Distraction helps you to reach habitation...your brain will learn to ignore your T as just another back ground noise to ignore...think about it...when people drive down the road do they pay attention to the road noise ??? No your brain tunes it out as another back ground noise to ignore...

Definitely protect your ears from loud noises if possible...I don’t think you can go deaf from T it’s nerve damage...

Sitting in my lazboy ear buds in listening to my Apple Music...tonight is country music night...and my unmaskable T insists on being center stage... T on T...I just invented that...

My habitation began about 8-9 months in...for me I had a very busy job driving a truck all over the country so I was distracted a lot...Your mind can accomplish amazing things...with time...I know I get looks of disbelief when I say I could not imaging life without my T...when I post on this...

You may have just been distracted...part of the habitation process...your mind chooses to ignore it and concentrate on a new environment...

It's interesting to see everyone's T is unique to the individual...I have a high pitched ringing 11kHz... I habituated over 20 years ago, it is unmaskable and yet it doesn't bother me in the least...

Habituation will take time, it took me 8-9 months for it to happen...my T is unmaskable but my mind ignores it just as our minds ignores external stimuli all around us every day...

If I have had a stressful day I sit in my lazboy in a quiet room and listen to my T singing its heart out (11kHz) and it puts me into a complete state of relaxation...

Great point... My high pitched T began soon after I started my driving career over 20 years ago... went to the doctor and the expected "nothing we can do" response...first 9 months were pure hell...while driving I couldn't listen to the radio because of the pain it caused... I had no other...

You need to be under professional care...if it's this traumatic for you hit and miss won't work...my first 9 months I honestly believed I was going mad...at least think of your family...

I believe most T is caused by traumatic noise events...but what sound and why us...T is not common and research is scant at best...driving a truck over the road produced a constant drown that very few will ever experience...why me and not every other over the road driver...often I wonder is this...

Ok...been listening with them many years...

It's selective...got mine driving a big truck with constant road and engine noise...I listen with my earbuds every night...normal for me but then I believe T is unique to each of us...I don't understand my own T much less someone else's...

It's "me" now, not a separate infliction...I listen to my Apple Music with ear buds at a very elevated volume and it almost masks my T side of mind...
