Clogged Ear and Nose After Semi Loud Event

Hello, unfortunately I'm back after a long time away. I initially got tinnitus more than 1 year ago due to acoustic trauma after a loud night out. It's had a lot of ups and downs since then and there was a point where I'd actually habituated. However I am refraining from literally everything...

Left Ear Got Very High Pitch Tinnitus After 2 Hours in a Loud Venue

Hi. I really messed up. I forgot my ear plugs going to a friend's birthday which got very loud at times. I measured it to be around 85 dB for the most part but occasionally got up to 90-92 dB. I was there for 2 hours and not inside the whole time. I was also not very worried since I have...

Recently Got a High Pitch Tinnitus — I Don't Know How to Deal

Hi, So after 1 year of the same low pitch tinnitus, I recently got a very high pitch that is constant but seems to fluctuate (kind of like a electronic sound that is always there but is static). It's very hard to ignore and although my old pitch seems to be gone -- or at least I can't hear it...

My Tinnitus Is Bearable Now, So Some Positivity

Hi, So even though the last week had its ups and downs with a few spikes, I spent a couple of nights in the past month in almost quietness. My tinnitus went from being unbearable at times to moderate to almost inaudible within the last year. It drained me a lot in every way and I'm still trying...

Going to a Concert While Having Tinnitus, Help?

So, I don't want to say you should or shouldn't do this. if you are going to feel super anxious maybe it's not worth it. I went to one concert since I got T, and it was a very small venue with barely any speakers and slow folk music. It didn't give me a spike. I made sure to stay away from the...

Ear Pain and Tinnitus Spike After Sleeping Wrong Way on Earplugs

I experienced this twice when I slept with earplugs in (although they were foam). I had pain, some drainage and a huge spike. It went away completely a week afterwards. Hope this helps! I did get my ears checked though in case there was any physical damage because I was worried about the...

Tinnitus and Hearing Loss from a Kiss on the Ear

Hi, I was wondering how you have been after this incident. I also recently received a kiss and hence a a high pitched addition to my existing low pitched tinnitus. But with my base low pitch, I am very used to it now and it's become very unintrusive since it began.

Kiss on the Ear, No Pain Afterwards. Can Tinnitus Permanently Spike?

Hi, Last night I received a kiss on the ear (by accident) and although it was quite loud I didn't experience immediate changes in tinnitus or any sensation of fullness. However, when I got back to a quieter setting I noticed that a new tone in my tinnitus had gotten louder. It wasn't a...

Street Musician Blasted in My Ear / Should I Take Methylprednisolone?

Hi, I was recently exposed to a loud street musician who decided to blast to his microphone super close to my ear as I was trying to quickly pass him. Street Musician Blasted in My Ear / Should I Take Methylprednisolone?

Ok I'm just trying to figure out if the momentary exposure to the musicians voice through the microphone would have caused damaged and might need to be treated with steroids.

Street Musician Blasted in My Ear / Should I Take Methylprednisolone?

I'm not experiencing fullness after the incident. I had experienced some after my initial acoustic trauma and was treated with steroids. However there is definitely no fullness this time and my audiogram (a couple days before this incident) was basically perfect.

Street Musician Blasted in My Ear / Should I Take Methylprednisolone?

Hi, So around 36 hours ago I was passing my a narrow street and as I passed him this street musician, who was playing at a rater safe volume decided to come near me and basically scream in my ear (with a microphone) I'm not sure how loud it was but I'm assuming it was above like 130 dB (maybe...

Tinnitus Worsened After Bone Conduction Tests at the Audiologist

But all in all I feel like it wasn't the bone conduction test, I'm relatively reassured by that now. It was more than 48 hrs after the exposure when the peak happened and I feel like physical fatigue and exposure to the loud working space probably has more to do with it.

Tinnitus Worsened After Bone Conduction Tests at the Audiologist

That's so weird. Do you know how it works and why it may be dangerous? There are several other things that may have been the cause of the spike so I don't want to necessarily point a finger at that. Especially since the first night there was no sign of a spike, but I noticed it the second night...

PS: I had gotten all the tests (including the pressure test) before in my primary audiologist. Nothing had happened to worsen it. Tinnitus Worsened After Bone Conduction Tests at the Audiologist

@Bill Bauer I feel like you may have experience with this kind of thing. Do you think it's likely to have given me a peak ( I will note that it was quiet enough to not be uncomfortable at the time so I didn't worry too much)

Audiology — What NOT to Do?

do you think the bone conductance test heightened your Tinnitus. I got onne done and it wasn't loud at all but the audiologist was incredibly rude to me even when I didn't want a tympanic test. Now I feel that my T has gotten much louder and I wonder if it can be due to the bone conductance.

Tinnitus Worsened After Bone Conduction Tests at the Audiologist

Tinnitus Worsened After Bone Conduction Tests at the Audiologist

Hi everybody, I am having a spike at the moment which is my first substantial spike. It is finals week so I feel like it may be due to stress but I was wondering if it could at all be linked to my most recent visit to the audiologist. So I got some tests done that I hadn't before. I didn't...

I wouldn’t think so. It might be related to you getting sick. Don’t think the worst of it. Short term episodes especially when you are sick are probably nothing to worry about. Sorry to hear about your accident. I hope you are better. Do you think it was acoustic trauma from the sound or...

So a couple of things happened today that may have caused this change in volume but also a lot of change in the pitch: I'm sick.
