Good to know. I know someone who can do electroacupuncture, and I might just try that out and see if it helps. Who knows? I've found that white noise in high frequency instantly lowers my reactive tinnitus, but only for a short period of time.

Even if they can't give me my hearing back, I would love to have the reactivity and ringing go down so that my hearing loss wasn't so obvious every day. If they can achieve that for me I'd gladly pay for it. Time will tell at this point.

I believe this is a more scientific way of looking at it. They can observe these cells as exhibiting the characteristics of hair cells (as we understand) but in the end they cannot conclude with certainty that they are exactly the same.
