If I was a respectable scientist trying to find groundbreaking treatments for an unmet medical need I wouldn't want shady internet people being my biggest fans and making my research into a meme.

I'm having complete regrets about MPP, you guys do realize if researchers have there name Google Searched that this crap showing up in search results can damage there reputation? We're hurting the people trying to help us

there not gonna understand our messing around and think that we are legitimate alt right tinnitus movement
We're doing Jastreboff a FAVOR.

no sir. tinnitus is a situation that rides on stress and emotional well being. If you're sad, tinnitus symptoms will amplify your sadness, if you're happy, that happiness will help suppress your tinnitus. it is a very very dynamic situation. the memes you post are true and funny. plus if you're a truly a sufferer then you have full jurisdiction and authority. what you're worrying about is political correct nonsense. but at the same time, you're right because we live in a politically correct environment. so on one hand, you're providing comic relief that is true which resonates more with those that have T, and is emotionally stabilizing to your fellow sufferers, but on the other hand, this behavior can understandably turn away support from the masses that know nothing about this. You have my vote sire. either way, because I understand. In the long run you're probably right, we need to push the stone in meekness.

Then again maybe it was just the guy who posted the Youtube video that didn't want us sharing it and he wasn't affiliated with research.

I just don't want to insult the people that want to help me. This thread is filled with edgy internet humor that doesn't mix well with supporting sciences.

Guys I have upsetting news and it's all my fault.

I think MPP actually did manage to get researchers attention and not for the better.
apparently they don't like it when mentally ill people like myself make memes about hidden hearing loss or any of there research topics.

The Youtube vid of Liberman's presentation on hidden hearing loss can no longer be played through embedding
I can still link it but it can't play hosted on, this could have happened months ago and I was unaware of it could have always been like that, most likely my fault for posting it in every thread to argue with people who said they had no hearing loss. Even if I was correct, the way I want about it was juvenile.

@PetitGarsTimide, @threefirefour and glowout are all guilty of this as well but not as far as I took it.

I know I'm not qualified to lecture about hearing loss, tinnitus, I'm a total wannabe, I just am fascinated by research knowing they actually care and it's comforting knowing my problems can be explained a lot better as opposed to 10 years ago. A lot of people on this forum spread misinformation saying they no hearing loss when they do, or worse I misunderstand or speculate something and spread false information simply due to my amateur understanding.

My audio gram fails to detect my obvious hearing loss and reactive tinnitus, TTTS
that makes me suicidal, I wake up everyday wishing I had healthy hearing not muffled distortion in my right ear. I actually want help, I can't stand knowing I literally did a disservice to the people trying to help us.

Scientist and Researchers don't need people to make memes about there work, obviously isn't the best thing for there reputation. If researchers are reading this by any chance I completely truly apologize.

Please have qualified people on this forum that can help spread information as well as the ATA and BTA and others make videos explaining the mechanism's of tinnitus, hyperacusis and hidden hearing loss broke down into laymens terms/3d animations so things could be understood more clearly? I haven't either bothered to post any of Susan Shore's research because I barely understand it.

This MPP thread is just a obnoxious way we try to get attention, most of the things posted in it are works of nonsense, I suffer from borderline personality disorder as well as tinnitus/hearing loss.

I think this thread is a perfectly fine thing. I don't think it either helps or hinders a cure being found. But, what it does is provide a place (at least for me) where I can share sentiments of frustration, longing and other emotions related to finding an actual cure, with like-minded people. For that reason I think it has value. It's nice to feel not completely alone regarding this critical issue.
And memes are funny.
Don't worry about it @Contrast.

I can't stand it when people treat tinnitus and hyperacusis as if the only treatment would exist from a total neurological approach and completely ignore the idea of the brain mapping organization possibly treating both of them.

Cure tinnitus & hyperacusis = CURE HEARING LOSS

MPP is dying because ya'll are becoming freakin normies
I wish... I've had T for 6+ months and it's really not getting any easier.
Back towards the beginning there were some days that it was a lower-pitched static instead of this clusterfuck of shrill screechy thingies. That sucked too of course, but it was definitely was waaaay easier to deal with than the mind-warping screeeeeeching!!
Different types of tinnitus are totally different animals. I must say, if God exists I think he deserves a medal for being so brilliantly sadistic.

we'll it's about time I go back to using the ol Mozilla Firefox, I switched to an open source waterfox browser during the November 2017 quantum update that I personally liked but didn't use because it lacked the majority of the addons that I liked. Now that most addons work on Firefox quantum that I need, it's faster and has a larger dev team focused on security.

Seriously Firefox rules, theres no excuse in the world to use chrome other then being a digital sheep
if you have to use a chromium based browser use Vivaldi
