean. It just goes against the very core of the human soul to accept or even adapt to this. Of course we want silence.
Met a man with cochlear implants last night. Said he had loud tinnitus for decades and eventually went deaf. No T after implant. Insightful

    Say what?!

@sakrt no choice but to take him at his word. If true that's good for him. I wish I would.of thought to ask if people sound different to him. Robotic even. Idk. It was a very short conversation in a poor environment for serious talk.

My ENT told me he had patients who were deaf and had Tinnuits. He said it's worse for them because they can't mask the noise. I believe he said it was the nerve that caused it.
Curious if anyone here has FLARE AUDIO products. I'm wondering if the CALMER may help those with hyperacusis or just loud sound in general.
    kingsfan
I have them. They don't really do anything, maybe round off high freq sounds ever so slightly. They're also hard to get out of your ears. Had to use tweezers once.
Been getting really mild dizzy/vertigo episodes lately. Don't know if it's related but it is rather annoying.
    kingsfan
I live half my life in a dizzy, brain-fogged state.
Nothing like a good headache to test your tolerance level. T sucks! It would be nice to get a break. I'm tired of this mental exercise. *-*

Got a cracker of a sore head myself, and my T is annoying me like crazy! Just drinking lots of water and hoping for the best. Fingers crossed. Hope it passes for you soon.
I know its bad right now and I feel like hell. Tapered off meds and perception did swell. One coffin.. one nail.. No. I fight to get well.
@BrOKeN_1, needed a hug yesterday and feeling anxious last week. How's the taper going?
    makeyourownluck
Didn't have you down as a rap fan @BrOKeN_1. Just looking through your posts. Was quite the surprise. Learn something new every day. I like rap too, usually just stuff that makes me giggle or reminds me of my younger partying years. Put links in the hip hop thread please :)
    BrOKeN_1
@makeyourownluck My last concert before T was actually a NF concert in Salt Lake City, UT. Took my teenagers! It was so much fun. P.S. I quit tapering and am just gonna stick to a lower dose for awhile.
    makeyourownluck
Sounds like the right thing to do re taper. The slower the better. YES! @BrOKeN_1, you one of those COOL dads :P!
Feeling uncomfortable and just generally anxious today..
    BrOKeN_1
@Joe Cuber there's a good chance it's due to my slow taper off Prozac..
    BrOKeN_1
@Joe Cuber Just patience and measured breathing. Then find a distraction. I'm feeling a bit better now. Thanks everyone.
    Supersix
@Joe Cuber I had my Dr prescribe Lorazepam for an emergency when I'm having a tough time. I only take it when needed and at bed time.
I do take antidepressants, but my doctor is upping the dose. What is/was your dose and what antidepressant?
    BrOKeN_1
Fluoxetine/Prozac 20mg currently. Works pretty good for me to suppress depression. Beats down the anxiety some as well.
As far as I can tell caffeine doesn't effect my T. But damn the caffine headaches. I need to calm tf down. I live on the stuff. Lol
    Lurius
I just cut diet pepsi completely from my life. I'm expecting massive swings and spikes from this, it might become unbearable actually, but the aspartam was giving me tummy aches twice a week.
    BrOKeN_1
@Lurius Its possible the carbonation was/is the culprit. I quit drinking carbonation about a year ago and I haven't had nearly the Stomach issues.
    Lurius
Ok, that's good to hear because I was literally screaming in pain in the middle of the night. It felt like I had some kind of metal worm crawling around in my guts. Literally.
Question? In your opinion would masking with a hearing aid be considered sound therapy? If not. What is your idea of sound therapy?
    Marshall
When I play call of duty with 2 speakers next to my ears. About a foot or 2 away from each ear. After I'm down playing my tinnitus is extremely calm. And it's a constant 50dbs for hours and hours. My tinnitus has been getting better.
    Marshall
I guess that's kings like sound therapy if you think about it
    BrOKeN_1
@Marshall I had to give up the FPS when I went zero headphone use. Just not the same.
