Bun Bun Fraggle is a noble soul. He always cheers me up.
@Contrast, you still have so much to live for so don't do anything silly. I know you're in hell right now, and believe me, I know what that feels like. I wish you had someone to talk to in real life; is there someone you can confide in because you clearly need help? I know what it's like to be in pain 24/7 with screaming ears all day, so I get that you're beyond low, but you'd be surprised how life can be turned around.
You can reinvent yourself, anyone can, even with debilitating health conditions but you'll need help to get you there.
You need love and support and you're just not getting it. I wish I could do more but I'm limited in what I can do over the internet. Please try and seek out people who can give you the help that you desperately need.
It's probably not healthy for you to be constantly reading posts from people who are in distress like this site and other health sites. Try and spend more time animating or doing something creative even if you don't feel like it. In the long run, you will start to feel a difference because psychologically, we start to become more like the people we hang out with the most, and if all you're being exposed to is misery then it's not going to help you.
You're one of the great posters, so I know that everyone wants the best for you. You are loved here so don't ever forget that.
Always shows up at 4 kHz? Seriously? There should be repercussions for practitioners just outright bullshitting patients. It seems like once you have your doctorate you can just bulldoze over anyone you please because you're "more accomplished" and therefore smarter and better informed.Went to an ENT about my ear pain today. Here's what I learned:
My tinnitus AND ear pain MUST be caused by jaw tension, because noise induced tinnitus ALWAYS shows up as big dip around 4000 Hz on a standard audiogram. And I have "perfect hearing" on a normal audiogram, therefore noise induced tinnitus is ruled out!!
Jaw tension is the leading cause of tinnitus
Tinnitus cannot be caused by headphones. I'll start using them again!!!
Ear pain or tinnitus cannot be caused by nerve damage
The key to making my ear pain better is to take walks, appreciate nature, breathe deeply, and pat myself on the back at the end of the day for 3 good things I did that day wheee
My ear pain is caused by fear of sounds, not sounds themselves!!!!
Antidepressants are a great idea for me to try, they can help with my ear pain!!!!
Gee, thanks Doc! I'm going to continue using my speakers and worsen my ear pain since there is no way that "normal" sounds can be more dangerous for a person that already has noise induced tinnitus, I'm so glad there's well informed and non-arrogant docs out there that really know their stuff!
I was diagnosed with two new things.@Contrast now that you know the name to your illness what is it? You mentioned that there is a forum for it. Were you diagnosed with this illness or did you self diagnose?

Hi Michael. I know you mean well with your advice, but from doing extensive research it looks to me like painful hearing has the best chance of recovering spontaneously when sound that causes any discomfort is avoided. Exposure therapy with white noise, pink noise, and etc very often aggravate the condition and even when seemingly successful the underlying cochlear damage is in no way corrected. If possible try and get a referral to see an Audiologist that specialises in Tinnitus and Hyperacusis treatment. ENT doctors do not treat tinnitus, they treat underlying medical problems within the auditory system that is causing the tinnitus. The reason you have this information by your ENT is becomes he doesn't understand much about tinnitus or hyperacusis.

Did you get a picture of said Garfish?I hold two accomplishes in this life that are definitely meaningful
1: I caught a giant longnose garfish in my State, probably a state record and definitely very rare. (2011)
2: I brought down a ecommerce scam empire (2018-2020)
I guess 3 could include making paramount memes but overall now that my life is coming to an end, I might as well shitpost in solace and reflect upon the life I lived.
