2020 US Presidential Election

That's what I'm saying. I think others are too, but we are coming at it from a different angle.

It's all part of the corrupt and unethical game of politics; one I look at from afar.

If I were a US citizen, I would refuse to vote for either of the candidates.
I don't think Trump is racist at all though. I think he's just playing a game like he did on reality tv. He knows what to say to get voters to vote for him though.

His Republican voters are mainly conservatives and I'm pretty sure in America there are more conservatives than the left so of course he can't say anything bad about conservatives or he will lose votes.

I have no idea if he's a racist or not, but he's playing a game for sure.
He will literally do anything to hang onto power.

I know Biden is bad, but Trump has to go.

Donald Trump's the kind of guy that would be the small percentage of cases where pregnancy occurs with a condom. He would then sue the condom company for his own birth, record the court fees as deductible business expenses, use the income from not paying taxes to hire a prostitute, knock her up, then tell her to get an abortion.

And he would convince millions of Americans that this whole series of events was Obama's fault.
If I still had the concentration to write short stories, I think fanfic where Obama goes back in time to become Trump's dad would be a fun satire to write.

Let me just ask; Why do so many white supremacists love Trump? Why has hate crime violence risen?

As far as Trump goes; he was sued in the 70's for lying to black applicants who wanted to rent at his apartments. He would lie and say he had none available when their were. He straight up wouldn't rent to black people.

How can you defend that?

1973 | Meet Donald Trump

He said he wanted 5 black ppl executed for a violent crime in NY, then when DNA evidence cleared them he still (in 2016) insists they are guilty.

Donald Trump Still Thinks The Central Park Five Are Guilty (They Aren't)

In his casino he would remove black dealers from the floor when a racist big spender came in.

Trump Plaza loses appeal of discrimination penalty
You mean the blacks who have harassed and attacked whites, those hate crimes?

The liberals' replies here are getting more ridiculous all the time.

Hi! It's not overblown. Wearing a mask is literally[/I ]the least we can do to help ourselves and others slow the spread. As far as who it affects, my 27-year-old healthy brother got COVID-19 in April and he still experiences awful symptoms more days than not.

If you don't agree with wearing a mask, you aren't just denying science, you are being an ignorant ass that is showing they legitimately don't care if they are a part of spreading something that can honestly ruin peoples lives. If nothing else, it is common freaking decency.

Remember this is a virus so it doesn't leave your system...w ho the hell knows what the long term effects are. You want to tell healthy people in their 30s who suffered strokes because of it that it's overblown? Or my brother who averages 2-3 hours a sleep per night?
It is overblown.

Politics is all about impressions, and what you're outlining is a president who is far more concerned about whether this or that group is mislabeled as white supremacist than, oh, I dunno, the actual pressing issue POLICE BRUTALITY. So it's not that some groups may be painted with a broad brush, which may in fact be true, but his skewed priorities, which are the epitome of (hate to say it) WHITE FRAGILITY. I hate that term but he is the poster-child of White Fragility as far as denying the problem and blame-shifting rather than accepting it.
If Lilah is a Trump apologist, you're just as much an anti-white liberal. In fact, that is a pattern here.

The Democrats supposedly denounce violence but none of them have ever denounced violence by the perpetrators by name. They have never mentioned BLM or Antifa who are the main perpetrators.

They shrugged off Antifa and claim they are "an idea" (lol: whatever that means) and only have praise for BLM. They shrug off BLM members' condoning and support statements in favor of violence including looting.

Yet, they have no reservations about naming so-called White Supremacists or making accusations. Such hypocrites.

Joe Biden in an interview in Pittsburgh once again refused to comment on court packing. I think this is likely because he's considering it.

Biden deflects yet again on court packing questions: 'I'm not going to play Trump's game'
And so he should consider it. The GOP is playing the first hand of Sean Connery's Chicago Way. There's really no alternative than to go for the nuclear option.

We have the partisan equivalent of civil war. Instead of clear state vs. state conflict it's party vs. party. The GOP have made it clear they will burn the country to the ground if necessary. The democrats have no choice but to meet force against force.

On October 11, 2006, The Washington Post reported that Wallace had been a registered Democrat for more than two decades.

Why am I not surprised. I could sense friction between him and Trump right away.

If we are in a world where Chris Wallace is now considered a lefty shill because he tried (and failed because he was too kind to Trump) to stop baby Trump from lashing out like a petulant 4 year old, we are headed straight to hell. Honest to god, anything short of "I love Donald Trump. He is my hero; let's worship him" is considered "liberal bias." Maybe we just have a bias against worthless scumbags. All I want for Christmas is for Trump supporters to figure out that they are so much better than him.

I believe he had a bad interview with Trump before so Wallace was a bad choice. I believe I read Republicans and Democrats agree that Wallace was a poor choice for moderator.

My friend. If you watched the Trump/Wallace interview, and your takeaway was that it went poorly because of Chris Wallace, we will, sadly, never see eye to eye. Trump was totally unprepared for the most basic questions about COVID-19 and even tried to use his cognitive test (which basically reveals that Trump has a pulse) to say he was smarter than Wallace.

For the life of me, I do not understand the Trump movement. The history of the world is loaded with wars and conflicts. Were they all this stupid? How are we honestly divided on whether Donald Trump is good or not? I really can't believe this is reality. How can one watch that debate and admire that performance in any way?

Because Trump was acting like a fool?

Wallace is a lefty, so is the next moderator Steve Scully who used to work for Biden. Why is this allowed? Trump should say at the very beginning of the next debate that Steve Scully used to work for Biden and that he is biased. I'm sure he'll remind the public a few times.

@Zugzug, Chris Wallace did seem somewhat abrasive in that interview to me. What did he say positive about Trump? It seemed all negative to me. Was Trump supposed to be trampled over by all of the negative polls, charts, etc. that Wallace brought up? What would you expect from a long time Democrat that happened to be a Fox News reporter interviewing a Republican President? They were bound to clash at some point.

Why do so many white supremacists love Trump?
White supremacists are a very fringe group, and yes they do support Trump. However, they don't support Trump because Trump is a white supremacist (he has repeatedly denounced white supremacists), but because Trump is pro-gun, pro-military, pro-MAGA, wants limited government, etc. Does that make sense?

Communists overwhelmingly supported Bernie and Hillary. Does this mean all Democrats are communists?

The crime I see nowadays is from BLM and Antifa.

These are very old stories from the 70s and 80s, and Trump is now a changed man and he believes in equal opportunity for everyone including minorities and women. I wouldn't be surprised if Trump in his youth denied Black applicants from renting; racism was more of the norm back then so if the majority of tenants did not want Black tenants Trump would be under pressure from a business perspective. Even now, many landlords do not rent to Black applicants due to fear that they might bring the BLM looter/rioter types into their neighborhood.

Trump and wife test positive for coronavirus.

What does this mean in regard to the election and for the US? How will Trump's base react?

Who needs Hollywood movies when we have real life.

I never had a problem with responsible people getting financial assistance, even without a physiological or physical problem as there's no safety net for many. Walmart workers - one example: many are hired part time and do not receive company sponsored health insurance or a livable salary, so many also need public assistance and food stamps.

Then there's healthy unemployed individuals who get more financial assistance with every new birth. I lost count of how many times that I heard a healthy partner in the OB unit say, another child - more beer and drug money.

Then there are those that go to the ER with severe tinnitus, brain electrical zaps, hearing distortion, hyperacusis, and neck and jaw pain that can't get financial assistance or disability. Doctors will seldom support these individuals with written statements to government departments of disability. Employers often will not sign off on disability because their afraid that tinnitus can be associated to their workplace.

What are the odds that he's lying in order to get sympathy?

"There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge." ― Issac Asimov

What is there to hide? When a man becomes president, he has to divest many of his interests. Trump never accepted his $400,000 salary, he donated it.

Do you understand that Trump and his organizations need at least 100 accountants, from the top firms, to do taxes for his financial empire, and all of these people are the best of the best in their profession? Or, do you picture Trump with a green visor and a banker's lamp, sitting at a rolling desk manually filling out tax forms himself, with a fountain pen? Get real, he isn't hiding anything.
In Spain we have a communist in the ruling government and he also donates his salary. To be precise he takes his salary from his left pocket and puts it in his right pocket. And any politician that "donates" his salary does pretty much this, in a more or less sophisticated way.

I still say, he is a million times better than a war-mongering maniac like Lincoln. Trump is a little screwy, but not bad as a president. Do you admire Nixon, Lyndon Johnson, and other bloodthirsty warlords? Maybe you'd prefer Truman, who dropped the atomic bomb?

I'll take Trump over any of them, hands down. Those who do not understand this, to me at least, have a serious problem with priorities and values when it comes to human life. Keep your killers, and if Trump did beat the draft, which I personally don't believe he did, good for him. He's more of a hero to me than napalm dropping, naval bombing pilot John McCain ever was.
