Go to the doctors ask for sleeping tablets and then get a prescription for anxiety medication after I told him I didn't want to take any type of antidepressants or anxiety meds????

I love smiling puppies.

Every morning on the way to the gym at 5:45 am some people are out walking their dogs along the coast. It makes me smile because some of the pups are actually smiling and tail wagging. Some are kinda drowsy walking. Some are taking their time sniffing things knowing their person will be going to work.

Did he flatly refuse to give you Melatonin JCB?

No that's what annoyed me, he was asking me loads of questions in regards to my mood, sleep etc then I said so could I try some sleeping tablets specifically Melatonin, he looked at me and smiled wrote a prescription out and off I went. I stupidly didn't look at the prescription until I drove 20 minutes to the pharmacy and while I was parked up I looked at the prescription and saw it was for sertraline which I googled and it's for anxiety, depression OCD.

So fucking annoying mate, I'll have to book another appointment with a different doctor now.

Yeah they never fail to make me smile as well, even the dopey looking ones haha

There is an absolutely beautiful Doberman puppy I see nearly every morning, running after the ball his owner keeps throwing. It's hit n miss if my dog will chase after the ball haha normally just looks at the ball then at me and goes the opposite direction

Hum @Jcb do you need a prescription for Melatonin?

Personally, I tried it (different forms) and I thought my head would explode. We can buy it here at a store.

Sorry that happened to you....

My sleep is terrible, I've tried most herbal remedies and herbal sleeping tablets, nothing helps. Dave mentioned Melatonin, thought I'd give it a go and see what affects it has and if it helps.

I tried some sleeping tablets a few years back and they made me feel awful so kind of been avoiding them, I'll see if these help some?

I think that doctor is a dickhead Jay.
My son-in-law recommended it to me.
He just uses it if he keeps waking up too early.
I asked my doctor for it, and he said,
"Sure - it's the safest thing you could ask for. Innocuous.
It doesn't work for everybody, but if it works for you that's great."
It comes in a pack called Circadin 2mg (Melatonin.)
I use a pill cutter and take just 1mg - it works like a charm.
I have a medical guru I turn to when in doubt.
I'll get some more info bud.

Cheers mate, it took me a while to get an appointment so it'll probably be another week.

I'll give it a go and see if it helps when I eventually get some haha. I'll see a different doctor next time.

Goodness me - never heard anything like that before Star.
What strength were they?

In the U.K. you need a prescription.

In Holland where we travel to a lot, you can buy them over the counter, and even in packs for children who don't sleep well.

@Jcb - if you google melatonin you will find many reviews.
Here is one of them:

What clinches it for me is:

* I take just 1mg (half a tablet)
if my previous night was not good.
I sleep really well on that.

* no apparent side effects for me.

But our experiences will differ of course.

We can buy Melatonin at Walmart, here in Canada. The cost is $9.97 which isn't too bad. I am going to give it a go, my sleep has been anything but good for too long, now.

Ems - are they capsules or hard tablets?
If they are tablets of course you can halve the dose with a pill cutter.
Honestly, I use a 2mg tablet and halve it, taking just 1mg and I'm gone.
But some people say that they don't work for them at even high doses.
I do believe it is one supplement which is worth a try.
