Okay more like high pitched ringing. I used to have high pitched piercing ringing but now mostly static. An ENT that had tinnitus told me his tinnitus was about the same volume as talking to someone or to yourself. That was his analogy.

Don't give up just yet! You've had moments where you doubted yourself and it ended up working in the end. Consider this as a temporary setback. Don't lose hope until at least two months.
Stay positive!
Get back to your health regiment...
Make sure it's not anxiety driven... I am in no way being patronizing... I really am concerned and worried for you... I also know we are all super sensitive.
Power the vitamins, get back into your health regiment, and I pray you get better fast. Hang tight, could be a temporary spike that will settle when your nervous system chills.

I have already gotten some results from Dr. Shim, but not nearly enough. I guess it's good considering the treatments started only two weeks ago...
There's a lot to explain first before.
I'm 65, and very healthy except for my hearing. When I was a little kid, I always heard a high pitched whirring. It never stopped. I didn't know there was anything abnormal about it. It didn't bother me. My hearing was always very good until I reached about 40 or 41.
Then I noticed an understanding and hearing issue.
I went to rock concerts, took the screeching NYC subways, other things, and never used hearing protection. Duh.
I got strong hearing aids at 60, from an audiologist in Phoenix. Every year she would do an audiogram, and say nothing has changed. The word comprehension part of her test was a disaster for me. I can't understand words, unless I'm very close to the speaker. My chart starts with about 50 decibel loss, and gets worse from there. I noticed my hearing was getting worse even though she said it wasn't.
2-3 months ago, I went to an ENT nearby, and his audiologist did an audio gram too. She said you are a cochlear implant candidate, on my right side. The right is much worse than my left ear.
I asked the 2nd audiologist if putting in a powerful implant would further damage my hearing. She said no, the implant hooks into your nerve, not cochlear. Well, I did a google on that, and some .gov website says it does cause further cochlear degeneration. I decided not to pursue the implant. (Do all audiologists lie or something?)
I just happened to stumble onto Tinnitus Talk, and some people attacking JohnAdams and Dr. Shim. I began emailing Dr. Shim. He didn't make any specific promises about results. Everyone is different. He said, I will do my best for you. And he meant it. I didn't go there because of my tinnitus. It doesn't bother me at all. I went because of my terrible understanding capability.

John, I think we stayed at the same place you did. Ju is the Airbnb hostess?
I think her place is the closest Airbnb to his clinic.
I am extremely impressed with Dr Shim, and his clinic. He has a couple of nurses, that can do anything he needs. He has a sound booth, to do audiograms, and did one on me on the first day. I have a pic to post, but I'm not sure how to do it.
He has a very successful ENT practice, lotsa patients come in. He doesn't do exclusively cochlear regeneration.
But Dr Shim is a pioneer in this. After spending two weeks, I see he's very progressive and open. I think all the new little discoveries and drugs that we hear about, I'm sure he already knows about. He's the opposite of an MD, who has been doing things the same way for the last 35 years.
After a week, one of his nurses did another audiogram. It didn't show change. She did another audiogram on the 11th day, my left ear showed an improvement. I don't have the charts. Dr Shim can send them. I thought it seemed like I heard a few more beeps on the 11th day audiogram.
His audiograms showed about the same results as the two different audiogists did in Phx.
But, at this moment, I don't feel I can understand conversation better yet.
And I am wearing ear silencers in noisy environments.

Yeah I think he is a genius and gifted by God.
Yes, it takes a few months, have patience.
We are very vulnerable. No ear kisses.

Just FYI everybody. This man knows details that I have not shared on this forum and I have no doubt at this point that he in fact has visited the clinic.

I'm hoping I'm beautiful enough to lure in an ENT/audiologist/person who has worked on FX-322 and give him the good grape fruit technique so I can get it for free.
Just fair warning, yes, we're vulnerable as poo. But a kiss to the ear would be very damaging to someone with healthy ears as well.
Before I can say whether I'd go back, I need time to see how this goes.
Also, it was $18,000 for two ears. That's total. But it should be pointed out that he gives you a lot. He's a very very giving person.
He's the doctor, but he's also a warm caring host.
He bought me a bone conduction headset, to keep, to help the cochlear regrow, or something. It kind of vibrates against your temples, and you hear via bone conduction. I'll use it daily.
I feel I got value. He did some things that were costly and all included.
I'm a landscaper, and can work in noisy environments (I'm careful now). I have been coughing violently, at times, for 8 years. There is nothing doctors could find wrong. I went to 2 different NMD's, one pulmonologist, and ENT in Phoniex, and read and listened to layman's advice. Nothing could stop my cough. In fact, I developed gerd heartburn pretty good, from coughing all day long. A digestive doctor in Phoenix sent a scope down my esophagus and saw a medium hiatal hernia with acid burns in my throat, characteristic of coughing.
On the first day at Dr Shim's, you'll relate to this John, he saw I had a deviated septum. It was a problem for me.
He did surgery, right there in the next room, to correct the problem. His nurses assist in surgery too.
He needed to break my septum and restitch it in the correct position. He did that on day one. For the entire two weeks, I had almost no coughing, and my daily heartburn didn't act up once. GERD stopped.
He said health issues that don't bother you when you're younger can bother you later on.
I wonder why the ENT in Phoniex, that looked up my nose, down my throat, didn't mention my deviated septum. I told him I had a coughing issue.
I am very happy about the 'side nose job'.
Dr Shim could have ignored it too. He really wants to help people.
So whether I'd go back, maybe. But I'm not a spring chicken anymore. It's a long trip.
I will predict something. He won't restrict himself to PRP injections thru the eardrums.
When he has other drugs available, and safe, and effective, he will use them.
