Thanks. I ate the cream and took a bunch of antioxidants inlcuding those. I’m afraid my tinnitus has permanently increased a little bit but not too bad.

That's because a lot of things is placebo for most people. Notice for example how every diet, no matter how different (raw paleo vs raw vegan) makes everyone feel "soo amazing", it's all in their head. When a true cure comes it will probably work for you too. Try to live one day at a time, a...

I think the market won’t allow selling an inferior product. If all audiologists sell an inferior product, then one audiologist will sell the superior product to attract customers, and the rest will naturally follow.

I think the reason the link @ajc posted might be good news is not because ENTs might or might not learn to use the device, but because it means Neuromod is convinced of the effectiveness.

Stepped-Care CBT Treatment from the University of Maastricht

Since tinnitus is almost always a symptom of hearing loss, perhaps the focus should be on hearing loss research instead of tinnitus. I don’t see a lot CBT type stuff for hearing loss, meaning the money is probably better spent on hearing loss research.

Does Anyone Have Bad Eustachian Tube Dysfunction (ETD)?

I can’t say if you have ETD, but balloon dilatation is actually different. A small balloon is inserted in your eustachian tube and inflated to open it up.

Yes, a bit of a bragging thread, but I thought it was pretty cool. Making people pay for the research for the hearing damage they are about to give themselves. I bought a few tickets for festival I knew was gonna sell out, and resold them later. The profit was about $30. Next one is gonna be...

How Can the Flu Cause Hearing Loss and Tinnitus?

As a result of the cold/flu, my dad permanently lost hearing in one ear. Does anyone perhaps know what exactly is damaged in this case? How Important Is Money for Tinnitus Research?

Okay, obviously money is very important. But what I actually mean to ask: how dependent is a cure for tinnitus and hearing loss on money? Let’s say Jeff Bezos donated his entire net worth to tinnitus and hearing loss research, would it be very likely a cure for tinnitus would follow soon, or...

What Would Be Your Last Treatment Experiment Before Suicide?

Sorry to hear that Bam. My dad is over 60 though with enough money saved to last for the rest of his life. Money and self esteem are not really an issue for him. What Would Be Your Last Treatment Experiment Before Suicide?

My dad has permanent hearing loss and tinnitus as a result of the common cold a month ago. I feel so bad for him, I don’t even care about my own tinnitus anymore. That’s true. One of my friends’ dad has tinnitus but said he didn’t really care. I’m personally a little autistic and naturally anxious. I think that maybe you have to be mentally a bit “sick” to care about tinnitus or really have it bother you (talking about mild tinnitus here). Just a thought.

In that case I think it’d be more likely that it will be available as a treatment at the ENT’s office or something. Something which should be covered by insurance, but yeah it would probably still be too expensive for some..
