Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2 / COVID-19) and Tinnitus

The derivative of an exponential function is the exponential function itself. On this plot, we see that the increases each day appear to get larger.
Someone who speaks my language. In fact, technically speaking, the best description of the death rate is that its current rate of change resembles an exponential function. If you take all data points and look at it cumulatively, it resembles an exponential function less.

In the future, the exponential function will also be a poor model because herd immunity and vaccines will create a leveling off point, one that an exponential function doesn't have.

The denominator represents the number of people in the 100 active cases who end up recovering. The numerator represents the total number who die. The problem is that you are not taking into account the group of past active cases that had produced those 50 fatalities. Your assumption of a 2% fatality rate means that there were 50/0.02 = 2500 people in that group. To compute the fatality rate using your assumptions we would look at the total number of people who die 50+2 = 52 and divide it by all of the cases (2500 + 100). So we get 52/2600 = 0.02 or 2%. We assumed a fatality rate of 2%, and that's what we get - everything is consistent. I am not sure what (50+100*0,02)/(100*0,98) could represent.
Thank you for debunking some pretty rough math. The last thing people on this forum need is a belief that a 2% death rate could randomly shoot up in the 50's.

I work in healthcare and felt cold symptoms. As a healthcare worker we can get tested at a remote "drive through". The cotton up my nose for 10 seconds made my tinnitus pulsate :eek::eek::p
Thank you for your service. I hope you feel better.

Soon a boatload of high profile figures will be dying from this.

@Ed209I just read something I hadn't been aware of. It's apparently easier to maintain high levels of Vit. C in the body by frequently taking it orally. In comparison, levels of C from IV C can dissipate within a few hours.
Thank you for mentioning this. I know C is water soluble so it can't be built up like a fat soluble vitamin can, but I wonder how quick C dissipates. Ever since the corona world wide shit show began, I started taking 200mg daily for maintenance sourced from Elderberry with a splash of echinacea and zinc. If I get infected, I'll be upping it to 800mg broken up into four 200mg doses daily.

NYC... :(

NYTimes:
13 Deaths in a Day: An 'Apocalyptic' Coronavirus Surge at an N.Y.C. Hospital
Hospitals in the city are facing the kind of harrowing increases in cases that overwhelmed health care systems in China and Italy.

NY Post published that hospitals in NY are now using large doses of IV vit C.

Are there any politicians or famous people with severe case, fighting for life or that's the "privilege" of only us ordinary mortals?
Yes, there are. Lorenzo Sanz (the ex-president of Real Madrid) died a few days ago. Terence McNally also died. In my country, the Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy, Steven Dick also passed away. He was only 37. As of now, nothing has been revealed if he had any chronic illnesses.

I'm sure there are tons of reserves of weird drugs and respirators for the elite.
I've heard a number of famous Hollywood actors are swapping immune systems with pangolins imported from China, which apparently protects them from coronavirus, but turns their skin into what's been described as "scaly armor."

According to TMZ, this photo of Angelina Jolie with one of her children was taken this past week:

You see nothing wrong with your computation? All of your cases have resulted in death, every single one - nobody has recovered, and somehow your math leads to a death rate of 53%...

Do you look at that and say "thumbs up, my math is correct: nobody has survived this thing yet, so it's about half and half chance to make it"?

Sanity check?
What are you talking about?

In this example there are 100 active and 50 dead. Which means out of 150 people 100 are still alive. I don't know where you see all the people died in this example?

And then I am simply showing you that by applying a 2% death rate in the calculation, we don't end up with 2% death rate as a result... I don't know what you are not understanding.

@Bill Bauer that's not what I was trying to show. I was showing that by having a 2% theoretical death rate and putting it inside a calculation, it doesn't necessarily give 2% as a result, which is what was implying to Greg. That's what my calculation showed. This wasn't about proving a 2% death rate.

If it comes to your city or town, don't assume that you can't get it or give it. Many people have a silent version, with few or no noticeable symptoms. I live in the epicenter of COVID-19, New York City. I'm certain that I had it, with mild symptoms and no need to get tested, but I'm still following the guidelines and laws regarding social interactions.

I do not think you need to worry about being forced to work in healthcare, especially if you are not in good health at present. You need to look after yourself in this case. I am also a Nurse, non practicing now, however I do realize they are calling upon anybody who is available to

Take a look at the writings of Stephen Buhner on his Facebook page using Isatis, which has been shown successful in eradicating other coronaviruses.

Unbelievable response at 8pm from London & the UK for the NHS!

Yes, unbelievable. Also as vile as it gets.

This is the kind of an activity that they used to practice in USSR. No wonder the reality in the UK is what @Ed209 had described:
Our GP's practice shut down last week; it's telephone consultations only but nobody ever rings back. It's anarchy. The people we ring don't know what the hell is going on. My wife is still coughing up hard green stuff and she can't get access to a Dr for help, and we can't get our baby checked as the guidelines state we should. The 111 helpline went down earlier as well.
My mom was admitted to hospital last night via ambulance. She is still waiting for a bed 9 hours later.
This story is scarily similar to ours because just like him, once my wife had said she hadn't been to China, they ruled out Covid-19 without even testing for it and instead diagnosed something else and just handed out antibiotics.

This was also during the containment phase just as it was when my wife first got her symptoms. This is how viruses spread so quickly; when people aren't being tested on the basis that they haven't been to China or Italy, even though they are showing all the symptoms, is incredibly naive and stupid.

THAT is what clapping (instead of actually doing something for the doctors and nurses like ensuring they get the proper protection like masks or increasing their salaries to compensate for the added risk and stress) and other hallmarks of collectivism get you.

Prince Charles (really old dude) tested positive for COVID-19, mysteriously only has mild/no symptoms and is comfortably self isolating at home...

Italian fitness coach 38 years old was near death, but eventually recovered...

Hmmmmmmm.

Did you test positive? I'm pretty sure that the wife and I both had the virus already, but it was before the testing was available, a few weeks ago. We didn't even think COVID-19, as the symptoms weren't much like the flu, or even a very bad cold. Stay well.

Politicians and famous people are more likely to get it because they come in contact with more people and from all around the world, so they aren't necessarily better off.

Prince Charles was just diagnosed.

Do you need to see celebrities start dropping dead to feel a sense of fairness?

Rand Paul, the Senator from Kentucky, diagnosed with COVID-19, is staying at home.

Prince Charles, diagnosed with COVID-19, is staying at home.

They are not even hospitalized, which means that they're not very sick, and possibly asymptomatic.

Anybody who has had contact with a lot of people, from all over the place, as these two usually do, a few weeks or less before the big shakeup over the past two weeks, has a higher chance of being infected. Stay well.
